What is Auto Shutdown Manager?
Auto Shutdown Manager, provided by EnviProt, offers a way to remotely manage desktop PCs, servers, and laptops running the Windows Vista operating system and Windows 7 - 11 on 32/64-bit systems. Unused devices can be switched off to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions.
In addition, Auto Shutdown Manager provides an IT Asset Management function (ITAM), which allows IT administrators and managers to receive an overview of all licenses and devices. ITAM can also intervene in the case of existing assets or receive more detailed information about their installed hard drives and CPUs. With the help of a central server, PCs can be woken from sleep mode via Wake on LAN. Local and directed broadcasts, and WoL proxies, ensure a high degree of reliability with Wake on LAN via the Internet, VLANs, or different networks. Users in a home office environment can start a PC remotely from anywhere in the world via a WAN or WoW client.
EnviProt’s Idle Shutdown Timer is a tool that ensures PCs only switch off when important processes are no longer running. Planned shutdowns can also be implemented via an administrator PC or a server. A large number of PCs and users can be managed via web-based WOL portals. Tens of thousands of devices can be managed from a central location.
