We send out monthly HTML emails blast to our donors and this could replace Mailchimp for us.
This could potentially replace mailchimp for us, we are looking for a more inexpensive alternative to Mailchimp.
It doesn’t have a powerfull segmenting tool like Mailchimp and also the A\B testing is a little more difficult however it’s still a great alternative.
Hello Mohammed, Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback for us, we greatly appreciate it. All the best, Carlos, Customer Marketing Manager

Having used it for a few years, it served us well. Was it my favorite? No. I think it honestly comes down to the features. If iContact has more of what you're looking for, you should try it out.
The feature set is iContact's strong suit. It includes all the tools -- good tools -- for email marketing.
It's not nearly as easy to use as Mailchimp. However, if I had never used Mailchimp before, I wouldn't have any complaints.

Don't give your creditcard number to these people! They will gladly let the renewal date pass without sending any alert, even if your account has been inactive for 6 months, and will bill your VISA for 900 dollars without any notice.
It's a standard mailsending platform. Comparable to Mailchimp and YMLP.
They are less "on the ball" than for example Mailchimp. New features or trends in webdesign/email (for example responsive layout) are implemented way after the competition.

This was a simple to use software for email building and list management.
It seemed really limited and couldn't do as much as I remember mailchimp having. I

Easy to use editor. Easy to preview what emails will look like on devices.
I also use MailChimp and find iContact's editing and email preview features to be superior. Also my email designs seem to look better when received if I created in iContact instead of MailChimp. I use both, depending on the client.
Could be less expensive for low end users? Perhaps adopt a 'freemium' pricing model? When it's a small client it's hard to justify the expense, even though it's better.

I switched to Mailchimp because of how it allows me to create and send email sequences.
I like how it allows me to send very basic emails to groups of customers. It is also very easy to use.
Overall, the software wasn’t right for me. I don’t like how I can’t track many metrics and UTM variables.

It's probably the best. Mailchimp is just not as intuitive, and the help system there is skimpy
This product is designed for people that like to do it themselves, but want help when they get stuck
I wish there was a better way to insert images into a paragraph as a left or right justified image

A simplified way to use an email platform system. It's organized and keeps me on track for goals.
It's pretty simple and user-friendly to build an email. I also like the analytics feature. It is very useful that I'm able to export lists to my team also. It's a very organized system.
I have found that my emails are more likely to end up in spam with IContact than when I used MailChimp.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review! We are delighted to hear that you find iContact to be so well organized. We absolutely want to make learning and continuing to work with our system as straightforward as possible. We also welcome your feedback concerning emails going into spam. We have a Deliverability team that focuses on maintaining the best inbox delivery rates that we can achieve. We are happy to pass this information along to them so it can be taken into account while we consistently work to advance our product.

Love the systematic, logical, and flexible nature of it.
Many-to-many relationships of all entities (except subscription to one list). Very flexible. Also ability to select multiple segments or exclude them.
Would like to be able to insert an image with text scrolling around it. ((Captions do not do that.) MailChimp allows this!
Charles, Thank you for your honest review! We will be sure to pass along your product feedback to our product team.

iContact is great in terms of features, customer support, and ease of use. If you can afford it, go for it. It will eventually pay off.
I have been using iContact for over 3 years now and never had any major issues with them. Email marketing gets a whole lot easier with iContact's features and amazing tools. The best thing about iContact is the ease of use. You can get started without any training. They have kept things simple, user-friendly, and their interface is top-notch. Drag-and-drop builder is another reason why its hard to...
My only concern is price. It is expensive as compared to other email marketing services. Additionally, they don't have any free plan. Most of their competitors have like MailChimp and mailerlite.

It's been good and I have been going back and forth between MailChimp. I do prefer iContact for the pricing but the template creation could bump up it's game a little bit.
I think adding in contacts, whether it be one or several, is very easy. I love that it weeds out the duplicates for me, especially with the system I have to copy and paste the contact info from.
The software doesn't work right in Google Chrome which is slightly inconvenient since I work out of Chrome 99% of the day. I have to use Microsoft Edge to use the software correctly. And the templates, while nice they can be strict and unforgiving. The spacing in between Enter's is a little large and out of control too. And the issue with not posting a picture to the Facebook anymore is beyond annoying. I have to take the archived URL and then put that into Facebook and then I can input a picture. It was better when they made it look like an article on Facebook.

Love it. It's easy to use and the reporting options make my post-campaign job easy. In past jobs I've used Mailchimp and Constant Contact, however iContact is much better in my opinion. There are less restrictions on designing the email while still having an easy to use WYSIWYG with drag and drop functionality.
The reporting. When I need to throw stats on Power Point I just take a screen shot of the results page. It also has the ability to compare the results of multiple messages with just a couple clicks. Everything is well formatted, graphical and very informative.
Can get cluttered if you are sending a bunch of emails. We send emails on behalf of dozens of clients, often the same subject line. I'd love a way to better organize our drafts and our sent messages.

