Pros

The super cheap and easy to use interface is awesome. Being able to carry a card reader at all times has improved the way I take deposits for gear rentals.
The compactness of it was definitely appreciated and it was nice to have one, easy to find location for all the important statistics.
The ease of use, the sleek feel, great customer service and great rates. I trust Square with my business and so should you.

Pros

The customer service I think is the best feature. They are pretty responsive and pretty friendly.
There are very few things in this world today that have given me more confidence rather than less. Shopventory is a miracle solution for us.
Their support team is fantastic and is more knowledgeable about other platforms like Square than the Square customer support teams. When dealing with integration issues).

Cons

I had to sit with my bank to file a dispute with Square, put a hold on all charges by Square, and start using an entirely different payment processor just to avoid Square stealing my money.
A client purchased multiple packages totally thousands of dollars from my company, received the services, and then disputed the charges as 'unrecognized. I provided the following to square.
Square permits fraudulent chargebacks against your company.

Cons

There is a few basic things missing, like the possibility to write notes on a partially received PO, or if you make a mistake. In fact you can't write notes anywhere which is quite annoying.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars, they deserve the sky. We will 100% be purchasing a subscription and will not consider it to be wasted money at all.
We had two locations that were very hard to manage, one was an open air market where sales went very quickly and this software solved our problems instantly.

Helped increase profitability by allowing me to accept credit cards.

Pros

I liked how easy it was to setup and connect to my bank account. The invoices made it easier to collect and the mobile app worked very smoothly.

Cons

At the time I was using they charged for everything. Payroll, scheduling, and any extra site features. The breakdowns on the back end weren't as thorough as quickbooks either so I switched.

This has really expanded my business opportunities by allowing me to process credit cards. Highly recommend.

Pros

Square for Retail allows my small side hustle to take credit card payments, just like a major retailer. This has opened many avenues for income, as cash is something some people just never have. The program allows easy invoicing, taking payments with a card swipe or online, and sends you an email whenever you recieve funds.

Cons

I wish the chip reader was included free of charge like the card swiper was.

I have never had a problem. My money is always deposited directly in my account by the next day.

Pros

Square is so easy to use. I sent invoices out for my business and people can enter their card information and pay or I can scan their card when I deliver their items.

Cons

The cost is a little much for a small business that only does a $100 in sales a week. I use it for a small homebased business.

The FREE software and low cost processing fees are GREAT. Money gets deposited FAST and deposited by 1am the next business day. No wait. No hassel.

Cons

Customer Service of you need to actually talk to a human is very lacking. They want to communicate by email and as a business some times you need a human right away.

Pros

I really enjoy the accounting features and Quickbooks integration that Square has. Additionally, it can be useful as well in calculating effectively sales tax. Really convenient as well for recording cash sales and receiving card payments.

Cons

However, on multiple occasions things were not handled correctlly by Square and therefore with our sales tax and Quickbooks integration things would have been handled incorrectly if an accountant had not been paying attention.

Fantastic - especially no monthly bills which means seasonal creatives can pop in and out with using it!

Pros

Ease of use - Brand recognition by customers too - it's the 'go to' square and people know they can trust it, swipe it and ease of getting a receipt. Never had one complaint!

Cons

Reliance on wifi/mobile access- like all cloud based technology doesn't make it 100% reliable but that's the gamble. I found the website very cumbersome to set up.

It was good to use when off site and a simple solution for doing so.

Pros

It was easy to use and navigate through. The app was easy to download onto my phone. It was small and did not take up alot of space.

Cons

Sometimes if off site needing the internet was difficult and hard to come by, as it was not always available depending on location and if service was not good then processing the payments was impossible.

We set-up a our Square account to accepts cards rather than cash/checks for our semi-annual yard sale at a remote location where we were selling discounted storage sheds. In years past, we were taking checks, writing down drivers' license numbers, sometimes credit card numbers as back up. It was not secure and we just hoped a check would not bounce! Now with square, we know instantly if the transaction went through and we can proceed with delivery. Very convenient.

Pros

This software was very easy to set-up and the ability to process a credit card remotely on a phone or tablet was appreciated by our customers and our exec team alike. Processing transactions was also very simple, especially if your customer has used Square before.

Cons

No complaints aside from the fees associated with the service, on top of fees charged by the credit card merchants themselves. For this reason we do not utilize square as our primary method of capturing payment.

Totally love it. i'm happy with the features, and I'm sure that by being well funded I will continue to see new features come up, unlike software I previously used that wasn't as well funded.

Pros

I enjoy easily keeping track of my customer's info, including the ability to create my own custom fields and also group customers. These features make it easy for me to note a history with a customer, aside from just their purchases. Grouping customers allows me to enter a location, find the group of customers there, and know everyones name as a result of this reference

Cons

I wish it were easier to transfer my client lest from other software, but thats the nature of software I guess.

I’m happy that this app is available because it simplifies the way you take payments from customers and it will automatically be deposited into your bank account. It takes away the hassle of dealing with cash and making deposits yourself. You can add products to a library and charge the customer that way or you can use the keypad and type in the amount.

Pros

It’s easy to use the square app and card reader to take payments from customers. I use this most often when I do craft fairs/vendor shows. The card reader is small and not bulky so it makes it simple to carry into events and doesn’t take up a lot of space at my booths. I can even enter payments by hand if I forget the card reader. I can also request payments from customers by invoices and receive payments all in the app.

Cons

I found that the fees for depositing the money to your bank account can be a little high. There is also a small glitch that prevents certain functions from loading all of the time so I have to restart the app some times.

At my last job we used Square for retail to process all transactions. The product is super easy to use and can be quickly learned for new users.

