Pros

It is so powerful, and I know I'm barely scraping the surface of what all it's capable of. It is amazing for tracking progress, analyzing data, and staying organzied.
I like the ease of this software to input my numbers that have been acquired over the year and is a good reference to keep my numbers straight.
I would easily recommend it as it's perfect for kids in school, in the work place etc. All it's features are detailed and open doors for me to be as creative as I want to be.

Pros

I loved the templates, functionality and the easy navigation.I loved the integration of audio & video on the presentation that was awesome.
The best and easy to download, makes presentations easy because slides are easy to customize, it's ability to print each slide directly. Has advanced designs and has multiple templates to chose from.
This software is versatile, making simple or complex follow along with slides with text and pictures to give the best learning experience. The clever infographics and videos are amazing.

Cons

Some of the error messages are hard to decipher when using the software and the functions have confusing variables to put in at times.
The software cannot be readily integrated or harmonized with other information systems. The software is totally insensitive to human errors; it does not prompt the user when there is an error.
When there is a large amount of data entered into a spreadsheet it's inevitable to have trivial human mistakes made. Sometimes it's very difficult to find those mistakes later.

Cons

The worst thing about PowerPoint is the lack of creativity in the included templates. They are very boring and repetitive.
There is not much I don't like about it except for the problem of it not being compatible with non-Windows systems. Errors often occur that corrupt files or the presentation does not display properly.
I am using PowerPoint for four years I did not find any flaw but there is one point on the products that suddenly they stopped working and I lost my files on which I was working at that time.

Microsoft Excel is not that user-friendly though still a benchmark in spreadsheet management

Integral part of my office work.

Pros

Microsoft Excel has a host of features that can meet almost any features/functions that I need while maintaining spreadsheets. Being developed by Micosoft, not surprisingly, it integrates well with Microsoft Windows operating system and other Microsoft Office suite of products including Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Access.

Cons

They need to make Microsoft Excel more user-friendly. At times even after years working on this software, I feel helpless!

I use Excel for client programming. I have a set template that is quick and easy to update with new programs.

Pros

It's easy to use. I first learned to use Excel in high school, and while it has evolved and been updated, the basics are still the same.

Cons

I wish it interfaced with the other Microsoft applications better. I want to be able to insert my Excel sheets into PowerPoint slides easier.

Great for spreadsheets and more

Reviewed 5 years ago

Excel is easy to use, for the most part. There are some elements that you'll find yourself searching "help" for. Aside from getting to know all of the parts, it can do so much for small businesses (in my case) when it comes to tracking money in and money out. Who needs QuickBooks?

Pros

Excel offers so much to businesses. This is a great software to use when you're tracking expenses, need to create an invoice, want to graph something, or you need a document that adds things up for you.

Cons

I like the accessibility of the Google versions of each of Microsofts software items, like PowerPoint and Excel. Microsoft is a bit expensive for yearly use.

Par excellence for number crunching

Reviewed 5 years ago

Whenever I have to deal with customer database or financial projection, Excel is indispensable. It allows me to analyze the information I need quickly and easily with simple functions like sorting and filtering. I also love that I can setup conditional formatting to warn my colleagues whenever they input the wrong data. So many hours saved from not having to cross-check and argue.

Pros

The compatibility with other Microsoft Office apps. When I need to copy paste a range of cells over to Word or PowerPoint, I can count on the formatting to turn out great.

Cons

The cost. For most users who will not be utilizing Excel's powerful macros and extensive formulas, there are cheaper alternatives.

A solid Microsoft product that gets the job done more often than not.

Pros

Great software as it is similar in layout to the other Microsoft products such as Word and PowerPoint. When formatted well, the sheets can also look very nice compared to other competitors in this space.

Cons

Collaboration can be quite difficult when many people are working at the same time on a workbook. Excel often gets confused when this is the case.

Pros

It's great to make reports because you can paste data directly in, and couples well with Microsoft Word (for reports) and Powerpoint (for presentations). Simple to use via keyboard shortcuts or point and click with the mouse.

