What is ExpressPlay DRM?
ExpressPlay DRM is a cloud-based digital rights management (DRM) software designed to help content distributors, over-the-top (OTT) streaming, Pay-TV, and other online video operators deliver multi-screen and live and on-demand services with automatic fail-over and geo-redundancy capabilities.
Key features of ExpressPlay DRM include digital distribution management, access revocation, license management, software application protection, watermarking, and usage tracking. The platform is equipped with adaptive bitrate protocols and supports various operating systems, allowing services to be securely delivered to all client devices including Windows or Mac browsers, Android and iOS devices, smart TVs, and set-top boxes (STBs).
ExpressPlay DRM facilitates licensing of live, premium VOD, and UHD 4K content whilst fulfilling the requirements of MovieLabs’ Enhanced Content Protection specification. It supports major platforms including Google Widevine, Microsoft PlayReady, Apple FairPlay Streaming, Marlin DRM, and Adobe Primetime.
ExpressPlay SDKs for Android and iOS devices are offered, which enable businesses to ensure playback of protected content on devices even without native DRM support. The multi-DRM platform can also be used to protect content playback and delivery in offline environments.
