CMS for Everyone

2019-02-26

Pros

Wordpress enables anyone to create a clean blog or content site quickly and easily with low or no cost. The support and plugin systems available are phenomenal and it is one of the first CMS systems I would introduce any designer or marketing person to. I have built many websites personally and for clients on Wordpress and am rarely frustrated or disappointed by its capabilities.

Cons

Customizations can be limited, especially for ecommerce integrations with WooCommerce.

Hands down, Wordpress is the best Blogging Platform for me

2019-02-16

I earn a living through blogging and Wordpress plus its efficient plugins allow me own my very own woocommerce shop.

Pros

I like the fact that; 1. it is open source and 2. very easy to install 3. Themes are compatible and makes your site look awesome

Cons

Let the guys at WordPress expose people to how they can properly use Gutenberg. A lot of people are not familiar with Gutenberg. It can be very hard for beginners to edit their blog posts or create new posts.

A great place to start

2018-09-28

Pros

I've always considered Wordpress a great place to start for most small to medium businesses. Out of the box, it's very easy to install, navigate and use. Only once you start adding the thousands of extensions at your disposal, can the software become more difficult.

Cons

It would be great if there was more functionality in terms of Woocommerce too.

It is the most used platform due to its easy to use and install

2018-09-25

In my case through the woocommerce pluggin I was able to set up my sales store and obtain savings of resources and time.

Pros

Create pages in two days to three days sometimes, allows me to install a professional template created by specialists in programming and design, if I want I can change content, menu, categories and create users with lower rank than the administrator. What I like the most is that I can focus my attention on advertising, on the marketing of my page. If I did not have a CMS, I should hire a designer or programmer to change the content and update the long-term information, which is more expensive. Almost all wordpress templates are adaptable to mobile devices (tablets, cell phones). In addition, it has a great technical support.

Cons

Slow loading, due to the installation of many plugins. If your project is too big or too complex, it may not fit in what Word press offers. Premium templates are very expensive.

Please don't ever build a site that's not on WordPress

2018-12-04

WordPress is far and away the most scalable CMS on the web. There are some DIY builders that are easier to use for end-users, but if you have any kind of web development experience, WordPress is the way to go.

Pros

- Ease of use - Ability to add, develop, and customize - Massive community with plugins to add-on functionality easily - Free

Cons

- WooCommerce is great, but the shopping experience isn't on-par yet with Shopify out of the box... though it can be customized.

Website ready in 5 minutes.

2018-03-11

Pros

I love the speed in which you get your website up and running with WordPress, the fact that you have a complete dashboard to manage your website is more than enough to adopt WP forever.

Cons

When I loaded woocommerce and other plugins my website lost some speed, but it maybe because of the hosting, just keep in mind and check.

Certainly useful for startups to SMBs.

2019-01-21

As CLO I regularly use a built in e-signing solution allowing me to automate the allocation of legal documents which means that we have no need for an external solution.

Pros

Our most favourite feature of the software is the extensional range our addons - WooCommerce and bbPress are definitely my favourite.

Cons

WooCommerce can sometimes get you jumbled up when looking for a specific feature within the dashboard, however the community and online tutorials are there to help.

Best web platform for SME websites

2018-12-26

Pros

WordPress is so easy to use, that most of our clients have no difficulty managing and adding content on their own. Excellent modularity with only one type of extensions. Much better than the jungle of Joomla or Drupal.

Cons

Some plugins like WooCommerce are not as fast as the core and can slowdown the overall page performance.

It's powerful, but it aways becomes very hard to maintain after a while.

2017-11-17

Saves time to build an CMS for clients.

Pros

I have even setup a WordPress blog to become an e-commerce site with WooCommerce. It's really powerful.

Cons

It takes time for beginners to learn how to maintain the site. Also a lot of the common features such as SEO and analytics are not standardized. There are popular plugins that everyone uses, but it's not built in, and beginners need to take time to learn the 3rd party plugins. After a while, when more and more plugins are installed, it gets very hard to maintain. Too many things in the dashboard, and scares non computer savvy people away.

Best CMS out there

2019-01-09

I mostly use WordPress for e-commerce sites, woocommerce is a very good plugin which offers an easy way to solve any web store needs, I used it on automotive, clothes and other sites

Pros

I use WordPress for 80% of my and clients websites, it is free, easily customizable by most of PHP developers,

Cons

most of the plugins offer a free version which is limited and force you to pay for a full version for most of the advanced features, which I can guarantee you will need for a complex website.

A great platform with many plug-ins to enhance functionality.

2018-05-21

Solid CMS and ecommerce.

Pros

The Woocommerce plug-in allows for a solid content and commerce experience.

Cons

Honestly, not much to hate if you're not looking for Enterprise CMS. As with similar platforns, you trade out-of-the box functionality for platforn flexibility, but thay should be assumed.

Easy for Anyone

2019-02-21

Wordpress has allowed us to create a website that we feel truly embodies our brand.

Pros

Wordpress is very easy to use for anyone regardless of their web building experience. I am able to create beautiful pages on our wordpress site without having an extensive background in web design. There are also so many good apps that can connect, making it even easier to solve business problems.

