An incredibly powerful tool that allows decision makers to judge the impact of changes on systems and enable them to make faster, better decisions and predictions. Traditional support tools cannot adequately consider complexities, constraints, dynamic interdependencies and variability to support decision-making within such a complex environment.
The incredible flexibility! With AnyLogic's multi simulation paradigm framework a user can implement system dynamics, process-centric modeling (Discrete event) as well as agent-based modeling techniques all in one model AnyLogic is unbelievably flexible and with Java as a backend, there is nothing you can not do. AnyLogic is also at the forefront of new development in the simulation space. Always reinventing their product and offering and leading the simulation world into new technologies like cloud based simulations .
Like anything worth doing it requires some effort to master the basics of the software. But with excellent technical support and great examples and training amterial this can be overcome quite easily.

I'm developing a simulation model to analyze the impact of implementing an air fleet operations management optimizer algorithm. The idea is to check whether the operations policy based on this algorithm results in better fleet availability.
I particularly like the possibility of combining different types of simulation like agent-based and discrete-event. Another key advantage in my opinion is the possibility of communication between Anylogic and an external optimizing script written in Python. Overall, I think this simulation software offers a lot of flexibility and a huge number of possibilities for the modellers to implement their ideas and it counts with a great community that provide great resources open and available on the internet.
I think it would be helpful if there were more detailed and basic tutorials to facilitate the beginners users adaptation.

One of he features of AnyLogic is its versatility. allowing me to tackle and try a wide range of complex problems with a single tool. This flexibility empowers to explore various modelling approaches and combine them as needed to accurately represent real-world systems. And the help that I got throughout the whole process from the AnyLogic team.
One downside I found with AnyLogic is its initial learning curve. Since it's a powerful simulation tool , mastering its intricacies can take some time and dedication.

In general, I am satisfied, as anylogic meets all my needs and I have not yet had to use additional software. This is the main thing for me. I would also be happy if the lessons and training material were more interactive. A good example here is the Matlab tutorials on their official website. They are broken down by topic and first you are given the theory, and then you are given tasks to reinforce it
Simple interface, wide capabilities, and functionality.
Sometimes it's not entirely clear what exactly went wrong, and then you have to go back a few steps to figure it out. Hints don't always help. It also takes a lot of time to learn. I'm not very good at programming and sometimes it's hard to understand java.

AnyLogic is a simulation software that allows the user to combine multiple simulation methods inside one simulation. This is incredibly powerful and results in simulations that are complex, but accurately reflect reality. Their team regularly releases new features and listens to its user base to increase functionality where it is most useful.
The material handling library still needs to be more extensive than it currently is.

My experience was on a study project of a juice production area, I used AnyLogic in the entirety of my project, that is to say from the reception of the raw material until the distribution of final products , and also the use of the concept of GIS which helped us to better choose our distribution channels and the choice of means of transport. The software is almost ideal to use to model and simulate a real phenomenon or rather imaginary, even what changes or what we can modified, AnyLogic help to make this decision
- The speed of response - Multifunctionality: in several fields, for example in the field of transport and logistics, fluids ... - Simplicity in modeling problems
There are gaps at the block level, and capacity of agents.

I use AnyLogic to teach undergradate students. It's very easy to use and there are several material available to guide us how to use the models. The software is very flexible and make us build a simulation very fast. Many sample models. Great features and animation.
The software is very easy to use and great interface. It provides many functions and features that neccesary to simulate discrete event models, agent-based model, system dynamic models. Animation and 3D view are easy to create and adjust. The software compatible with both Windows and MacOS.
Problems with Java is difficult to trace. Sometimes the program crashed or froze.

As an early user, I have given time to learn it and I am starting to understand and enjoy it.
It is handy and easy to work with. Furthermore, its features allow for wider scope of modeling.
It requires time to master. Some early users can consider it complex and difficult to learn.

AnyLogic is an amazing piece of software but it comes like an iceberg: 90% is hidden under water. Getting started is easy but then the learning curve gets quite steep. It massively helps to know OOP because it sits on an Eclipse Java shell. However, this allows you to do *anything*. Need to add this specific behavior? No problem. Want to use this Java package? Go for it. I have been using it for...
Once you understand the core basics (OOP, Java, experimentation...), an immense bag of features and possibilities opens up. The support subscription is quite good value for money as well.
The online community lives on a LinkedIn forum, this should move to a dedicated place or StackOverflow.

I teach modeling and simulation to graduate students, and they are up to speed on the product very quickly. However sometimes bugs can be hard to find, and a knowledge of Java is helpful. The variety of simulation types and domains is great. Also a good way to introduce students to the concept of state machines.
Using the supplied tutorials, getting started is very fast. The graphics are great, and the features do permit fine grained simulation Once knowledgeable, possible to get a simulation up and running in just a few hours.
Product can be a bit buggy. Java faults can be somewhat difficult to trace. Some of the features are still not working (i asked for the priority queue to be fixed, i think it is still not working).

