Patch My PC with Intune

Reviewed 8 months ago

Patch My PC was an easy win for us, and is well worth the cost compared to the time savings and peace of mind.

Pros

It is, for the most part, a hands off way to patch 90% of our third party apps. Unlike Intune, it offers a UI for staff that I otherwise would have had to spend time creating with PSADT.

Cons

I have an idea posted that I have not received any feedback for. We were hoping PatchMyPC would be able to cover AutoCAD updates for us, though it doesn't seem the tool offers the software we require yet.

Vendor response

Hi Matt, Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting your needs regarding AutoCAD updates. We're always looking to expand our software offerings and will take your input into account as we update our services. We’re happy to hear that Patch My PC has been a valuable addition to your IT setup. If you have any other suggestions or need assistance, we're just a message away! - Justin Chalfant

A huge time saver

Reviewed 2 years ago

Sales and support have been excellent to deal with, honest, straightforward and the online documentation is fantastic!

Pros

1. Easy to deploy updates from a centralized location using the Windows Update Service already in our organization.2. The number of applications it supports is unmatched in the market3. Best price for this type of patching in the market

Cons

Reporting on it is limited, this is an area where we'd like to see growth to give compliance reports. X number of machines need this patch, X number have it installed already, X number pending kind of display would be great!

Vendor response

Thank you for the positive review, Bill! We're happy to hear that our product has been a huge time saver for you and your team. We're considering improvements to our reporting in the future, so stay tuned!

Ensuring PCI-DSS and ISO compliance of your EUC estate

Reviewed a year ago

Excellent solution to automatically ensure end-user-compute devices are always to the very latest secure versions of application.Fully automated solution thereby eradicating resource cost.Ease of deployment of additional software solutions not previously available to the end-users.

Pros

1) Zero-touch maintenance of application packaging, removing menial tasks from the Security team and removing time spent to comply with annual audits.2) Integration with Intune. 3) Reducing resource cost by automation

Cons

Patch My PC should use feedback and forum suggestions to package additional generally available software packages. There seems to be a long delay between an item being added to the ideas forum and any progress towards packaging.

Vendor response

Thank you for the review, Peter! We'll take your feedback to our Engineering team about the delay in getting ideas turned into features for our product. We're always looking for ways to improve, so we'll see what we can do to improve on this front. We appreciate your support!

Patch My PC is well worth the price!!!!

Pros

Automating application packaging and having these sync to both Intune & SCCM is amazing!

Cons

The 3rd party catalog doesn't cover all of the applications we currently have, but it does have a large catalog that covers most.

Vendor response

Thank you for the positive feedback here, Malcolm! Feel free to add any apps you'd like to see added to our catalog in the future to our User Voice at ideas.patchmypc.com. We'll do our best to get them added!

PMPC a superior product in every way.

Reviewed 2 months ago

First class. This is the second company that I've setup with PMPC and the product just keeps getting better.

Pros

I've tested a few 3rd party patching products now and PMPC is far superior, easier to setup and manage and much more cost effective for any organization.

Cons

Intune reporting is lacking compared to ConfigMgr reporting but we're expecting that to be improved.

Vendor response

Thank you for the fantastic review, Chris. We're happy to hear that Patch My PC has been superior in your experience, offering ease of setup and management, as well as being cost-effective for your organization. It's great to know that you've found the product to be consistently improving, and we appreciate your continued support in multiple companies. We understand your feedback about Intune reporting...

Set and Forget patching

Reviewed 8 months ago

to date it has been a really positive experience, I would recommend that you reach out to Patch My PC. They offer competitive pricing and will work with you to set it up if you need it!

Pros

I really love the dynamic rules for patching; if there is a zero-day patch, my rules to implement that patch are forceful, and Patch My PC pushes and enforces that patch immediately. If it is a smaller update, the rules will be less forceful. I never have to check that it does its job because I have seen it perform reliably every time!

Cons

I'd like to see a webUI instead of an installable application.

Vendor response

Hi Derek, Thank you for your excellent review and for highlighting the effectiveness of our dynamic rules for patching. It’s great to hear that Patch My PC has consistently delivered reliable performance, allowing you to manage updates effortlessly. Very high value for the money

Reviewed a year ago

We have significantly reduced our vulnerability count. Our application packagers don't need to worry about packaging updates to the vast majority of our 3rd party applications each month.

