What is SPDocKit?
SPDocKit is an on-premise data management tool designed to help enterprises automate administration tasks, create documentation, and maintain an audit log of actions performed across files or folders in SharePoint. Administrators can compare web applications or site collections, permissions between list items or sites and settings across structured query language (SQL), and internet information services (IIS), among other servers, and export results in PDF or Microsoft Excel format.
SPDocKit allows organizations to create documentation with information about search topology, web applications, site settings, farm administrators, security, workflows, site collections, database permissions, and more. Supervisors can use the dashboard to track the number of servers, detect issues related to farm security, availability, or configuration, and rank databases based on size in the form of tiles and charts. Managers can also filter, analyze or sort users' activities and receive alerts in case of mismatch across settings according to best practices and Microsoft recommendations.
Using SPDocKit, businesses can gain visibility into recently viewed documents, number of edits, hierarchical structure for site collections, database size, occupied storage, and other metrics through reports. Administrators can also set up a custom retention policy for audit logs, detect malicious behavior to ensure data security, and view a list of site visitors on a unified platform.
