What is Acumens e-Tax Enterprise R2 (NA)?
Acumens e-Tax Enterprise integrates sales tax calculation and compliance directly into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV.
The app connects to eight sales tax API providers: TaxJar, Zamp, TaxCloud, Quaderno, Kintsugi, Numeral, USGeocoder, and ZipTax. Each provider has its own default API setup, and provider-specific tax code imports are supported, including TaxJar Categories, Zamp Special Codes, TaxCloud TIC Codes, Quaderno Special Codes, Kintsugi Special Codes, and Numeral Special Codes.
Address verification (via Smarty Address Verify API) runs on sales orders, checking sell-to, ship-to, and bill-to addresses, including Zip+4 updates, before tax calculation runs. Tax calculation frequency is configurable (e.g. "Always"), and API call logging can be enabled for troubleshooting and audit purposes.
Configuration options include auto-charge use tax, auto-create exemptions, mixed-taxability handling with a defined use tax code, and marketplace-editable tax fields on sales documents. On posted invoices, the app records the calculation API, reporting API, tax area code, tax liability status, shipping taxability, report-to city and county, and any taxability overrides.
Manual tax rate overrides support edge cases, and a sales tax activity log and statistics view provide a full audit trail per document.
