The absence of a true video-recording option further limits the ability to review continuous activity or reconstruct events accurately.

Instead, I got the same recycled explanation about notice periods. If you do business with ActivTrak, watch your renewal date very carefully, because once they renew you, do not expect much flexibility or a real conversation.

For organizations that want detailed productivity analytics and workforce visibility, it is a strong solution, especially when transparency and consistency are important.

It has been especially helpful for identifying workflow bottlenecks and workload imbalances early, rather than reacting after productivity issues surface.

With the right approach and communication, it provides meaningful data that helps teams improve performance without creating unnecessary friction.

However, there are opportunities to improve reporting capabilities, making it easier to analyze and share productivity trends over time.

ActivTrak is notoriously bad at distinguishing between someone staring at a screen because they are deeply analyzing a creative problem and someone who has simply walked away to get coffee.

The cancellation process is particularly poor—clearly designed to be difficult, as you can't simply opt out of renewal or cancel through the same dashboard used for payments or upgrading your plan. It is really expensive and sometimes I don't know if it is worth what we are paying for it. But there are times when it is helpful like if an employee forgets to log out etc that I can see those things. Or if I think they weren't working hard etc.
