Ambula EMR overview

What is Ambula EMR?

Personal injury clinics don't run like regular medical practices. A patient doesn't just come in, get treated, and leave — their case can last months or years, moving through referrals, treatment plans, authorizations, lien billing, records requests, and attorney settlement packages. Generic EMRs are built around the single encounter. They have no concept of the case, the attorney, the lien, or what happens between the first visit and the final settlement check.

Ambula is built specifically for personal injury. It is the only platform that manages the full PI case lifecycle in one system — from the moment a referral arrives to the day records are sent to the attorney.

Who Uses Ambula

Ambula serves personal injury clinics and ambulatory surgical centers across every PI specialty: pain management clinics treating PI patients on lien, orthopedic practices and orthopedic ambulatory surgical centers, neurology and TBI practices handling PI cases, spine clinics managing long-term injury treatment, chiropractic offices doing personal injury work, physical therapy practices treating accident injury patients, psychiatry and mental health practices treating PI patients, and multi-specialty PI clinics combining two or more of the above.

What Ambula Does

PI Case Management — Every case is tracked from referral to settlement in a visual case status board. Staff see exactly where each case stands — which cases are in active treatment, which are waiting on authorizations, which records need to go out, and which are ready for the attorney. Each case shows the patient, the law firm, the date of injury, the treating provider, the last and next appointment, any missing intake documents, unsigned notes, pending orders, and billing status.

Lien Billing and Revenue Cycle Management — Built specifically for PI, PIP, lien, and ASC billing. Covers lien billing, itemized bill generation, eligibility checks, claim submission, and clearinghouse submission — not adapted from a generic platform that was never designed for how PI money moves.

Attorney Portal — Law firms access records and bills directly through a secure portal. No fax, no email chains, no repeated calls. Clinics control what gets shared and when. Attorneys submit record requests and track document status without calling the front desk.

AI Chart Review — Before any records or bills go out, Ambula's AI reviews charts for discrepancies and missing information. Charts go out clean the first time, reducing rejections, delays, and rework.

Clinical Documentation — Scheduling by provider, branch, and appointment type; patient intake and consent forms with e-signature; procedure notes, anesthesia records, and PreOp, IntraOp, and PostOp charts; document storage and records management; tasking, reporting, and multi-user permissions.

ASC Workflows — For PI-focused ambulatory surgical centers: OR scheduling, procedure workflows, facility and professional billing, surgical records, and inventory — all inside the same platform the clinic already runs on.

Ambula is the system of record for personal injury practices — the platform where every case lives, moves, and closes.
