Mailchimp is a well-known marketing platform with strong e-commerce capabilities and AI-powered features, which make it a terrific hub for multichannel email marketing.
Mailchimp is relatively expensive compared to its competitors, but in the end paying a little more is worth it.

We had a hard time using Mailchimp due to our industry. They restricted a lot of content for CBD.
Full marketing hub which is really convenient. Flexible pricing. Allows merchants to easily create campaigns. Its very user friendly.
Way too restrictive for my industry. Lackluster email templates. We found that the email creation aspect could be more attractive.

- Very easy to learn and use, by far the best interface for email campaigning - Template designer is the most functional of all the ones I've used before - Easy to import data
- Can get pricey with higher plans and larger contact bases - Not as advanced as HubSpot or other marketing automation solutions with email marketing built-in - Segmenting lists can be a little annoying

One of the best things about Mailchimp is the free pricing tier. No one else lets you use so many features of their platform to start your business' email marketing for free!
Mailchimp has become a robust marketing hub after the recent changes and I love the templates and customizations that are possible now.
Since they've updated and added so much more, I have no issues with the software. If anything, I feel it has become my new favorite.

Like the dealing of the mailout campaigns to date. Tried other methods but return to Mailchimp for ease of use.
It links to our hubspot marketing structure and really enhances our inbound marketing strategies. Easy to set up, track and action. Cant see why people would not use Mailchimp
At this stage it seems pretty intuitive. The design templates could be a bit more pro active for us non-designers.

Having tested most email marketing tools, this is by far the easiest and best to use. It blows HubSpot out of the water!
Easy to use, competitive pricing, transparency, and helpful reporting. This is the email tool I always recommend!
I wish there were more, updated templates. Also, it would be great to get help when cleaning up mailing lists.

It has helped me get small clients using email. That has helped them improve ROI on working with me.
I love using mailchimp to start email marketing for smb clients that have nothing happening on that front. It is the easiest and best way to get started in my opinion
Mailchimp is lacking in marketing automation features that I need for most of the roles I have worked in, so I use Pardot, Marketo, Hubspot for email marketing typically. That doesn't make mailchimp bad though, it just doesn't have the same functionality as those other tools.

Great for use with our smaller marketing needs where we don't necessarily want to mix contacts with our HubSpot account and pay for more instances.
Great email marketing tool for smaller needs or those just getting started and not sure what exactly they want or need. Easy to create lists, segments, emails campaigns and more.
Limited in terms of logic and smart segmenting, but that's to be accepted with the free version. You can upgrade to have access to more features though.

Although Mailchimp is probably the first tool that springs to mind when I think 'email marketing' there is other software out there that I prefer. I would personally prefer to use an all-in-one platform like HubSpot which includes a brilliant email marketing tool with better automation.
- Mailchimp offers in-depth and thorough reporting and analytics of your emails - User friendly dashboard - Good value for money, especially for those with fewer subscribers (2000 or less) as you can send up to 10,000 emails - Mailchimp offers a clean interface and the editor is easy to use and really useful especially if you're new to email marketing or have limited time to design up nice looking emails - Useful drag and drop editor - No coding knowledge required, Mailchimp offers a wide range of customisable email templates - Option to get personalised advice by filling out some information about your business, Mailchimp will give you tips and insights to help grow your business faster which is a handy feature
- Automation is limited and not particularly easy to manage, you're probably better off using other software if this is important to your business - Can quickly become expensive the higher your email count and subscriber list gets - Limited font options unless you know HTML, fine for us to add into the source code but if you didn't have that knowledge I can imagine it would be slightly frustrating

