What is Ardent Seller?

Ardent Seller is the inventory, manufacturing, and sales backbone for a small maker business — built for the at-home baker, soap and candle maker, jewelry maker, coffee roaster, woodworker, potter, skincare formulator, farmers-market vendor, and Etsy shop owner who has outgrown spreadsheets but doesn't want enterprise ERP.

What it does

• Inventory — Track raw materials, finished goods, packaging, food items, equipment, labor, subassemblies, and MRO supplies across multiple locations (primary, secondary, storage, production, sales). Stock updates automatically, with barcode/QR support, attributes, variants, bundles, and unlimited items on every plan.

• Recipes & production — Build recipes, subassemblies, and step-by-step procedures with a built-in bill of materials. Run production, scale ingredient buys, and transfer stock between locations with a full history of every batch.

• Costing & profitability — Every batch rolls up materials, labor, packaging, and overhead automatically. Weighted-average COGS is captured on every sale, so you see true margin without spreadsheet math.

• Transactions — Record purchases, sales, adjustments, transfers, production runs, expenses, income, donations, waste, and stocktakes. Apply tax categories, pricing tiers, per-channel fee tracking, and transaction methods.

• Reporting — Profit-and-loss, inventory valuation, sales-tax by jurisdiction, equipment-depreciation schedules, and Schedule C–ready expense summaries. Export any report to PDF or CSV.

• Food-business features — Automatic unit conversions (buy in pounds, use in cups, track in grams), allergen detection across recipes and subassemblies, and FDA-style nutrition label generation.

Integrations

• Etsy (built-in) — sync listings, orders, fees, and taxes; reconcile each order against the ledger; push inventory back to Etsy as stock changes. Included on every plan. Additional marketplaces are in active development.

• Lemon Squeezy for billing, Supabase for authentication, Resend for email. CSV import/export and PDF export cover most downstream bookkeeping and tax workflows.

Security

Multi-tenant SaaS with two-level data isolation (account and location level) enforced on every query. Authentication via Supabase; marketplace tokens encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM); a complete audit trail on every change. Automated, locked-down offsite backups run daily for files and weekly for the database.
