Its been a great tool and I have been using it for years now! Lots of improvements in the last couple of years. The projection on project completion etc are amazing features

The dashboard and the analytics of the tickets aging are amazing. Gives insights on what's going on in a single page.

Cons

Integrating with GitHub should have been a little easy.

Great for interdiscipinary teams

Pros

I used Jira for around 3 years, and it's a great tool to keep the communication flowing between marketers and developers. Everything is well organized, we can see what tickets will be prioritized in the next sprint and it has many different views like list and kanban.

Cons

Maybe it misses the deployment and merging part as we have on Github.

Its Great Project mgmt tool in Agile World.

Easy integration with Bitbucket, GIthub, Jira and Confluence, Also Bamboo which is agreat build tool.

Pros

Project Management, Issues Stories tracking, Bug reporting, and Managemnet is great. Easy integration with Several tools like Salsforce, Service Now etc..

Cons

Hard to differentiate layout based on users permissions, same with Fields permissions as well. Great if they link ink confluence and Jira more tightely to send notifications from confluence as well.

Best Bug Tracking software

Pros

Good integration with GitHub. Mobile app.

Cons

There is almost no issue with JIRA software. The only thing is the pricing which is changed recently. The limit does not match to our team so we have to pay for the next tier. However, with the previous plan, we were paying way lower because it was per user.

ability to integrate with most of the tools in our workflow - local git, remote github, gerrit, wiki. amazing

Cons

hard to learn at first, jira guys used their creative thinking and came out with fresh naming for old concepts. but thats ok.

Highly configurable and powerful product management tool

Many of our developers where already familiar with JIRA and especially likes its integration with GitHub. There was a relatively short learning curve for them

Pros

JIRA allowed us to adapt the system to mirror our internal agile dev procress

Cons

It's easy to get lost in the system and navigate to pages/places that aren't useful and it's difficult to get back to where you started.

I've been using Jira for bug tracking and project management for over a year. Based on other solutions out in the market this is definitely the best offered at the moment, however there is still room for improvement.

Pros

The two main pros are: - Customizable: can create / remove any fields - Integration: can integrate with most popular systems such as Salesforce, Trello, Github, etc.

Cons

Sometimes can get quite cumbersome, if you're not used to the tool, or are tech savvy it may be hard to use filters and reporting.

Its a very good tool we use to support our customer service issues and also for our engineering / product issues/requirements and bug management.

Pros

Able to set custom workflows, manage a variety of types of issues, custom scripting to modify workflows as needed. good email notification and integration with GitHub

Cons

UI could be a little better, especially things on the page sometime cluttered when there are too many fields.

Pros

A very good issue tracking system especially when used together with Altlassian's suite of products. We chose this product since cost-wise, it's one of the most attractive option (we're a small team) and we love it's ease-of-use as well.

Cons

Lacking some of the integrations that github has. Workflows are a bit of a hit and miss but that I guess is just how we setup the project.

Excellent choice for medium to big companies to work, specially if they are IT related.

Pros

It is SCRUM compatible and custimisable as SCRUM itself. It allows you to check on burn-down charts. Suppport several teams and projects. It Handles epics, stories, tasks and subtask. The delivery process is customizable as well.

Cons

I'd love to have better filters and can have integration with github and gitlab through jira itself and not through jigit

Powerful Tool for Larger Teams

At this time, we are not using JIRA, but are considering giving it another shot to make full use of its lauded Agile development process utilities.

Pros

JIRA has a ton of integration features, giving you the ability to have things like GitHub tied directly into your projects and allowing you to track issue progress from a singular tool.

Cons

We initially hosted JIRA on our own servers, but the Rails stack that it was built upon was burdensome to maintain. When we went to the hosted option, we thought the responsiveness of the software left a little to be desired.

Awesome tool for agile teams and startups

We've switched over from Trello and we couldn't be happier with Jira.

Pros

We were able to integrate Jira with GitHub, Slack and Travis CI in no time.

Cons

Jira is quite expensive for large teams, so some of our clients are reluctant to using it. Also notifications are quite hard to manage.
