Like Mailchimp, Emma is extremely user-friendly; I like that it's also a little simpler and has less of a learning curve overall.
Emma lacks some of the more robust fine-tuning features of Mailchimp, so it's better suited to more straightforward campaigns (as opposed to varied, multi-faceted ones).

We do multiple enewsletters but the formatting and styling options are passé and lame.
Emma makes it easy to divide audience into small segments
It looks like the platform is still a Beta test - multiple features are glitchy and the visual editor doesn't even come close to MailChimp or ConstantContact.

It's intuitive and easy to learn. Allows you to design beautiful emails and newsletters without knowing code. The customer service team is great, and there are great trainings and webinars available.
Some of the features are more limited than other products. Coming from MailChimp, I wished that I could play around with Emma's templates and code a bit more than what's accessible.

I like the "click map" that is sort of a "heat map" of where the audience is clicking within the emails.
Overall it is pretty clunky with a lack of design elements. I feel like it is kind of like a first generation MailChimp, but not quite as dated as Constant Contact.

Overall very positive. The cost is very competitive and most of our divisions and departments are actually paying less through Emma than they were with services like Constant Contact (we do cost-sharing).
Very robust and meets the need of supporting multiple divisions and user groups. We share branded templates globally to get beginners up and running quickly. Feedback is consistently positive that the system is very, very easy to use. Less support issues overall.
Small issue but it doesn't support multiple users logged into the same campaign in the way that MailChimp did. If two users both log into the same campaign they could overwrite each others work.

The tutorials are concise. The tactics blog sharp af. Neither is the case with MailChimp, which isn't bad either. I guess Emma just has the right vibe, if I can ever get to the tutorial and set it up lol
No one's around at night when I work on these things to authorize a few hours of free trial so I can go tell my supervisor to pay for it and get it over with. Beyond that, we'll figure out sales forth if there's a hard product market that exists that I'm not seeing anyways...

If you're looking for an alternative ESP and are tired of MailChimp, Klaviyo, or Constant Contact, then you really should give Emma a try. We've had a very pleasant experience with Emma, and their staff is there to answer questions for you any time of day. They are extremely knowledgeable and can help with the most complex requests.
The thing i like most about Emma is how easy things are to manage. The UI is laid out in a way that makes it very straightforward to get what you need to do, done. ;) Things are laid out in a very easy to understand way.
We don't like the creeping cost of Emma. That is really the only thing that we don't like about Emma.

(continued) - They have a field for custom preview text, but it doesn't work for all email providers. - Has integrations with very few third-party platforms. - Automation workflow rules lack some basic functionalities (for example, send THIS given XXYZ open conditions are met)Etc. - Doesn't allow you to personalize Subject Lines or descriptions - Only A/B testing available is for subject lines
The WYSIWYG is easy to use. It has the basic email marketing functionalities.
This platform is quite primitive. I absolutely DO NOT recommend it. I can't wait to switch to something else once our subscription is up. If you're an absolute beginner to email marketing or not a marketing person but rather someone taking on marketing responsibilities, then it's fine. Although Emma looks like a promising, professional platform, in reality, it is quite basic, too top-level (no specificity),...

I've used Mailchimp for about 12 years. I've also used Constant Contact and Emma. I liked that Emma gave me a live account rep. I liked that Constant Contact had a trustworthy legacy feel. But Mailchimp feels like home. It's a perfect combination of a boutique platform like Emma + a legacy system like Constant Contact. They have a stellar free-level package (up to 2,000 addresses) that makes them a no-brainer go-to for any small or start-up company.
Mailchimp has easy and intuitive drag-and-drop campaign building blocks that make it easy to create professional emails and campaign landing pages. It's easy to connect Mailchimp to your online store to embed products, customize campaigns to folks who've opted in to lists or purchased particular products at your online store, and you can automate complete email/landing page chains. What you're able...
Any gripe I might have with Mailchimp is the same gripe I would have with any email platform. I would like their email and landing page-building software (or web-building software) to be as intuitive as Squarespace, which is honestly a whole other level of drag-and-drop, so perhaps a pipe dream. Over the years, I also haven't felt like I had a good support option. Their help page goes to the Mailchimp...

Good experience!
I like how it is very user friendly for beginners. I also like the free initial account. When I first started using it, I had just started my business and the free account was a nice perk. I used mailchimp for an additional 6 years once my free account turned into a paid account.
I feel like competitors like Constant Contact and Emma are making strides to be innovative and Mailchimp has stayed behind.

Overall it provided a good service for the price. We ended up moving to Emma for a more enterprise based solution but we still recommend MailChimp for smaller groups that need a cheap and easy to use solution with analytics support.
Web based templates that supported our RSS feeds helped reduce our internal workloads considerably. Not all web based email marketing vendors support this. Niche feature but very helpful in our case. Mailchimp also supports multiple users being logged into the same campaign which was helpful for collaborating. Analytics were very helpful compared to our previous email vendor.
The UI could be flakey at times and we had some minor technical support issues. Support could be a bit slow to respond and not always good about escalating if they couldn't find a solution.

It has helped me a lot in lead generation and nutrition.
- Separation of leads by segment; - Separation by list; - Integrated landing pages; - Forms included; - Wide integrations.
Even the free Mailchimp plan serves small and medium businesses very well. The improvement points would be better and more landing page options!

We have tried a lot of mail marketing platforms and MailChimp was our winner. The big plus is that we can easy use many different modern templates to prepare our campaigns
Some of our mails wasn't received by our clients, because they was in "junk", but we resolved this problem with the steps provided by Mailchimp.

Templated emails for non-developers are easy to create and manage; also, more customized emails are easy to create for devs with some very basic HTML knowledge
Easy to get started for both small lists managed by an individual, or large lists managed by a marketing team with multiple users
The pricing tiers jump up quite often; it would be nice if there were larger gaps in the amount of contacts that could be added to a list before going to the next tier

This tool offers an easy way to import lists and use templates to make mass mailing easy. no complex html coding is required to make a functional good looking template. Report on who clicks, registers, views and unsubscribes provide summary or detailed data to help hone your strategy.
Easy templates, step by step guides
Some of the integration options make it easy to accidentally add too many addresses to your list (which suspends your account until you pay or get help to delete the list)

Overall Mailchimp has been a wonderful and effective tool to use. Whenever I get a new subscriber, it's Mailchimp that lets me communicate with them.
I've tried a couple different mailing tools, and found Mailchimp to be the best value. The easy to use interface, as well as the simplicity of setting up campaigns and autoresponders, all tie together to create an effective, enterprise level mailing utility.
The only limiting features are those mandated by anti-spam regulations.

Good tool to send email campaigns in real time or scheduled. you can segment the campaigns by activity and also by response from previous shipments
It's a bit expensive to conduct mass campaigns. Although it has the free shipping option, you are limited in terms of the number of contacts that can be sent

I love that the Mailchimp allows you to build a decent email list and create a lot of email campaigns before they charge you. I know they probably make it up in the long run once you build a decent list, but this is super generous to me.
Sometimes the distinction between different organization options aren't very clear by the name or by the description. Like I still don't fully understand when I would use a group verse a segment.
