Easy to set up and use, intuitive interface and nice email templates designer
Practically non existent customer support unlike other software, e.g. GetResponse or Omnisend

Mailchimp is just fine. I prefer omnisend and klaviyo.
Mailchimp is fairly easy to setup and their free platform is solid for businesses when they're first starting out.
I really dislike that you need to use zapier or another software in order to integrate with shopify.

Mailchimp was great and we didn't have too many complains. We ended up switching to Omnisend since that platform seemed more updated and we liked the reporting features better, though Mailchimp was still a good option.
We used Mailchimp for internal company communications. I liked the way the emails were easily customizable and how you could set up different email groups of people.
We didn't love the reporting aspect of Mailchimp and thought that Ominsend had more to offer in that area, so we ended up switching.

I'm no stranger to technology. I use it daily to run my online business, and generally I'm pretty good at figuring things out. But Mailchimp... I just couldn't seem to figure out. I know that many people use Mailchimp and love it, but I did not find it intuitive at all. After Mailchimp and Shopify broke up, I switched to Omnisend and within a few hours I had it figured out and had sent out my first email.
I liked that Mailchimp was free. That's about it.
The terminology was odd, the processes weren't intuitive, and I think I managed to send out one email campaign, but it was painful.

I am not that advanced with my emarketing skills so I leave a lot of the options Omnisend offers untouched. If you have decent experience already, and looking for more options, this might be the best one.
This emarketing platform offers more than MailChimp, such as push notifications and SMS messaging, which MailChimp does not offer.
Their first pricing tier costs a little more than MailChimp's but it's worth it if you want more features.

We send marketing email campaigns about 2-3 times a week. Omnised is an easy and user-friendly tool that saves us a lot of time.
They do not have any mobile app, like mailchimp does.

Pretty good so far. The live view is awesome and something I haven't ever really used before. Gives me a ton of insight.
Easy of use stood out to me. I like the options and I want to try the automation soon.
Nothing notable yet. It's pretty similar to mailchimp, but there's more options.

Easy migrating from Mailchimp. Easy to use interface, and great customer service.
I wish I could embed video that was playable in the email. Perhaps more options for the custom HTML blocks

We started using Omnisend as a replacement for Mailchimp once the Mailchimp app was no longer supported in Shopify. The switch was effortless and set up very simple. So far, segmenting our audience, designing emails and creating automations has all gone very smoothly and I never wish we still used Mailchimp. That said I think the mobile specific design options could be greatly improved - but Mailchimp was weak in that area too!
Drag and drop design functions very well. Segmenting is easy.
I'd like a few more standard design options and I think specific design options for how emails will appear in mobile would be a good improvement.

Its been great and we are very happy!
Omnisend offers a more professional looking product than we could produce using mailchimp.
For the number of customers on our list, it got a little expensive.

I love it. It's way better than my experience was at mailchimp.
The email templates are great, tons of super clean and responsive templates to work off of. It also has pretty much every automated sequence that you'd need built in. Within a day you could have your sites entire email automation flow mapped out on omnisend.
Email limits are too low. I'd like options between the base plan and the unlimited plan. With only 20k monthly emails in the base plan, I can see myself hitting it super quickly as my list passes 5k

I fully admit that I am not using Omnisend to the full extent that I should be. My email campaigns are sporadic at best, but when I go in to create a new email campaign, it's super easy. My email list has grown, and I'm not tearing my hair out in frustration. There are loads of features that I have yet to explore, and I know I'll need to sign up for the paid version in order to do that, but for beginners, I definitely recommend Omnisend over Mailchimp.
I'm not tech-illiterate, but Mailchimp frustrated me to no end (for years!). When Shopify and Mailchimp broke up, I switched to Omnisend, and learned to use it and send out an email campaign within a couple of hours. It was so easy!
I started using the free trial, and then just stayed on the free version, so I think that some of the things I set up may not be working properly. It would have been nice to have a breakdown of which features are now turned off, but that is mostly just my own fault for not looking into it.

