CraftForms is a WordPress form builder that lives entirely inside the Gutenberg block editor. Every form is built with blocks — drag-and-drop layout, inline editing, native color and typography controls, full theme compatibility — no separate form editor to learn.

Free version — production-ready out of the box

The free version includes all core field types (text, textarea, select, radio, checkboxes) with image and color swatch support, two built-in form styles that require no CSS, and an Info block that displays live field values in real time as users fill in the form. Seven ready-made form starters and seven matching HTML email template starters are included.

Every submission is stored as a structured database record and browsable from the admin panel. Four submit actions are available and stackable: save to database, send plain-text email, send HTML email, and webhook (JSON POST to any URL — Zapier, Make, n8n, or a custom endpoint).

HTML email templates are designed in Gutenberg using the built-in Email Template designer. An email delivery log records every outgoing message with recipient, timestamp, and delivery status. Multiple SMTP servers can be configured and assigned per form.

Spam protection runs invisibly — scoring mouse movement, keystroke patterns, timing, and paste behavior — with no CAPTCHA or checkbox required. Forms can be placed via shortcode, Elementor widget, Bricks element, or native Gutenberg block.

CraftForms Pro adds the features needed when a form is a step in a business process rather than a simple data collection tool.

Smart Variables are virtual values defined on the form — not visible to users — available in price formulas, conditional logic, and submission records. Three types are available: Expression (formula using 50+ built-in functions), Price Matrix (2D lookup table driven by two field values, importable as CSV), and Linked Field (maps machine-readable option values to human-readable labels).

Any Smart Variable can be designated as the form price. The formula evaluates server-side on submission — client-side values are never trusted. Supports 18 currencies and four number format styles. A live price estimate is shown to the user before submit.

Conditional logic shows, hides, enables, or disables fields and arbitrary HTML elements based on field values or Smart Variables — running entirely in the browser with no round-trips.

File uploads are MIME-verified server-side, filtered through a hard blocklist for executable types, stored in session-bound temporary directories, and imported into the WordPress Media Library on successful submission.

The booking datepicker field supports hotel-style checkin/checkout ranges, fixed time slots with configurable intervals, and single-date selection — with advance notice requirements and bookable date window restrictions.

Commerce and booking infrastructure

The Catalog defines bookable resources, rentals, or products. Inventory is tracked per date and per time slot for bookings, and as a numeric stock quantity for products. Pre-submission availability checks prevent overselling.

Every confirmed or paid submission creates an order record with a full status lifecycle (pending → confirmed → paid → cancelled → refunded), customer data, line items, and a secure token-based URL.

Stripe payments are supported in two modes: Hosted Checkout (redirect to Stripe's payment page) and Embedded Elements (inline card form inside the CraftForms form). Both modes use HMAC-SHA256 webhook signature verification and server-side price validation.

iCal sync keeps availability consistent with external platforms: inbound feeds (Airbnb, Booking.com, Google Calendar) are fetched hourly and block dates automatically; outbound feeds expose confirmed bookings as a private .ics URL for external platforms to pull.
