CrawlChat is a cloud-based AI documentation assistant built for SaaS companies, software product teams, DevRel teams, and API-first products with complex technical documentation. It indexes knowledge bases from URLs, PDFs, Notion, Confluence, GitHub repositories and issues, Linear issues, and Docusaurus sites, then delivers citation-backed, source-linked answers across multiple channels including a web embed widget, Slack app, Discord bot, MCP server, and public API. A self-hosted open-source option is also available. Selectable AI models, private collections with access control, and a no-code setup process make it deployable for both external user-facing and internal GTM use cases without duplicating configuration across channels.
The analytics dashboard surfaces query volume trends, sentiment, category classifications, geographic and device context, cited sources, and automatic data gap detection to identify documentation gaps. Per-answer and per-source relevance scoring (0-1) flags low-confidence responses. A built-in support ticket handoff routes unresolved queries to the team, with an admin dashboard grouped by ticket status and email notifications. The widget UI, including brand colors, text, and logo, is configurable from the dashboard without modifying the embed snippet. Multilingual response generation covers 32 languages out of the box.
CrawlChat targets startups through larger organizations with transparent, startup-friendly pricing and a 7-day free trial. An n8n node and public API support custom workflow automation, while MCP server integration exposes the knowledge base to IDE-based AI tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, and Claude for developer-facing doc querying workflows.