Good. I recommend this to small business owners who don't have a huge marketing budget.
Omnisend is easy to use and there isn't a very huge learning curve either. Also it has lots of pretty inbuild themes that I felt mailchimp lacked. Mailchimp themes are basic and are nice too. Omnisend has prettier and more aesthetic themes.
You can only send out 2000 free emails in a single day which makes sense on the free version. You can always schedule 2000 emails per day to overcome the limit though!

I like that OmniSend links perfectly with Shopify, we used to use MailChimp and since have made the swap due to MailChimp cutting off the connection. However we don't regret the change whatsoever, and OmniSend's interface is easy to use and train new staff on.
I feel like there are some areas that OmniSend could improve on mainly when it comes to customisation, as a graphic designer, there are some features lacking such as kerning and whatnot that would take OmniSend to the same level as competitors such as MailChimp.

I actually had to make the switch because the wife just wasn't getting all the (useless) options MailChimp had. We found Omnisend together and she's able to fly right through the on boarding.
Coming from MailChimp, I love the UI of Omnisend. It's clean, simple and straight to the point.
What I do miss about MailChimp, however, was the ability to send real postcards to my customers who've provided me with their mailing address. This would be such a useful feature for user retention. I hope they add something similar to it in the future.

When mailchimp lost compatibility with shopify, we werent sure what to do, but omnisend seemed to work well for us.
The product picker makes adding products to your campaigns a breeze and the predefined templates not only look great from standard but are super easy to customize.
When using certain features, e.g. product picker, it doesn't even attempt to pull a product description. also, when you use a single product tile, it doesn't remember whether it was image left or right so you have to change that every time. Also, i found that the pricing structure was a little bit on the expensive side. Also, i dont like that the "new subscriber" email cant be sent to people that sign up in store through shopify, it only works with those who sign up direct through omnisend from what ive seen.

No complaints! I switched all my stores from Mailchimp or klaviyo to Omnisend and it is the only thing I will use!

Segmenting the lists and setting resends to unopens automatically, but that function is coming I hope!

I much prefer this over apps like Mailchimp and Constant Contact, both of which were much more expensive for the services I require
I switched over from Mailchimp to Omnisend because of the price. It turns out, Omnisend's UI and email designer is much more my taste and preference. Very clean and easy-to-use drag and drop method for adding content into emails.
I haven't been able to utilize every feature in my plan yet because automations and subsets do get a bit confusing. But that's just me in general with this stuff.

On-boarding was a breeze and the templates to create emails are very easy and great looking. The integration with Shopify and the capabilities in automation are very strong. I was able to replicate workflows I previously had in HubSpot (a tool that can cost $11,000+ annually) with no issue at all. Prior to Omnisend I was in MailChimp for a couple months after leaving HubSpot due to not being able to justify the cost. I'm very pleased to have found Omnisend.
I've used many tools int he past, including MailChimp and HubSpot, and Omni send is by far the the more powerful email template/creative platform.
Not much to say negative. Maybe the ability to send MMS in addition to SMS messages. When talking to existing and engaged customers it would be nice to be able to include graphically based messages. Would also be nice to be able to put messaging on hold for a defined amount of time for active clients that let us know they are traveling or can't order for some reason. We are a weekly service so that request from our clients is pretty common.

Overall, this is a great program and I am so glad MailChimp isn't supported by shopify anymore because I would of never found this.
I love that there is more options. I especially love the wheel!
Only thing I do not like is that when you try to use the block of recommended products where they plug in products from your store, it doesn't work for me. They just show up blank.

Omnisend has been a good solution for creating emails that engage my customers. I feel it is a big upgrade from Mailchimp (who I used previously).
Omnisend is easy to set up and works smoothly. I find their templates easy to customize and creating an email always takes less time than I think it will.
I wish their templates were a bit more customizable - more fonts, more options to create totally custom content.

Email automation is awesome and communication with our customers is so much easier. It definitely improved our workflow and efficiency.
Great integration with Shopify and quick and easy data migration from Mailchimp. It is helpful tool for growing ecommerce businesses. You can so easily managed emails, forms and campaigns.
There are some features missing that I would like such as MMS. But overall I have not found anything that bothers me.
