I think that the accounting needs help, in that I should be able to show past due accounts as past due, and be able to add interest and send reminder emails easily, but I cannot.

Cumbersome email integration experience

To make it work I have to click around to a bunch of different pages and emails, and eventually it works. When I called support about this, they told me that it is probably because I'm using Outlook desktop as opposed to the online version of Outlook. But here's the thing: I don't like the online version of Outlook, and I would think Clio would put some resources into making sure their add-in works on the desktop version too. If the conscious decision is being made not to allocate resources to the desktop version of Outlook, that's disappointing.

It takes an excessively long time to file emails.   If you try to file emails  as you go, your flow is completely thrown off because you have to wait minutes sometimes for one email to file.   If you wait until the end of the day, it can take more than a hour just to file email.

Now, you still get emails in response, but the emails are more of the scripted/lip service type and most issues do not get resolved at all, including critical issues relating to basic features that used to work fine in the past. As I am not an insider to Clio, I am not sure what the reason is, but from many recent interactions with Clio support and their answer, it seems to me that there is no one at Clio who has their hand on the pulse or any control over the "technical team" or the "development team".

Clio tech support is worthless and is never aware of any issues brought up to them about the software, no matter how debilitating the issue may be, and they endlessly put you on hold to "talk ton their team" while stalling and asking for more screenshots of the issue, only to tell you a week later that they can't help you.

We use Clio and quickbooks and all transactions have to be inputted a certain way or it will disrupt the accounting.

Worst of all, after setting up a document template in Clio Grow for client intake with our office (30 people), Clio restricted some of the functionality of that document making it even more awkward, to the point where it's unusable for us.

Clio does not migrate this data.   Despite me saying this is the one report I want, and being reassured I could get it.   When they could not generate it, they just told me to hire an outside consultant.  

I would like to be able to email things to the maildrop address from anyone within my domain.   And I would like to be able to e-file from my Clio profile EVEN IF my service email address is NOT my profile email address.

Not only do I organize my digital client files in Clio, I track all my payments and trust accounting, I am able to have team member accountability through task tracking, we have regular and effective communication with the clients through the Clio Client portal. We have shortened the time to receive payments from clients using Clio Pay.

There are still some places that need development in order to meet our needs as a mid size firm.

What I like least about Clio is that there is not an easy way to invoice a client who has hired the firm on a flat rate instead of hourly.

Accounting feature does not offer payroll; Clio Draft is not easier than using the built-in document automation.

Time tracking and invoicing are easy to use, and the client portal allows for paperless practice and document management.

The more non-billing personnel you have and the more users you need makes the program cost outweigh its convenience and lack of flexibility.

They are evaluating an offset of my fees, but no promises, and no solutions as of yet.

My law firm needed more overall so we switched systems but I’m sure I would’ve still enjoyed Clio just the same.

Clio is the only product I would ever use for law firm management.

It connects in such a myriad of ways that I can find connections I did not even realize existed between clients and people on other cases.   When you're in a small community, that is very helpful!!

The cost. And that if you buy a year's license, and someone leaves, you are stuck with the license. Why??

It's costly to have Clio, but it does save having an extra employee and saves from missing a deadline and having client's complain due to lack of communication, so to me it's worth the cost.