My overall experience with Mailchimp was a positive one. It worked well with our CRM, and was well supported by their sales and service teams. We used Mailchimp to drive email marketing efforts and, in turn, drive inbound leads and software demo requests. It was incredibly successful, as the company has continued to grow throughout our time of using mailchimp. Additionally, we saw an increase in inbound leads each month over the first 12 months of using Mailchimp. While the send and contact restriction did cause some frustration and delays, the overall experience was quite positive. I would recommend Mailchimp to other companies.
What I liked most about Mailchimp was it's ease of use (for our applications) and the company's customer service. It was very easy to use Mailchimp in conjunction with our CRM, HubSpot to help our email marketing efforts. We would sort, export, and download targeted lists of customers from HubSpot and upload those lists to Mailchimp. This process was incredibly easy and allowed us to be more efficient and timely with our email marketing campaigns. Additionally, any time we had any questions or issues about Mailchimp, their customer service and sales teams were always incredibly helpful and quick to respond.
What I liked least about this software was the pricing plan restrictions. My software company had a very, very large customer and prospect base. We targeted many different markets with a large number of people within each organization. Our software could be used by entire companies, so reaching out to many different decision makers or users was an effective marketing strategy. However, the pricing...

We had a good experience with the MailChimp. Earlier, I tried couple of marketing tools Hubspot, sendgrid but this UI is easy and the support is also approachable. We received a quick issue resolves while at the time of campaign creations.
The best marketing automation platform which helped me to reach more clients. We can automate the emails according to our choice. We can set a campaign and can schedule the campaign anytime hassle free
No cons has noticed even the pricing is good while compare with other email marketing tools.

For companies looking to move beyond basic batch and blast email marketing without the commitment and expenditure of more robust technology packages (Marketo, Hubspot, Pardot, etc), MailChimp is easy to use platform that gives you basic marketing automation functionality at a fraction of the price. Companies looking to invest in marketing automation might first consider Mailchimp as a way of proving the broader concept of automation before moving on to enterprise level technology.

Mailchimp for email marketing has been pretty great. It gets businesses into an email program easily and effectively.
Mailchimp has or is becoming the gold standard for email marketing. It is very easy to use and build out campaigns. It has come a long way in the marketing automation game. While not professing to be a HubSpot or Sharp Spring, it is definitely stepping on their toes. The integrated email automations and funneling are a big advantage for Mailchimp over other email platforms.
Two main things stand out. The social integration breaks almost every campaign use. Client's social profiles are connected correctly, yet when set with an email to include a social social send, it almost always breaks and gives an error after the campaign is completed saying something like "there is an issue with your campaign, social connections not correct". Super frustrating. 2nd, at the higher end usage (i.e. 10s of thousands of contacts), Mailchimp gets quite expensive.

Overall, I couldn't imagine a better tool for our business (small-to-midsized). Whether we're sending drip campaign emails, payment reminders, mass email marketing, or simple survey emails, this is our tool of choice, bar none. I can't recommend MailChimp's suite of tools enough.
MailChimp has literally become our hub for ABM. It's extremely intuitive, and the integrations suite is so deep, that it has both the company I work for and my personal business covered. Their templates make it easy to get started if you don't have a plan already. Their segmentation tools are truly next level, and the reporting is the best at this price point (at least compared to Marketo and Hubspot).
They are very picky about leads that you use through their software, so make sure that you have done email validation on your data set before you run it through their platform, or they will ding you for it.

MailChimp is a very effective email marketing tool. It is very easy to setup and get it started. With the out of the box layouts it is easy to make and send nice-looking and professional emails. It also gives you many statistics so that you can track and improve your email marketing activities.
Of course marketing is much more than only email marketing. It's just a tool to help you in your marketing strategy.

Wouldn't recommend a different software like Hubspot over this one!
I have used many different marketing campaign tools during implementations and nobody has a better tool for easy set up and teaching. Very good for young businesses.
I haven't found many things this software can't do when it comes to segmentation of leads and customer data.

Very very disapointing, I would never use mailchimp now that I found hubspot, I think Hubspot is user friendly and shows you where to go to learn to use the interface.
It promised a lot, however as a kinethetic person I couldnt evaluate the program within the trial and see if I was getting any results, not even in sending a message, so I ditched the whole idea of Mailchimping my email.
Couldnt send out emails on free trial to see if I liked it.

