Matrix Req is requirements management and design control software for engineering teams that have to prove what they built and why. It replaces the usual mix of documents, spreadsheets and disconnected trackers with a single controlled repository where requirements, specifications, risks, design outputs and test cases live together, each one versioned, searchable and auditable.

Traceability is the core of the product. Requirements link to design outputs, risks and verification and validation tests, and those links are maintained as the project moves. Change one item and Matrix Req shows every downstream item it touches, with warnings on traces that are broken, missing or outdated. Live trace reports record who changed what, when and why, so the traceability matrix is a view of current data rather than a document somebody rebuilds before a review.

Risk management runs inside the same system rather than alongside it. Risks are planned, assessed and mitigated using configurable templates and scoring formulas that you define, and each risk links back to the requirements and tests that control it, so every safety concern is documented, measurable and traceable.

Design control and V&V are handled natively. Teams define multi layered verification and validation cycles, track results automatically, and connect those results back to the requirements they prove. Documentation and trace tables are generated directly from the underlying data, with built in audit trails and electronic signature support, so the evidence pack for a review, an audit or a submission comes out of the system rather than out of a separate writing effort.

AI capability is built in. Matrix Mind, the assistant inside Matrix Req, helps draft requirements, risks and test cases and answers questions about your own documentation. The AI Compliance Checker imports a standard or a checklist you define, highlights the gaps in your project against it, and suggests changes to close them.

Matrix Req connects to the tools engineering already uses. Jira tasks can be created and linked from Matrix items, with issue search and a dedicated Jira add-on dashboard. GitHub and GitLab issues can be created or linked, with backlinks written into Matrix items as notes. Azure DevOps issues can be created, linked and viewed without leaving the tool. Confluence content syncs into Matrix as sync items linked to standard items. A full REST API and SDK expose effectively any action available in the interface, so custom integrations and automation are supported against any system that speaks REST.

Access management uses your existing identity provider. Single sign on is supported through Azure, Okta and Google, with multi factor authentication, so account control follows the policies your organisation already runs.