Cons

Big version changes like 2007 and 2013 changes where a lot of features are. Backward compatibility is also a little shaky at times, and it's annoying to switch between versions.

I use Excel to collect and track data but do not use it for anything beyond simple t-tests as far as statistics are concerned. The program is not flexible for data analysis but should be implemented for collection and processing, as it is very convenient and straight-forward.

Pros

Interfaces with other components of Microsoft Office, like Word and PowerPoint. Lots of options and methods to manipulate spreadsheets, but lacks these capabilities without additional download. Coding software allows more flexibility for in creating graphs and figures.

Cons

Need to download additional components to use all the potential aspects of Excel. In-flexible. Graphs and figures are generic and cannot be manipulated much.

Lots of templates to choose from. Chart formatting and Data analysis is highly exceptional. Pivot table option is a powerful tool. VBA (visual basics for application) is superb. It is perfectly compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint. High Data storage

Cons

It comes with a high price, after a free trial. It does allow simultaneous editing. Cross device usability is limited, even though , the apps exist in the mobile. It does allow to open a file created from laptop to tabs or mobile.History is not updated automatically, we have to do It on our own.

Microsoft Excel Review by daily user

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall Microsoft Excel is one of the most powerful and convenience software I even used, I can not live without it, I nearly using Microsoft Excel to do anything in my job such as grouping picture and print it out. (I knew that it will be much more easier to use PowerPoint to do this job) I am still discovering and learning more deeply in Microsoft Excel Function. I hope that Microsoft can provide something like on job learning function, like a game that guide us to learn the function step by step such as the V-look up formula usage.

Pros

I love the clear and easy interface that I always can found what I want right the way. The tags on the top are perfectly organized and also you can always see the pop-up tips which helps you to understand what it is.

Cons

The preset test format is really not that user friendly for me, for example some time I want to add a date in a cell, it automatically changes the format which I do not like, then I need to right click and choose Format, click the date and choose the right format, or just add' in the cell then type in what you want, it is really wasted lot of time, why not just set the cell be normal and if we need the specific format then we can proactively go to change by our self.

MIcrosoft Excel

Reviewed 2 years ago

Excel is consistently the most well-known and well-reviewed application within the Office productivity suite, aside from Microsoft Word. Despite the fact that numerous alternative spreadsheet solutions have been developed to grab market share away from Microsoft over the last three decades, the reality is that this application has only grown more popular and superior. Excel's present strengths are data visualization and publishing; as a result, users may create spreadsheets and workbooks that appear to be built in PowerPoint without really using PowerPoint. Everything from invoices to charts, maps to tables may be quickly turned into presentation-ready products.

Pros

Subscription pricing is very reasonable for small business owners. Many languages are provided for help files, tutorials, and templates.

Cons

For smaller businesses, business license for the full desktop version can be prohibitively expensive. With large data sets, it may take a long time to run.

I like how versatile Excel can be. You can use Excel to create basic spreadsheets, budgets, calendars, charts, and even simple databases. I've even used Excel to create a dashboard.

Cons

There is a steep learning curve that makes Excel fairly intimidating for some. Easy, the most intimidating of the Microsoft Office triad (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). In my opinion, a smarter wizard may help alleviate the frustration and anxiety many feel when using Excel.

It is integrated to other Microsoft software so you can easily copy charts and graphs to Microsoft Word or Powerpoint. It supports over a million row size giving you a lot space in which you can work your data

Cons

If you have too much data or are using a complicated macro it can become slow and even crash, making you to lose progress. Apart from that I don't see any cons with the software

Best for Spreadsheets

Reviewed 5 years ago

You really can't go wrong by choosing Excel.

Pros

In this day and age, you cannot work in data without having at least a grasp of the basics of Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Excel is superior to all other spreadsheet editing software in many aspects including the number of available features. Another great thing about Excel is that it is part of the Microsoft suite, which includes the likes of Word, PowerPoint and Access. I often work with real-time data. Excel supports this type of functionality by allowing to import API to display that same real-time data within my spreadsheets and further analyze it.