Cons

We currently use woocommerce - which I know is popular, but for our business model, it sometimes just doesn't foot the bill.

flexible and powerful website framework

2018-08-08

With addition of Woocommerce, it can also handle a small to medium size shopping cart as well, all with little or no code changes.

Pros

The opensource nature of this software allows me to modify whatever I need to to make it fit for my business. The community that has developed around wordpress is very strong, and I can find themes and plugins that help me add functionality without reinventing the wheel.

Cons

Learning the framework and the do's and don'ts of what coding changes are appropriate can be somewhat daunting. For anyone without a technical background, I would recommend working with a professional.

The standard for Blogs and much more

2019-02-02

Easy to implement and use, whether has to be installed or a service that already includes it, a lot of tools and options you can use, you can create the site that you need, a bit more difficult than squarespace or wix, but you have more control with Wordpress.

Pros

Is the standard to create blogs and now you can implement even marketplaces on the same platform through woocommerce, there's a lot of themes and plugins available so you can make your site according to your needs.

Cons

The UI haven't been improved in a long time, and rivals like Ghost are innovating on that front.

The editing of ghe posts are easy and bloggers can publish their content on the go. Pros

What started off as a simple blog platform can now do so much, including ecommerce through woocommerce. Lots of plugins (free and paid) available, and a thriving ecosystem of developers help ensure this is the #1 platform.

Great for personal blog and e-commerce

2018-08-31

I use Wordpress software to set up and manage my blog and online shop using a plugin called Woocommerce with the same domain and it's been a wonderful experience for more than a year now.

Pros

Wordpress is user friendly, the layout, widgets, plugins and templates make it more classy. A new user does not have to know too much of codes to be able to set up a blog with the software. There are tons of beautiful templates to choose from and one can easily customize the integrations to get exactly what one wants. The security is up to date. And the support system is amazing as well.

Cons

Wordpress can be easily set up when you are using the free plan but if you want to get your hosting, it will require that you acquire technical skills. The major flawless of the software is the technical knowledge you will need to upgrade.

WooCommerce Pros and Cons

2018-03-20

WooCommerce is a plugin for WordPress, and it cannot be run with out WordPress.

Pros

Free to download and install for Word-Press based e-commerce sites. No monthly fees. Also able to customize with themes and extensions. The more advanced themes / extensions cost . Able to integrate with PayPal, which is easier than setting up a merchant account. Additional payment gateways are available as extensions.

Cons

Your will still have to create your e-commerce store, and purchase a domain name / web hosting / etc. The extension costs can add up. WooThemes work best with WooCommerce. Customer support can be slow.

WooCommerce is a great shopping cart solution for WordPress Users

2017-12-14

Open source software offers the benefit of lower cost than most commercial software and a majority of websites are developed using WordPress, which is one of the most widely used open source content management systems.

Pros

Ease of installation, Huge number of add-on modules. Numerous payment gateways. Easy to integrate shipping. Ability to generate product feeds for Google Adwords, Amazon, and Bing shopping.

Cons

Many of the premium modules require annual subscriptions so you do need to be aware of the cost when comparing open source software to an off the shelf shopping cart solution. (a good developer will be able to help you determine what your costs will be before you get started).

Pros

Cons

It's not the easiest thing to figure out if you're a first-time user. I would get help for best outcomes (ease of use is low, for me). Best features are in the paid portion.

Woo Commerce - great plugin for Wordpress - eCommerce good to go!

2018-02-28

Pros

Fantastic addon for Wordpress and lots of cool features too.

Cons

I've issues with updates not working but I think that was more my fault than the programs. A bit of a learning curve, but pretty easy overall.

Good enough product, terrible customer support

2018-01-11

Easy to use product.

Pros

WooCommerce for Wordpress is a good product.

Cons

Their customer service isn't very helpful. Many of my clients use Woocommerce products. While I'm working on their projects, I have questions for the WooCommerce team. Rather than provide any support, they request that the client/owner of the product email. And the times that the client did email, their reply was to check the help doc, or reach out in the Facebook group. Absolutely worthless.

Best point-of-sale solution for small and large merchants

2018-03-20

Cloud-based and very easy to use!

Pros

Woocommerce provides the ability to easily and securing process payment transactions within a website. However, the point-of-sale software easily integrates for in-person (card present) transactions.

Cons

While the WordPress WooCommerce solution is free there is a small charge for the WooCommerce point-of-sale product license.

I highly recommend it!

Pros

The possibilities are immense and all integrated into the same installation of WordPress and WooCommerce.

Cons

To get the most out of the platform, it is necessary that the team or responsible person has basic knowledge of the functioning of WordPress and Woocommerce, although in reality it is very easy to configure you need time and knowledge to execute it correctly.

Easy to integrate into my wordpress sites, as well as payment processors.

2018-07-14

Easily integrated it into a wordpress site for a client to sell items online in a very simple to use way.

Pros

Integrates with Square (with extension), and Paypal. Easy to use. Compatible with most themes. Easy to add products and manage inventory.

Cons

There is a a bit of a learning curve for new users. Per item custom shipping prices would be nice to include natively.