I am happy with the modelling experience with AnyLogic, as it is friendly and easy for beginners to start playing with their own models. However, some of the specific setting related problems are not included in the manual or websites, which are not easy to fix.
I can directly download the online case of fire evacaution model and make some personal modifications. It really helps me to learn some basic functions, which are necessary for the beginners to start with. Besides, as the case supplies a feasible application which is close to my own case application with multiple scenarios, I can extract some of the key functions and apply to my own model without learning from the beginning. This is very helpful to save time for the beginners and I can quickly have a play with my own model but with some personalized settings.
The differenct version are not compatible. For example, if I build a model based on version 8.3, I cannot replicate on version 8.7, which really causes difficulties and time to modify the model from the old version to be feasible in the new version. Besides, some of the errors cannot be easily fixed as there are not enough supports for self-learning version. Though it does have some forums, but some problems are too specific to have exact answers. I would like to have some more in-face conversation for problem-fixing.

Can’t complain. Very glad I have exposure to it.
Within my research we will be making use of Agent-based modelling and System Dynamics. The fact that we can do both within AnyLogic is a massive bonus. I also like the fact that there are som many resources available to learn and develop my modelling skills on the online platform.
The graphics of the application can be a bit more visually pleasing. This is such a small thing to comment about, but yes, I think there is some room for improvement when it comes to the look of AnyLogic.

I had to simulate an urban mobility environment to optimize location allocation of facilities in a custom evolutionary algorithm experiment. Although it took some time to get to know the software (on my own) it was finally achieved.
There is a way to get things done however hard your problem may be. Thanks to its java support and vast library of in built functions. Agent based simulation felt most intuitive and easy to implement in this software compared to others. Support is truly delightful and quick, as long as the questions to the support are clear and short. Anylogic offers great database support to implement large systems with ease.
The real flexibility of using this software comes only with the professional edition, although I could get my work done (with some back and forth to support) with the university researcher license. Offline routing cache is one thing I found missing in 8.6.0, but heard its going to be there in the next version, so not much complaints there.

The best in its class of multi-method tools and as good as any other tool when compared on a single feature basis. The customer support is amazing.
AnyLogic is the only tool supporting all the different simulation techniques and even allowing you to combine them into hybrid models. The ability to expand the drag-drop modeling environment at any time with Java code is really cool. And the ability to export the model as a java applet that will play in any browser is also very cool -- now you can deliver your models to users who don't have sim software installed and would NEVER have it installed -- but they can still run the experiments you design. Customer support like you've never imagined! "Hey, my model doesn't work very well" is an acceptable request! They'll work on it, make it better, do things you never thought of, and send it back. All for free and as many times as you like!"
The feature set is amazing -- in fact, so rich to be a little daunting. This makes the learning curve longer than most tools, not really steeper, aka harder, its just that there's a lot to learn. The documentation is a little dense and the grammar is stiff and formal. I wish there were a simpler, "how to build models the easy way" book as opposed to all this formality.

AnyLogic is very appealing to me because of the ease of use. I have been using AnyLogic for the past half year now and it has been incredibly easy for me to do my work. I use AnyLogic for simulation modeling and I find the software very diverse and easily applicable to any business problem.
The only drawback about AnyLogic I have is the decently high learning curve. AnyLogic takes a bit of time to learn to use to its maximum capacity but once you have an understanding, you can do virtually anything with the software.

Multiparadigm support
Multi paradigm approach. Large database of objects for specific systems (like pedestrian, roads, trains). Ability to draw logic structures (actionchart)
Compared to other discrete events simulation softwares, not easy to obtain statistical metrics (confidence intervals) of usual simulation indicators. NO MONTECARLO IN PLE (it's absolute useless to take a decision with only one datum in a stochastic process) Nor capability of significant statistical parameters of long run simulations. Or warm-up configuration. Very long learning curve

Developing academics models regarding transportation and energy issues.
The software allows to develop hybrid models straightforward. The user interface is very good and is important to highlight that you can run your models through the cloud.
Require skills in java programming. For most IT users that wouldn'be a con but for social scientifics it can be a little complicated when programming agents. On the other hand, have all the java environment can be a plus due to the power of java.

I used AnyLogic for my PhD research where I developed an agent-based model of the construction bidding environment. I am extremely happy with my choice and the results I've got. If you want to develop a scientific model to investigate a research question, AnyLogic is a great option.
I think the most interesting aspect is the flexibility and capability of AnyLogic for developing a variety of simulation models and conducting very diverse but at the same time specific experiments.
The graphical representation could be improved.