Cons

I would have to get really picky in order to find things that I dislike about Excel. Nothing major to mention here in all honesty.

Cons

Like other Microsoft products, MAC features are lacking and if available, function differently than PC versions for no reason. Sharepoint / 365 online version lacks key features, such as inability to easily replace images in cells (right click > change picture from file is not available, curious as it works online with PowerPoint).

A classic: Powerpoint speaks for itself!

Pros

Microsoft has allowed seamless integration between powerpoint and other Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Access). This allows for very efficient presentations.

The software could be a little more user friendly and less clunky when you have multiple powerpoints running at one time.

I despise Microsoft Excel

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

The one thing I like about Microsoft Excel is that it provides several features.

Cons

I think Microsoft Excel is difficult to use. I much prefer to use Google Spreadsheets which I can easily download in an Excel spreadsheet format if necessary.

Microsoft PowerPoint

Indispensable tool for consulting

Reviewed 4 years ago

The entire suite of applications from Microsoft; Project, SharePoint, Excel, Visio, Word make using PowerPoint a natural decision.

Pros

PowerPoint is used as a single utility for all stakeholder communications. The linkage with Microsoft SharePoint makes authorship and publication very easy and near real time.

Cons

Some features available in Word and Visio are not in PowerPoint. This is frustrating when materials are being created, requiring a jump in and out, to complete the desired materials

Enhance your presentation skills with " Microsoft PowerPoint "

Reviewed 3 years ago

I have been using Microsoft excel for a long time , for my research presentations. And that is great !!!

Pros

Power point by Microsoft is a very easy tool to use. The software is well organized. Even a beginner can understand how to wok with it without any difficulty. The most important thing I like about it is, the app can be downloaded in to the smart phone and the presentations can be created even by the phone. There are many effects, animations and designs that we can add to the presentation and we can select desired templates also. Really this is a very useful software.

Cons

When I consider about the over all function and presentation of the software, I don't think there is anything that I don't like here.

Powerpoint - Great for presenting, not great for the formatting-obsessed

Reviewed 5 years ago

Very positive. I wouldn't use anything else to make a presentation.

Pros

Powerpoint is great for assembling a presentation on just about anything.

Cons

Inflexibility with other Microsoft products. Moving a formatted table from Excel to Powerpoint should be easier.

Microsoft PowerPoint

Still the best Presentation Tool after all these years

Reviewed 2 years ago

I've been using Power Point and off for 20+ years, and it is an amazing application. Works well just as a stand alone presentation, and if you have a speaker. Multiple time I've created a Power Point attachment, when a simple Word document would have done, and my coworkers would congratulate me, on how great it came out.

Pros

Microsoft Power Point was one of the first apps for creating presentation - and it is still the best and the most accessible. There are some cheap knock off versions, but you won't be able to integrate them with Microsoft Suite, nor use anywhere like you can with Power Point. Possibilities are endless - form very simple few slide presentation with simple text - to extremely sophisticated, with animation, charts integration data from other apps, sounds, etc. Words and Shapes can change size and color, and disappear from the page.

Cons

I found a bit harder to learn that other Microsoft Suite apps - Word, Excel, even Access

Microsoft PowerPoint is the best presentation software out there. I wish I could complain about it but I honestly can't.

Microsoft PowerPoint Review

Reviewed 2 years ago

My experience with the tool is breathtaking? I can make a presentation that everyone can understand thanks to Microsoft excel

Pros

The tool is awesome and perfect in doing presentation to staffs. When you need to give a resettable presentation it's the tool you look for. It has a number of functional features and multiple templates with different designs. You will get what you are looking for. If you are creative enough, you can also create your own template with the tool

Cons

Most of the Microsoft tools are perfect and perform efficiently but they are abit pricey. Although the tool is worth the cost, I feel it needs price adjustment
