Infosistema DMM might come with a cost, which could be a concern for smaller businesses or organizations with limited budgets.

We need to use a tool to export data from OutSystems to an external database, changing the database type from Oracle to MSSQL in the process. DMM allows us to do so, saving time and money, because developing an application to do these tasks in OutSystems or ETL tools is more expensive than acquiring the DMM product.

Even though exporting the database from OS (source) into external databases works, the logging details are not the best. It is hard to validate that the same number of OutSystems site records matches the ones in the destination database.

It is easy to use its database is very reliable.

Afterall everything is good but there is some integration part missing.

DMM Software is super easy to use, comprehendible, reliable and relatively fast to do the data transfer.

I have a little concern with the user interface. The tech team should at least do some improvements to it.

It was easy to understand. The controls and accessibility of the product is also great. Their Performance Advisor (IPA) integrated with the migration was also a great additional feature in the Outsystems forge component.

The Performance and Functionality wise the application tool is great as it is. But if there is a improvement they can introduce the automatic suggestions based on best practices for certain features.

The way it is easy to learn and the access control provided is kind of handy and easy to use.The Data Synchronization is the best feature that I liked the most as I had a very bad experience in syncing the data in outsystems.

Very easy to use. Relatively quick data transfer. Transfer comes with log files. Good documentation.

Sometimes it would transfer records from other applications that I didn't plan to transfer, and thus creating duplicate records in some of the tables.

Hi Sergii, If you could get in touch with us to clarify what the issue was I'd very much appreciate it! FYI, we recently improved feedback when selecting apps/entities to migrate, in that DMM presents a pop-up saying which additional referenced tables it found - by default, when using DMM you don't need to worry about data dependencies, since it will automatically detect all dependencies and create a migration plan involving all of them to guarantee data consistency. What we did more recently was improving the feedback to the users of when DMM automatically selected additional dependent entities. This presentation of information also allows you to edit/define things like the User Mapped Table in the entity so as to avoid data duplication that you mention. Thanks!

We are always searching for ways to improve our products and tools! FYI, DMM encrypts the data in transfer, and it has the ability to scramble/anonymize/replace/nullify any data fields that contain sensitive information, so it's not a security issue in the destination. Also all accesses to the DMM tool make use of the OutSystems access control features, through a specific DMM role. We are also developing a cybersecurity feature, that will give a report on the sensitive data you have in your OutSystems database, to help in ISO27001 certifications, security analysis and processes. It can delete the data of all tables in one click and you can migrate with same as well with reports

Smart user migration option is not available in trail version.

Hi Sharad, You are correct, the Smart User Migration option is only available for the subscribed Enterprise version. In the Trial or in the DMM Professional versions, the default behavior of DMM will be to migrate all users from Source to Destination, even if the migrated data doesn't have a foreign key (FK) to the user. You can use specific Application properties in any version if instead of just guaranteeing the users exist in the destination and create them if they don't (default behavior), you want to have DMM update User data for those users that already exist in Destination environment. Take into account Users are matched by their Username. Thanks for the feedback!

From a UI perspective, Infosistema DMM still has a margin for evolving given its current simplicity. Considering it is to be enclosed in an OutSystems environment maybe it could follow existing themes and give users a more “familiar feel” and a more intuitive experience for those using it for the first time.

DMM is easy to use and feature rich. It has been a lifesaver for synchronizing our Quality and Test environments using live data from Production. Migration configurations can be saved and loaded on-demand and even scheduled during off-peak hours to minimize impact during peak hours. The ability to filter subsets of data and obfuscate sensitive data such as personally identifiable data is a significant capability for privacy compliance. The responsiveness from support is great and their willingness and ability to implement feature requests in an agile manner is fantastic.

The user interface, while very easy to use, could benefit from some minor improvements when configuring new migrations. With a very large environment containing many modules and entities you may find yourself moving back and forth between two screens until you have located and added all of the tables you want to include, but other than that very minor issue DMM meets our needs perfectly.

For some time now DMM automatically detects all dependencies and includes them, in the "same screen", in the list of entities/apps to be migrated.

Data Migration Manager is a very useful tool that allows the selection of multiple entities in the migration process and save the configuration for later executions

Data Migration Manager should have support to Oracle technology in future releases, in order to allow the migration between Oracle Databases