So, my client was trying to decide between iContact, Mailchimp and other SMB email tools and decided to start the project with iContact -iContact has a really user-friendly interface that's easy to navigate, even for people who aren't super tech-savvy.-They offer decent customer support, and we were able to get in touch with a real human whenever we needed help or had questions (we've put them to the test) -The reporting and analytics features are really robust, and it was easy to track our email campaigns and see how they were performing. The pricing was pretty parred with other SMB email tools so we felt like we were getting good value for our money.
1)While the interface is user-friendly, there are some limitations when it comes to design customization2) We weren't able to make our emails look quite as polished as we might have liked.3) It can take a little while to get used to the platform if you're used to more visual ones 4) if you're after a marketing automation syle hubspot , iContact won't offer that level of sophistication
Thank you taking the time to write a review and let us know what you like and also for the product feedback. We will be sure to pass that along!

Makes responsive emails quickly, once you create your basic template/style Customer Service & Account reps are friendly Good value I used MailChimp elsewhere before iContact and I think iContact's pretty good. They updated the email designer this past year with a responsive drag and drop format that makes our emails easier to view on mobile devices and easier for the less digital-savvy members of the team to use. We send a lot of emails to a lot of people and really don't pay that much to do it. Other services may offer more bells and whistles --I don't know, I haven't looked -- but for where we are now, we're satisfied. For perspective, our usual list has <70,000 emails on it, and we send a couple times a month.
Creating list segments is tough without planning ahead Bullets don't center with the text Not 100% customizable, but hey, it's responsive! Integrate social sending with Hootsuite or Nuvi (<-- wishlist item)
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We're happy to hear that you're enjoying the drag-and-drop editor and that you're finding our customer service so helpful. We also appreciate the suggestions you mentioned and will keep them in mind as we continue to enhance our offering. Thanks for being such a loyal customer.

E-newsletters for school families! Excellent. Way better than our experience with iContact.
It's very easy to grasp and use. The tutorial is just right and everything is intuitive. It's been awesome. Spam-proof so that your messages are less likely to end up in your contacts' spam folders.
When I have a template with a side-bar, I never know what size image I can put on the body copy side that does NOT make the sidebar copy reflow to the bottom of the message. There seems to be a size that's too big but nothing says you've crossed that line until you see it after you've sent the e-newsletter to your contacts.

Setting up the initial email (announcing new blog posts) was a bit of a chore to get it right. After that, updating is a breeze.
Mailchimp has been regularly improving by simplifying menus, adding contextual help, and providing flexibility.
I found a slightly greater learning curve than when I started ConstantContact and iContact. But after a few iterations, find MailChimp just as easy.

Due to its integration with our client database system it has been a no-brainer to use over icontact or constant contact. Both of which we have used in the past.
Mailchimp has partnered with our client database system that we can send mailouts directly from our database rather than having to import all of our contacts to the Mailchimp server.
It still limits us to the number of emails even though it is integrated with our database software.

I have used MailChimp for several different companies. I have also used competing paid services. Mailchimp is every bit as good as Constant Contact and IContact. Great features and functionality. Not always intuitive, but the features are there. And you can't beat free.

The ability to automate campaigns is very helpful for small businesses and startups. For example, sending the messages at pre-determined intervals or re-sending coupons that haven't been used, etc.
MailChimp is a good basic tool to get started in email marketing. There's a decent variety of pre-made templates that can be customized for your needs. The navigation is pretty straightforward, and the testing and analytics simple to use and understand.
If you're used to using a platform like iContact or ConstantContact, MailChimp's navigation and flow is much different, so it takes some getting used to. The ability to do what you want with the templates can be limited compared with those platforms, so you do have to stick to pretty basic layouts. The interface is also a bit clunky.

MailChimp is the industry standard for a reason, and you get all the benefits you would expect from going with a big brand name. Solid customer support (for paid tiers), excellent uptime, and all the features you need and most of the features you want. I personally have never found the landing pages or social media ad features useful, and I do not think MailChimp can effectively do the job of a CRM, but as far as email marketing goes, this is my favorite.
Getting started with MailChimp is easy and affordable. It might be free depending on your audience size. I have used other email platforms like ConstantContact, iContact, Marketing Cloud, and HubSpot, and in terms of features MailChimp is at least on par with them. MailChimp is a full email marketing platform, including subscriber management and segmenting, email design, design asset library, email...
Pricing can get steep at certain stages of business growth. Switching to business and pro tiers incurs a sharp increase in monthly pricing, and in addition you get charged more as your list grows. Cost creep can be sudden and shocking for truly bootstrapped businesses. A big potential issue is that MailChimp has been touting itself as a CRM lately. I do not think it makes a good CRM replacement for...
