Org Chart Drag and Drop is a Microsoft-certified Power BI custom visual that constructs interactive organisation charts from employee-manager relationship data. Available via Microsoft AppSource, it runs entirely within the Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service environments on Microsoft Azure, with all processing occurring client-side inside Power BI's sandboxed visual environment. No data is transmitted to external servers or vendor-operated backends, keeping all organisational data within the customer's own Power BI environment.

Designed for HR and People Analytics teams, Finance and CFO functions, and senior leadership at mid-market and enterprise organisations, the visual replaces manual, spreadsheet- and presentation-driven organisation design workflows. Users can drag and drop nodes to reassign reporting lines, swap employees with direct managers, add or remove nodes and entire hierarchies, and define dotted-line non-reporting relationships. Real-time scenario modelling delivers instant recalculation of headcount, cost, and hierarchy depth. Multiple restructuring scenarios can be saved, reloaded, and compared within a single session, and a per-change rollback log supports controlled iteration. Data can be exported to Excel, CSV, or clipboard, and offline edits made via CSV can be re-imported. Integration with Microsoft Graph API via Entra ID supports live employee data population through Power Query.

Configuration is handled through the Power BI Format Pane, covering typography, spacing, node appearance, line styles, search highlight behaviour, and export settings.
