Pros

A powerful marketing automation tool but expensive. Good for people who are looking for imapctful insights, lead nurturing and tracking down customer activities with ease.
Custom redirects are also one of the best features that Pardot has because you can utilize them on all SoMe platforms for prospect tracking and provide more quality on certain links on your website.
There was a lot to learn but the customer success manager we had was great, not to mention the excellent community and training material available on the web.

Pros

I love being able to get credit for marketing's sales. This is the best tool to see where to spend you marketing budget and to prove which marketing efforts are successful.
In general it has been a great experience, it helps you acquire more statistical knowledge and provides a lot of information in the direction the company is heading, which is very positive.
This was a great set of programs and software that we incorporated with our email system. The easy of use was not as good as I would have liked but did get easier to use as time went on.

Cons

Whether it was over complicated work flows, inconsistent reporting or terrible customer support - there was always a bad experience that made people hesitant about whether they could manage Pardot.
The actual process of creating beautiful emails is a total disaster on Pardot, which I would not wish on my worst enemy. When I do that part, I miss MailChimp.
Exact Target is one of the most filtered spam filters no so it's almost impossible to get emails sent through to any customers if they have even a shred of spam filtering set up.

Cons

I have a love/hate relationship with Google Analytics. It can either make your job easier or frustrate the hell out of you with its weird quirks.
Learning curve of the UI is a little brutal but can be worked through. I guess its the downside of there being so much functionality.
Lack of direct support can be a pain if you're stuck on something in particular but there are so many web resources on GA you can usually find someone who's had the same problem before you.

Pardot

The best marketing tool for B2B companies

Pros

Pardot has true integration with Salesforce. I love the ability to dynamically see what people in your database are doing in real time. Additionally, Pardot always communicates when new functionality is made available, ensuring you're getting the most out of the system!

Cons

There isn't too much to complain about. Maybe reporting related to your Google Analytics would be a nice feature?

Pardot

Using pardot and salesforce

There is so much to learn. I have two employees earning badges working toward certification. I need a better understanding of some of the products like Lightning. Google analytics

Pros

Managing drip campaigns and the ability to consistently market to large groups of leads and PROSPECTS is great.

Cons

I wish salesforce emails had the same functionality as engage emails. I like using engage alerts but I do not have that in salesforce. I have created dynamic templates for delivering content but in salesforce not pardot.

Pardot

A flawed but somewhat integrated engagement platform for Salesforce

Easy to setup and basic integration with Salesforce. It is good for it's price point.

Pros

Pardot is very easy to use for the most basic purposes such as sending out emails and generating lists using metadata from both your Pardot and Salesforce database. Tracking peoples journeys along your website is also a plus.

Cons

The software is limited vs Hubspot and other competitors. Reporting is not as robust and integration with Salesforce (the confusing 'Pardot Campaign' vs 'Salesforce Campaign' for example) can be frustrating. Do not expect to be able to get the level of website analytics you do in Google Analytics or the tracking ability available in Hubspot.

Marketing Automation for price conscious organizations

Pardot has a lot of base functionality that sets it apart from email platforms like Mailchimp and the like. It also provides better integration with Salesforce than hubspot and other less expensive CRMs to give your organization with a complete picture of the sales funnel. Pros

Intuitive UI, great functionality for the price, native integration with Salesforce, dynamic content add-on. Automation rules that can help keep the system clean and prospects updated.

Cons

Limitations within automation rules for mutli-variable updates. For example - Loading a tradeshow list with campaign member statuses in SFDC. I would like to upload in one automation rule to say if X campaign status, update to this campaign in SFDC for X status, within the same rule I would like to add all of the other statuses with specific completion actions instead of having to run 1 rule for each status. Dynamic content should be able to trigger via a URL parameter and not just a known prospect field.
