You can build simple models with the standard features quite rapidly which is great for beginners but the additional features like Optquest and Visual Logic expand its possibilities much further.

10/10 - I would purchase again. I also took the training with customer service rep and that unlocked my use of the tool more than if I were to just buy and use without going.Both the reps are the two employees I interface with most and I can't say enough positive things about my experience as a customer and user. They already had the sale, they didn't need to keep helping me but I feel their attitude is for the product to truly help my decision making. 

Ease of use and WONDERFUL customer experience

I can’t praise the simul8 team enough, very knowledgeable, patient and flexible. Everyone has been very supportive and they are still supportive through my project. 

The team has ideas and is always looking to improve and find solutions. My project was with the university and in a hospital and the simul8 have been very flexible about availability.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, user feedback is so important for helping us improve. We originally replied  back in 2020, we wanted to follow up again as we've made improvements in the areas you suggested improvements.

Firstly the Visual Logic editor has had a major update. Yourself and other users wanted us to make it completely free type like other programme editors you use. We've now done this, so you can type freely with no verification getting in the way. To help beginner users we've kept the line validation but moved it to a separate mode. So now all users can have VL behave as suits them.

In terms of documentation we've since introduced Simul8 Academy and have introduced a range of new examples for Visual Logic. We'll keep adding to this bank each week so it will grow as a resource. 

Again, thank you for the feedback. It has been invaluable and directly inputted to our product development. Thank you.

Simul8 allows for simulation models to be developed quickly and efficiently, due to the fact the interface and features are easy to use. My experience using Simul8 live in workshop settings in particular has been valuable - due to the ability to develop the simulations in an interactive and engaging manner. Further, the 1-to-1 coaching that Simul8 provide is brilliant - the coaches are very flexible, engaging and friendly, and really go the extra mile to support your development .

An experience from a novice Simulation tool user..

From an educational view (as this was my experience with Simul8 up to now), and after discussing with our students who used the software for some case studies, our impression and experience was really great. Surely, the supporting material and the high level lecture given from Simul8's representative, played an important role for all of us to know better the world of simulation and learn the wide possibilities and usage in real problems.

I've been using Simul8 for almost 2 decades on and off. I love what I can do with it, especially in creating very nuanced test data for projects.

Logistics Simulations

Overall I have had a very positive experience of using the software. We've used Simul8 for looking at explaining why ambulances queuing at emergency departments in recent years has increased. Currently are using it to look at staff required to deal with call demands at GP practices. We also use it for training other analysts to help them understand what discrete event simulation is and can do.

I use the software as a teaching tool but my students always work in a practical project for the final part of their course. 

Best customer and technical support in industry

I am making heavy use to the VL capability. Most of my Activities have an attached VL routine. I am simulating Robots and Operators in pick aisles using WMS simulated pick lists. Testing Optimization algorithms for efficient Robot travel, Operator travel, and Robot "swarming" to meet Operators at a pick face.

I used SIMUL8 mainly in the healthcare sector. I may have done in the last 5 years approximately ten projects, big and small. I also use SIMUL8 with my students to teach operations management. SIMUL8 is powerful because it is fast but also because it is intuitive. This makes the results of a simulation easy to explain to customers that are not familiar with simulation.

We wanted to model our mechanized warehouse investments and thus have started to introduce the value of simulation and so far the feedback from the leadership has been "interesting, very interesting, let's see how we can use this..."

SIMUL8 Review: Best Customer Service Ever!

Zach:                                                  Hi, my name is Zach. I am a technical program manager. I work for a very large company and I give Simul8 a five out of five. I discovered Simul8 through my manager. He directed me to utilize the software to maximize our throughput and build a schedule for our daily output. After being directed to dive in, I reached out to Simul8 team, and from there the relationship started to flourish.
                                                       The reasons why I love Simul8 is it's such a crazy technical program, but it is such user-friendly. I have zero coding experience. I joke around saying I'm a caveman when it comes to coding, but with the visual learning and logic that Simul8 has built in and how user-friendly it is, I can go in and I immediately know what I'm doing. I immediately know how to understand and read the code. The user-friendly interface, everything about it is just so user-friendly that it is very refreshing for on the surface level, looking so hard and complex, but never judge a book by its cover. Open it, and very easy to use right out of the packaging.
                                                       Getting Simul8 set it up in the beginning was one of the easiest programs I've ever had to get started. I did the research online. I went through their academy online and if I had any questions, I'd reach out to the team. They would reply back fast. Even though they're based in Europe and I'm on the west coast of the United States, time difference did not matter. They would answer the questions. As of right now, I could reach out to them and I will get an answer back ASAP. Truly the friendliest company I've interacted with and just outright, everything is just... It blows my mind. It honestly leaves me speechless on how amazing, easy and friendly Simul8 and the company is, the program and the company.
                                                       If I had to give advice to anybody looking out to see if Simul8 is the right program for them, I'd reach out to the customer service team and they will get back to you fast. They're based out of Europe, but it does not matter where you're in the world. You could be even in space, they'll get back to you instantly. If they don't know the answer, they will tell you, "Hey, I may not know it right this moment, but I will get back to you," and they will absolutely get back to you. Some of the friendliest, kindest, courteous people I've ever met, and I am very happy to be developing a relationship with them and their company.