It is great for sending simple campaigns especially because it is so easy to setup and free to use (depending on contact list size). Cheap is always good.
If you just need to send an email to a single list of contacts on a weekly or monthly basis it is great. Easy to import contacts or collect from your website. The design tool is easy to use and it will show you how well your campaigns are doing.
Advanced management of contacts is difficult through the tagging method and sending customized campaigns becomes difficult. Importing contacts from lists that overlap in my business software (ie. all clients, versus clients that purchased a specific item) becomes cumbersome and time consuming. I prefer a true CRM software like Hubspot for more advanced marketing strategy.

I used this software several years ago but at the time it had a limited scope. Since that time they have made vast improvements and it's amazing how much more you can do with it now. It also integrates with my website, Shopify which is fantastic!
Like all software programs, it does have a learning curve, but is very intuitive. I wish it had an integration with Hub Spot CRM.

Overall I've had a very good experience with Mailchimp. I've been able to streamline my entire email marketing plan into one easy and productive process, and it has certainly helped increase sales and business opportunities. I would recommend it to anyone in need of marketing help.
My favorite part about Mailchimp is how easy it is to work with the software in conjunction with Hubspot. I was able to seamlessly export and download lists of potential customers from HubSpot and upload those lists to Mailchimp, which greatly aided our marketing process. In addition, the templates Mailchimp offers are numerous and really professional looking. Lastly, I love the reports that are quickly created showing stats of how the campaign is doing - it's really helpful to see results in such a short time so you can adjust and optimize your campaign.
The one real complaint I have is that the interface is not as intuitive as I would like. It's difficult sometimes to find a feature, and the tutorials are not incredibly helpful. Once you navigate your way around and get used to the software, you can obviously do whatever you need to do. But a more intuitive and easy to navigate interface would be helpful

Overall we had success using Mailchimp, but ultimately had to focus most of our attention over to a CRM (HubSpot) that better integrates with our whole team. MailChimp is great if your only intent is to use it for marketing, but our needs required more functionality for team collaboration.
- Ease of use in creating well designed emails with minimal effort. Templates set you up for success. - Highly customizable emails allow you to create the appearance of mass emails being tailored for the individual - Email metrics and data after each campaign are highly detailed and help inform for future campaigns. (open rate, click rate, unsubscribe rate, etc.)
- Price ramp up is steep and when you get off the free plan it can get very pricy - Doesn't integrate with CRMs (like HubSpot) well and data must be ported over. Doesn't always port over with their engagement history which complicates things. - Discourages the use of cold lists through their platform and freezes account if bounce/unsub rate is too high even if cold list complies with CAN-SPAM regulations.

Mailchimp has been a great cost effective alternative to more expensive solutions. We have started in the last 4 months utilizing Mailchimp for all mass emails to current clients and prospects. The ease of uploading lists, creating emails and sending is what makes Mailchimp useful. I think that some users could get confused as to whether they should use multiple audiences or tags within one audience. Outside of that, the tool is an easy win. Oh...my recommendation would be to have one audience for current clients and one audience for prospects. Then, use tags within those audiences to further segment.
I love how easy it is to import lists, create audiences and send out campaigns. We use Mailchimp for outbound marketing, as well as communications with current clients. I also think that the campaign/message templates are very valuable. I found this to be comparable to Hubspot for our needs, at a significantly lower pricepoint.
For me, understanding audiences and tagging was a bit of a learning curve. When you first get started, it can be a little confusing whether you need to create multiple audiences or one and tag them differently. Seems like tags are best for us.

I really like it.
It is so easy to use. It takes a few times to get everything exactly how you want it but it's so much easier to use than Mail Merges via Outlook or Thunderbird
I feel it focuses more on B2C vs. B2B marketing and would like to see more corporate marketing type functions.

The design side could be better, comparing examples like wordpress, Squarespace, mailchimp, etc. The collateral/file management system isn't ideal.
