- Ease of use. - Easy to deploy multiple campaigns at once. - Mini CRM to manage all your contacts and their tags.
- Lack of integrations. - Support takes too long to get back to you. - The mini CRM is useful but could be improved by giving the ability to add custom fields like HubSpot or Zoho.

Cost effective and easy to integrate. Cheap way of having a CRM.
HubSpot is better for a CRM at free tier and whenever I report bugs, some very major, they are terrible at handling them and never fix. We even had emails defaulting to black backgrounds with black text and no one fixed it. This is a bug for many people.

We have been using Mailchimp for some time now as we see it as a very simple user-friendly tool for our marketing campaigns. The only thing missing for us is a better integration with our CRM system.

Overall we had success using Mailchimp, but ultimately had to focus most of our attention over to a CRM (HubSpot) that better integrates with our whole team. MailChimp is great if your only intent is to use it for marketing, but our needs required more functionality for team collaboration.
- Ease of use in creating well designed emails with minimal effort. Templates set you up for success. - Highly customizable emails allow you to create the appearance of mass emails being tailored for the individual - Email metrics and data after each campaign are highly detailed and help inform for future campaigns. (open rate, click rate, unsubscribe rate, etc.)
- Price ramp up is steep and when you get off the free plan it can get very pricy - Doesn't integrate with CRMs (like HubSpot) well and data must be ported over. Doesn't always port over with their engagement history which complicates things. - Discourages the use of cold lists through their platform and freezes account if bounce/unsub rate is too high even if cold list complies with CAN-SPAM regulations.

It's been pretty easy to use for our MKTG team and myself. Good option and the aesthetics of the content we send out are always solid
The data is easy to see and understand. The ability to go in and and adjust, edit campaigns is quick and easy
More on the CRM we use side of things - but the integration to our CRM is not available on the tier CRM we use. I will be looking more into MailChimp's own CRM at some point

Wouldn't recommend a different software like Hubspot over this one!
I have used many different marketing campaign tools during implementations and nobody has a better tool for easy set up and teaching. Very good for young businesses.
I haven't found many things this software can't do when it comes to segmentation of leads and customer data.

It is great for sending simple campaigns especially because it is so easy to setup and free to use (depending on contact list size). Cheap is always good.
If you just need to send an email to a single list of contacts on a weekly or monthly basis it is great. Easy to import contacts or collect from your website. The design tool is easy to use and it will show you how well your campaigns are doing.
Advanced management of contacts is difficult through the tagging method and sending customized campaigns becomes difficult. Importing contacts from lists that overlap in my business software (ie. all clients, versus clients that purchased a specific item) becomes cumbersome and time consuming. I prefer a true CRM software like Hubspot for more advanced marketing strategy.

Very very disapointing, I would never use mailchimp now that I found hubspot, I think Hubspot is user friendly and shows you where to go to learn to use the interface.
It promised a lot, however as a kinethetic person I couldnt evaluate the program within the trial and see if I was getting any results, not even in sending a message, so I ditched the whole idea of Mailchimping my email.
Couldnt send out emails on free trial to see if I liked it.

I have used MailChimp religiously for over three years. I have never had a problem with them and they have allowed me to send high-quality emails for a low cost.
Mailchimp is incredibly easy to use and creates extremely high-quality emails for a great price. While it is limited compared to a CRM like HubSpot, it creates far better content. The email templates you can create look amazing and the MailChimp branding isn't nearly as prevalent as you might see on HubSpot. For a small business, you can use the free option and be completely taken care of. They even have website integrations that allow a subscription popup to appear on your site to encourage email campaign subscriptions.
I think my only complaint would be the audience features. It can be a bit confusing to add contacts and filter them. But that's a minor problem.

I like it better than Hubspot because its quicker to use.
SO easy to work with and very easy to set up. Easier to use than Hubspot, and has great analytics tracking.
The way you respond to emails from customers replying could be modified to work better.

Great tool, expensive, but worth it. May explore some cheaper options soon.
It does everything you may want out of a campaign tool. Easy to setup, modify, templatize ccampaigns etc..
It didnt integrate the particular CRm that we had been using, but probably on our end, as its a smaller CRM.

