StackRox overview

What is StackRox?

StackRox is a container security platform designed to help government agencies and businesses protect cloud-based applications, detect threats, and manage vulnerabilities, compliance requirements, configurations, and more. Administrators can gain visibility into risks, compliance status, suspicious traffic, system violations, and DevOps practices in the form of graphs or charts on a centralized dashboard.

Using StackRox's search functionality, organizations can enumerate, filter, retrieve, and discover vulnerabilities across the entire cloud environment. The built-in image scanner enables managers to identify risks in container images based on specific layers, packages, or languages. The software allows businesses to drill down into compliance details including Kubernetes boundaries, nodes, clusters, and namespaces, among other dimensions. Supervisors can also generate reports in PDF format to gain insights into businesses' adherence to various regulatory compliance requirements such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), and more.

StackRox offers an API and pre-built plugins to facilitate integration with various third-party systems such as Anchore, Jenkins, Travis CI, Slack, GitLab, Clair, JIRA, and Splunk, among others. It helps enterprises apply predefined policies to detect threats related to privilege escalation and cryptocurrency mining. Other features include incident response, anomaly detection, data visualization, risk profiling, and data export.
