Rocket Matter makes it very easy in our law practice to do new client intakes, use cloud storage to create digital versions of our files, keep real-time notes, check for potential conflicts, message within the office, reconcile our bookkeeping, send payments, and merge documents all in one place.

Many years ago Rocket matter was brought to my attention as a billing, time management and accounting tool for Mac users. Since then it has grown and has outgrown its reputation as a Mac program while not outgrowing its utility for Mac Users.  

Tracking time, billing, calendaring, assigning tasks, everything is basically accessible anywhere you are in the system.

Rocke Mmatter streamlined our billing process so that what used to take 4-5 days per month (I kid you not) with Quickbooks Professional for law offices , now takes a few hours.

cannot deactivate some features e.g. trust accounts showing on the invoices when there are no trust account entries on the file.

This is not something that I dislike, just a possible future need, but it would be handy for a user to have the ability to enter time to be tentatively held in a comprehensive list format for each client that particular day and then later have each entry either accepted, denied or edited by a supervisor prior to billing.

Rocket Matter has been excellent for our firm and it allows us to maintain excellent billing practices while maintaining everything in an organized fashion.

Accounting feature does not integrate well with QUICKBOOKS.

We have had some issue with the calendaring function, i.e., calendaring matters only to have them disappear from our calendar.

RM looks great on the surface, but once you begin using same,  you will find it is inefficient, clunky and not at all robust.

I also love the layout, being able to customize, the drop-down feature helps keep me organized and the page clean.

Client information management; Google Calendar integration; Gmail Integration; Timekeeping; and Billing.

When I go into the system to edit an entry, it takes me back to the beginning of the document and does not keep me at that entry I edited.

The convenience of practice management software generally -- consolidating bookkeeping, CRM, calendar, and more under one software roof.

too many glitches, sometimes the templates do not lowland properly and the search bar glitches does not show clients we have open matters for

Task list is terrible.   When you link into a matter from the dashboard and go back, it takes you back to the standard list of 30 tasks and not where you left off.  

I have worked at places that did not have a billing system like this and it required some guesswork as to how much I worked on a case or to pull out a phone or stopwatch to log hours.

What is most useful to me is the billing aspect of it: keeping time and processing invoices and payments.

Also, when entering time on multiple accounts one after the other, the system will freeze and I have to wait a few minutes for it to catch up.

No fault of RocketMatter, but I feel it could be even better if I was able to download software to my computer and everything wasn't online.   When the internet is slow, entering my billable time takes much longer.

You have to use another​ person's name connected with the file to find it.   And, the connection freezes and gets very slow on occasion (not my system).

I would like for the sign in button to be put higher up on the home page to avoid having to scroll the entire home page prior to signing in.

Missing seamless feature of having multiple persons as clients for the same matter (i.e., two spouses).  

At times it is difficult to use the email integration for searching emails due to our volume of emails.

They don't appear to be updating it, as they have "planned upgrades" listed as upcoming in the future (more API connections) that they released a year or more ago.

Setting up matters - I would like to see a template that allows you to set hourly rates for employees.

As an assistant that may work on the road sometimes, its nice to see any notifications that come across my phone to determine if it needs to be addressed ASAP.

I hate that as it is difficult to always remember whatever password I have for various apps and programs because so many require to change.

I would prefer the ability to use some of this space to show more information about my running timers.

From my research, all of the practice management software requires other software and most of that software requires a subscription.

The accompanying phone app is horrendous. If it could have even half the options that the site has it would be such an asset.

The multi view timer is the most beneficial in tracking client time.

For example, I use the words "receive and review" for every time I receive something from the court, another lawyer, and so forth.   

I’m able to track my matters and handle billing in a straightforward way.

As a legal assistant, I use Rocket Matter to enter my time for services performed on client matters.