My overall experience with Mailchimp was a positive one. It worked well with our CRM, and was well supported by their sales and service teams. We used Mailchimp to drive email marketing efforts and, in turn, drive inbound leads and software demo requests. It was incredibly successful, as the company has continued to grow throughout our time of using mailchimp. Additionally, we saw an increase in inbound leads each month over the first 12 months of using Mailchimp. While the send and contact restriction did cause some frustration and delays, the overall experience was quite positive. I would recommend Mailchimp to other companies.
What I liked most about Mailchimp was it's ease of use (for our applications) and the company's customer service. It was very easy to use Mailchimp in conjunction with our CRM, HubSpot to help our email marketing efforts. We would sort, export, and download targeted lists of customers from HubSpot and upload those lists to Mailchimp. This process was incredibly easy and allowed us to be more efficient and timely with our email marketing campaigns. Additionally, any time we had any questions or issues about Mailchimp, their customer service and sales teams were always incredibly helpful and quick to respond.
What I liked least about this software was the pricing plan restrictions. My software company had a very, very large customer and prospect base. We targeted many different markets with a large number of people within each organization. Our software could be used by entire companies, so reaching out to many different decision makers or users was an effective marketing strategy. However, the pricing...

I love that it is free for a certain amount of emails. It also has really great templates for my marketing emails and helps me with my subject line. The best part is that it tells me who has opened my emails and what they clicked on. This helps me be more effective in the future

Reliable system. Emails go out relatively quickly.
It's relatively easy to attach items such as calendar invites, PDF attachments, links, images. Preview mode is accurate
We cannot link emails to our CRM. We would like to track readability, what was sent to each client and when. All to be linked on our CRM.

I have used MailChimp in the early stages of several companies in the past. Usually to do email campaigns, or automated emails. The ease of use and the stats make it easy to make, send and follow up campaigns, and the integrations provide the ability to track campaigns. Recently, I have decided to cut Mailchimp and replace this with HubSpot since the additional value was limited. I still use it for some other, smaller, projects
The ease of use makes MailChimp a go-to for getting started with email marketing. The features are easy to access and the design is intuitive. The statistics that you get from all your mailings is awesome, and so are the email builder.
The ROI from investing in MailChimp when you get larger and it really start costing money is questionable. If you use advanced CRMs like HubSpot, this tool is really not giving that much further functionality. If you use MailChimp for only email marketing (automated or otherwise) and landing pages, AND use a fairly advanced and modern CRM, the increase in value you get from using Mailchimp is limited

Mailchimp is a great tool for mass email campaigns. It provides great analytics and manages unsubscribers to maintain Canned Spam Act compliance. A great email tool.
I inherited a poor CRM system with a difficult email platform. We use Mailchimp to create, send and manage our email campaigns when possible. We like how it’s easy to create emails compared to our CRM’s email builder. We also like how it helps us manage unsubscribers.
Unfortunately, our current CRM does not allow us to integrate with Mailchimp. We are implementing anew CRM system, which has a robust email tool. Eventually, we will be switching from Mailchimp.

I'm always a fan of when a software product focuses on doing what they do and doing it well. Mailchimp is a clear example of that. They have remained a consistently strong player in the email marketing space, providing intuitive and easy-to-use software for helping businesses of all sizes and industries with their email marketing goals.
I have found that the strength of Mailchimps integration with CRM platforms varies from platform to platform, so I would encourage users to test-drive it with their unique CRM instance.

First of all, the product is free and comes with tons of features. It is integrated with Gmail, and it can do the job of checking profiles of leads, making a call, sending an email and scheduling a task. I like its user interface because it is so easy to use. I haven't used all of the functions of Hubspot CRM yet but so far, I like the tool. Easy setup is what I love too.
I wish somehow it can be integrated with MailChimp. It may be quite expensive if you use other products of Hubspot.

Only heartaches and a demoralized workforce.
They have lots of support agents to make you feel like the mess can be fixed. The truth is they are trying to fix a plane while flying it and you get to watch your business crash.
They are a predator company and what we are trying to drive out of the ecommerce space. They charge tons for what services like mailchimp offer for free.