Pros

The interface of Square is user friendly and easy to use when processing retail transactions. I like the fact that you can use the square even without a card reader, by punching in card information manually. It has saved me a few times.

Cons

I don't have any issues using Square for retail. It is pretty straight forward to use while keeping an organized history of all transactions.

We didn't realize how many sales we were missing out on by being "cash only".... Square brought a big increase to our sales, and makes it so much more convenient for our customers. And we love the ability to create a personal web page for all of our products.

Service: was sold that they had 24/7 for retail . They do not. On boarding. No help whatsoever. Missing seriously needed things, like searching/sorting by vendor. Serious issues with hardware package , they dumped us of on maker, will not take care if the issue. Major input issues, no real support on how to do. things.

Great Customer Service!

The customer service is top notch! [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] helped me get setup and walked me through the entire process. I had approximately 1,000 - 2,000 skus. I had to do major clean up on my data before loading (which was my own fault, I had different skus for quite a few of the same products in my two different systems *facepalm*). I also received

Pros

I had a brick and mortar retail business and also had a website. I used square for brick and mortar and shopify for e-commerce. It had become extremely difficult removing/adding inventory between the two systems and I needed a solution that would sync the two inventories. I also had an issue of overselling inventory. Shopventory corrected both of those issues.

Cons

When you bulk upload new products, you cannot add a description, categories, etc. Instead, you must go back in and use a bulk edit spreadsheet, find the products just uploaded and then add in the missing data. With that being said, I made this suggestion and am told it is being worked on, so that's great! One other thing, if you use shopify and have tags on your products, once shopventory syncs it sees tags as "categories" and will create those categories and products are "duplicated" into those categories.

Customer Service is the best.

Pros

We connect to Square and this system helps us know the Cost of Goods sold where Square lacks.

Cons

The software can be a little tricky to set up. Be sure to ask support if you have any questions before proceeding.

A Great Choice for Small Businesses • Engineers Could Improve Response Times

We're happy with Shopventory. There's been a little bit of a learning curve, but overall we find it to be well worth the investment, and our in store and online business would be much more difficult to manage without Shopventory.

Pros

Between our store and website, when we sell product our inventory needs to remain accurate so that we don't oversell and make our customers angry. Shopventory does this for us. The only other functionality I use is bundling. For retail, Shopventory is nice for bundling parts or products together, and keeping inventory numbers square. While it's not part of my job, we also use Shopventory to manage our vendors and purchase orders, which I know has been extremely helpful for our purchasing team.

Cons

When I'm chatting with the first level of customer service, who does a phenomenal job, my issue gets resolved about 80% of the time. They're responsive, readily available, and easy to work with. However, when they can't troubleshoot an issue, and the issue goes to the engineers, it really feels like my issue goes into this weird No Man's Land where my chances of getting a timely response are really low. And I really do see that Shopventory has identified and taken steps to alleviate that issue. I've actually gotten really incredible 5-star help with some issues - it just hasn't seem to speed up the process with the engineers at all, so when my issues goes to an engineer, it's just more worth my time to delete and recreate a listing rather than wait.

Pros

Shopventory is defenily great at linking a great inventory with square or syncing between to platforms such as square and shopify or woocommerce or even clover. There definitely is a need for something like shopventory.

Cons

There are a few things I wish they had on the software but with the team working hard I feel like they will add more stuff. I would like to see a option where if you get the same product from multiple vendors that it tell you to get a product that is below par from the cheapest vendor first. This would save lots of time trying to figure out the cheapest place to find that product again. I feel like...

The Multi-Tool of Inventory Management!!!

Super solid experience, while there has been some learning and need to reach out to support from time to time the user experience, the functionality, accuracy and ability to track modify and cycle count inventory is top tier. I've used Square Retail, QuickBooks POS, LightSpeed and a few other smaller programs that boast inventory management. They all pale in comparison... and if you want Brick and Mortar (I'm using Square and WooCommerce) Shopventory can manage it all whether I want stand alone inventory or pooled inventory it has me covered! Love it!

Pros

Shopventory first and foremost is unbelievably user friendly. From day one it is easy to setup, maintain and even if you are unsure of anything on the platform, knowledgeable support and guidance are a click away... yes even during a pandemic!

Cons

The only thing I can think of is the addition of managing serial numbers, but that really speaks to maybe 2-3 products for me so while nice to have. I wouldnt sacrifice the ease of use or multi platform functionality of Shopventory for being able to use SN# with a far more confusing and less robust competitor.

Pros

Their support team is fantastic and is more knowledgeable about other platforms like Square than the Square customer support teams! (when dealing with integration issues).

Cons

I wish that it were faster process to update the inventory, and the barcode scan app which is cool was integrated within the main platform since as a new business our barcodes change often (so we don't use that even though it would save a lot of time).

Making the holiday season easier

I am able to inventory all my product in one place, see cost, price, vendors, categories, etc. The customer support is awesome. Anything I ask they are readily available to help. I found a small issue and they fixed it right away.

Thrive metrics is a slam-dunk

Customer service is super-capable and fast. Thrive regularly updates their product. It is a living, breathing software company that just 'gets' inventory.

Pros

Integrating with Square was SO easy. It's practically a flip of the switch.

Cons

I have thousands of bills of materials and there is no way to import those--I had to setup a web macro using UI Vision Pro to do the one-by-one setup.

Great resource to sort and start inventory for a smaller business. Incredibly supportive staff with growing solutions!

Cons

Just not robust enough for my growing business - we have hundreds of thousands of SKUs within the retail specialty footwear business and need a true POS/Inventory system to be one in the same.
