Tier based pricing from Lite to Premier is a bit confusing. WePay advocates having a Chase bank account for faster processing otherwise fails to integrate.

The payment plans are a little frustrating. The limits are on the number of contacts and as a business with lots of contacts and only one transaction often per contact it gets really expensive.

Very simple to use, great choice for simple businesses

Although I know a few larger businesses that still use Freshbooks, for the most part it's really great for startups and freelancers'very intuitive, great interfact, AMAZING customer service. Also I love the native receipt and expense tracking. But ultimately I switched from it because I live in Canada and although it's a Canadian company the pricing is in USA, and to have even a single other person work with the account pushes you into a costly monthly fee in USD. Also it was lacking some features I needed once my business got more complex. Eventually I switched to Zoho Books and haven't looked back!

Pros

- Ease of use - Support - Beautiful interface - Easy expense tracking

Cons

- Limited functionality - Expensive - Poor support for multiple users at a low level

Automatic credit card charging

We love the number of automatic credit card charging integrations in Zoho Books. This is also very full features compared to Freshbooks and now that Freshbooks is doing away with PayPal Payflow in July 2016 this is one of the few providers to maintain that integration (we need it)!

Tons of features and functionality for the money

It helps me manage my billing, invoicing, purchase orders, bills, expenses, etc! I couldn't get paid without it.

Pros

It has all of the bells and whistles that you could possibly need for your bookkeeping software. And if it doesn't have it, there's probably another Zoho product that does it anyway, and they all seem to integrate.

Cons

Took a little while to get used to where things were (switched over from Freshbooks) and the reporting is a little different, but it's all in there!

Pros

Incredibly good value for the price (way cheaper than Freshbooks/Quickbooks) Integrates well with the rest of the Zoho suite Close to everything you'd want from a cloud bookkeeping software

Cons

No payroll (which is a game breaker for some, we're small enough that it doesn't really matter) Missing little nice features from Quickbooks like true reporting tags Freelance bookkeepers don't usually have experience with it

Efficient, affordable took that's essential for my business

I switched to Zoho Books from FreshBooks a little over a year ago when the cost of FreshBooks became unmanageable and free options, such as Wave, did not serve my purposes. I was also looking for a cloud invoicing/expense-tracking system that was less glitchy and easier to use. Zoho Books is all of that. As a sole proprietor, the price suits my budget perfectly. Clients have told me that paying me through Zoho is much easier than paying me through FreshBooks or Wave. At tax time, it's easy to send my Profit & Loss report to my accountant. I also like that I can attach receipts to my expenses. I'm very thankful for Zoho Books and hope they continue to meet the needs of sole proprietors like me.

Pros

Zoho Books is easy for me to use and much easier for my clients to use when paying me. They've given me positive feedback about their invoicing experiences. It's also affordable, which was a huge deciding factor when I switched from another cloud invoicing program.

Cons

I wish I could see when a client has "viewed" my invoice. Also, I didn't realize that listing vendors on my expenses, such as Amazon, would count as "Contacts" and use up some of my slots. I'm glad I know now and I'm rectifying it.

The best invoicing / accounting tool for freelancers, period.

Zoho Books is just a fantastic tool. Coming from Freshbooks and paying a hefty fee for it I was not only limited in terms of features (and paypal support) but also somewhat bored with their lackluster interface. Zoho was great and hit all the marks for me, the interface is simple and intuitive and the price point at my scale is just unbeatable. I can't see any other accounting system after using Zoho Books.

Pros

This is the best bang for buck you can get if you are a startup, an independent freelancer or just need invoicing to start. There is no other system comparable with Zoho at this price point.

Cons

There are many features I didn't test because they are out of realm for my specific needs. I am sure for others they might be important but if these were "enabled as needed" rather than always there cluttering the interface that would be better.

Zoho Books, best move we ever did

As our agency grew we realised that Freshbooks was not cutting it. We needed a solution that gave us a better overview of our accounting and billing. The updates and new features from Zoho Books seem like the roll out on a daily basis, always adding value and ease of use. Customer support is on point, clear communication and always on hand to make sure you are using their product correctly. We have now integrated with Zoho CRM and Projects for a full 360 of our agency processes and needs.

Pros

Simple, clean and clear UI. Nothing has come close. Onboarding our accountants was simple.

Cons

Very minimal, as we are growing we are finding that we need a few features our accountants require, but this is something they can do manually on ther end for now.
