Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Capisso overview
What is Capisso?
Bookkeeping built for the practice, not around it.
Capisso is a complete accounting package for Irish accounting and bookkeeping practices and the sole traders and small companies they look after. It was built in Cork, it is priced in euro, and Irish VAT and tax deadlines are part of the everyday workflow, not an add-on.
Capture that clients actually use. Most bookkeeping stalls at the shoebox. Capisso takes documents the way clients already send them: a photo on WhatsApp, a forwarded email, a right-click in the Chrome extension, or an upload on the web. Files up to 50MB, PDFs, photos and screenshots all work.
Every document becomes a ledger line. Capisso reads each receipt, bill and invoice, extracts the supplier, amounts and VAT, and codes it to the chart of accounts. It posts a proper double-entry journal, not a pile of documents to sort later. When a bookkeeper corrects a coding, Capisso learns the pattern and applies it next time, in document capture and in bank reconciliation alike.
Matched to the real bank. Open Banking feeds bring in transactions from Irish banks such as AIB and Revolut, and Capisso matches them to the documents already captured. Anything it cannot match lands in an inbox marked "Needs you", separate from items that are posted and only need a review.
The practice stays in charge. Firms create each client business and invite the owner as a client user. The client keeps capture up to date and marks the books ready. The practice reviews the handoff, accepts it or returns it with a note, and locks the period so nothing changes underneath a filed return.
Irish compliance from one ledger. Capisso prepares VAT3 returns on the cash or invoice basis, with VIES and RTD data, reverse charge and postponed accounting for imports. For year end it prepares CT1 figures for companies and Form 11 figures for sole traders, plus preliminary tax. Trial balance, balance sheet, general ledger and journals are all available, with drill-down from reports to the journals behind them.
Ask your books. Owners and accountants can ask questions in plain English, such as how much was spent with a supplier this quarter, and get an answer drawn from the ledger. Reports can be shared by link, with a password and an expiry date.
Invoicing included. Sales invoices and credit notes with the business's own branding, VAT number checks, numbering rules and PDF export, emailed straight from Capisso.
Security. Multi-factor authentication and encryption in transit.
Pricing. Plans for sole traders, limited companies and practices, with practices priced by the number of client businesses. Monthly or annual billing, with two months free on annual plans. A launch rate runs until 1 January 2027. Every plan starts with a free trial.
Proof. Over €360 million recorded and more than 1,010 client businesses on Capisso. One Irish practice grew about twenty times on Capisso with no paid acquisition.
