What is Chamilo?
Chamilo is an open-source learning management system (LMS) designed to help organizations create, publish, and manage online training programs, assessments, assignments, surveys, and more. The platform includes an authoring tool, which enables teachers to create custom eLearning courses using predefined templates and add demo content for learners.
The customizable homepage within Chamilo allows organizations to personalize the user interface using custom colors and logos, handle registrations, and display the available courses. It offers a host of features such as permission management, announcements, chat, document upload, automated feedback and scoring, course organization, and more. Teachers can also conduct virtual classes using video conferencing capabilities, track attendance, design assessments, track the progress of learners, and create wikis to collaborate with trainers in creating and editing documents.
Chamilo offers administration tools, which let teachers configure course settings, learner access, email notifications, learning paths, and more. The reporting functionality enables managers to gain insight into the performance of students, time spent on courses, progress scores, messages, and active sessions.
