What LIMSey is

LIMSey is a cloud-based laboratory information management system built specifically for engineering and manufacturing test labs. Unlike LIMS platforms designed for clinical diagnostics or pharmaceutical research and later adapted, LIMSey was architected from the start around physical testing workflows: test requests from internal customers, resource-constrained scheduling, equipment calibration traceability, and formatted test reports.

Core functions

Request intake. Internal requesters submit test requests through a portal with custom fields per request type, then track status without contacting the lab.

Job and task tracking. Configurable kanban boards show every job in the lab, grouped by status, requester, tag, or any field you define. Jobs decompose into tasks with dependencies, assigned resources, and estimated durations.

Automated scheduling. Define capability matrices for personnel and equipment, task durations, and job priorities. The AutoScheduler allocates the soonest qualified resource to each task and recalculates the full schedule when durations change, priorities shift, or availability changes.

Sample management. Track samples through receipt, testing, storage, and disposition, with barcode labels and full chain of custody.

Equipment and calibration. Calibration schedules with automated expiration alerts, out-of-tolerance handling, maintenance history, and reverse traceability from a failed as-found calibration to every job the instrument touched.

Training records. Track technician qualifications per test method and gate task assignment on current training status.

Test reporting. Template-driven report generation. Define sections, tables, and layout once, then bind data templates to job data so samples, results, images, and attachments populate automatically. Output to PDF or Excel.

Dashboards and metrics. Turnaround time, throughput by technician or workstream, backlog, and equipment utilization.

AI assistant. Natural language querying against your lab data, returning answers, charts, and tables without report building.
