What users say

This was a great tool for me when I first budgeting as a college student.
I was an early adopter to Mint and have enjoyed seeing it blossom into a fully featured program for tracking finances, transactions, investments, debts, expenditures, credit, and much more.

Okay but not great budget app

Reviewed 3 years ago

A cost effective choice to track expenses but I hope the interface would be more minimal. Too many suggestions. If the pending transactions could be more up to date, that would be fantastic.

Pros

I like their self-explanatory and compartmentalized features. Personally I don't think saving accounts should be counted as Cash, which is more like Emergency Fund. But since I don't have much savings anyway, it doesn't matter much.

Cons

Never update pending transactions. It used to grey out pending ones. Users can see but are unable to edit. Too many ads

Missing some nicer features, but the price is right!

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

You can't beat the affordability of the program. Their ad-free version is only $1 a month, and ad-supported is free. It is easy to connect multiple bank accounts, loans, etc. It is easy to add custom transaction types and tags so you can search and sort on whatever criteria you set. Works best for reporting on past transactions.

Cons

Certain bank accounts seem to get disconnected more often than others, and it can be a pain to reconnect. Not a great tool for financial forecasting or tracking future income and bills. Works better for reporting on expenses that have already occurred.

Great alternative to expensive accounting software

Reviewed 2 years ago

I am loving this software. I was hesitant at first after using another software for years, but I was pleasantly surprised and how much I love it and how easy it is to manage my finances.

Pros

I was vert impressed with how easy this software is to set up and use. Very self explanatory. I love that they monitor your money and your spending and alert you when thigs don't seem right or when you go over budget.

Cons

The automatic assignment of some accounts is inaccurate

One of the best money management applications

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

Most of my financial accounts and assets are in my app. Credit, checking, savings, investments, and others are all together. I can see the value of all my accounts at once. I can add bill reminders. I can set spending and saving limits.

Cons

My main negative remark is that the application disconnects from the financial accounts often and I need to re-sign in a lot. In addition, There are many investment funds that the application does not accept, yet. I hope this will change in the future as I will continue to be a user

Life Changing

Reviewed 2 years ago

I am in love with this program. With inflation and the cost of groceries these days my husband and I felt like we needed a better understanding of where we were spending our money. Now we see in real time where each dollar is allocated. It set up a budgeting system for us and allowed us to tweak it to our personal/family needs. Anyone who is not a financial expert should have its. It is really life changing.

Pros

All of your information lives in one space and is extremely easy to see/read. This platform takes all of your spending and shows you where your money is going. The budgeting tool is automated and shows you in real time where you are spending and where you need to cut back.

Cons

Setting up the accounts is time consuming- that is mostly because you need to remember your user name and password for ALL of your bank accounts, credit cards, entertainment, utilities etc. My mortgage company does not participate so I had to figure out how to manually enter that information. If you already are organized and have easy access to all of your accounts then it shouldn't be as stressful as it was for me.

Mint integrates well with Intuit's ecosystem

Reviewed 2 years ago

I will continue to use Mint as an alternative to cost-based options. It does everything I need with no cost. Pretty amazing, actually.

Pros

Super easy to use and very intuitive. It integrates all my personal finance accounts in one place, permitted me to take regular snapshots of my financial picture.

Cons

It takes several minutes to update the accounts once the web-based UI is invoked. I would think this could be done ahead of time instead of based on a user's clicks.

If you want a cheap, basic, easy and good software try out MINT.

Pros

The best thing about mint is that it is FREE. I have used Quickbooks and Freshbooks and had many issues with them.

Cons

I haven't found any issues so for using Mint. You can do basically most thing that you would pay for on mint and its free.

Free and trusted software

Reviewed 2 years ago

I trust Intuit(company that made TurboTax) and I wouldn't want to link my bank accounts and stuff to a random budgeting service.

Pros

It's free, has a lot of functionalities, and owned by Intuit. I like how I can sync all my financial services in one place and track my expenses that way, and the charts for spending and net worth is nice to to look at.

Cons

The UI is a little bit clunky(desktop and mobile) because there are competitors with way better UI(although some cost money).