Pros

Initial integration was very easy. PatchMyPC has high quality setup instructions and very detailed writeups for all of the features for their product. They even have great documentation and videos on how to use SCCM itself. The PMPC team clearly understands the product they are supporting.

Cons

I honestly can't think of anything that needs improvement with their product.

Vendor response

Thank you for the raving review! We appreciate hearing that you've referred to our documentation and videos for support. Thanks for choosing us, again!

We Love Patch My PC

Reviewed 8 months ago

The dollars-to-time-saved value here is astronomical. A few thousand in licensing per year prevents hundreds, probably thousands of staff hours per year in patching, pushing. configuring, and troubleshooting software updates. Why spend hours every month figure out how to push out this month's seven new chrome versions, and an update for adobe, and that new app the new C-level just had to have? Pay patch-my-PC instead and let them deal with the details of common software updates while you do something more interesting.

Pros

Huge time savings. Reasonable cost. Large catalog of supported apps. Excellent documentation and resources. Software is reliable and requires very little maintenance.

Cons

I guess you do lose some degree of control by outsourcing app updates, but that is certainly a pro for me

Vendor response

Hi Luke, Thank you for your glowing review! We’re happy to hear that Patch My PC is providing substantial time savings and value to your government administration operations. It sounds like our solution is effectively simplifying your software update processes, which is exactly what we aim for. We understand the concern about losing some control over app updates, but we're glad to see that the trade-off is beneficial for you, allowing you to focus on more strategic tasks. We appreciate your recognition of our extensive app catalog and our resources. If you ever have questions or need further assistance, our team is here to help. Thanks again for choosing Patch My PC and for sharing your positive experience. - Justin Chalfant

Simple solution to patch entire enterprise

Reviewed 5 months ago

Friendly team, cheaper than you'd expect it to be and incredibly easy to use.

Pros

Using PatchMyPC to push updates into Intune is so easy to set up and manage, and it just keeps the whole fleet of machines patched.

Cons

It's very simple and light on for features - basically you deploy updates or you don't. However, this is all we wanted it for, so it's not a negative at all.

Patch My PC Is A Must Have

Reviewed a year ago

Phenomenal. From the initial support of setting up the product to continued maintenance, my experience has been excellent.

Pros

The feature I love is updating newly released software versions that my organization uses daily. Implementing Patch My PC in my company has freed my admins to focus on more important things than ensuring Chrome is patched. The cost savings have been tremendous, and I have already doubled my return on investment.

Cons

No cons. I had one negative experience in which a version number was mismatched with Edge or WebView 2 that, made Edge unusable, but we were able to remediate.

Vendor response

Thank you for the positive feedback. We're happy to hear that your experience has been excellent and that you were able to get your one negative experience resolved!

Still best bang for your buck

Reviewed 2 years ago

Between an overworked software packager and security coming to us constantly with zero-day vulnerabilities we needed something to deal with both issues. Patch My PC has solved both, and at a price that would almost be comical if it wasn't the tipping point in selling it to management

Pros

The automated aspect of how it creates both apps and updates in Intune, and the subtle scripting between the two able to be deployed in tandem, is downright miraculous. The ability to set up deployment assignments from the tool so that all new apps and updates go out to and are scheduled with a test-pilot-prod cycle results in a much high confidence level in our ability to keep our software updated within days of a new release

Cons

I'm not a fan of having to host a server for the publishing tool for something uploading to the cloud. Only other complaint would be better, and more automated reporting

Value for the money

Patch My PC has revolutionized the way we deploy 3rd party applications by automatically downloading the updates, creating the deployment packages and assigning them to our test groups and the Enterprise at the same cadence we deploy monthly OS patches.

Pros

Ease of use and very easy to set up. Really great support and fast response to questions / issues

Cons

The integration between our Config Manger and Intune environments was super easy.

Simple to deploy, set and forget 3rd party patching

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

We were searching for an affordable, agentless way to manage our suite of apps in Microsoft Endpoint/Intune. PatchMyPC was able to offer such a service with a simple console to keep the applications up to date as the vendor updates them.I also enjoy deploying new updates in a ring method to ensure it can be piloted before mass deployment.

Cons

Currently doesn't allow for bring your own applications. Some applications like Java and FortiClient VPN require manual download into a repository before deployment.

Patch My PC is a game changer

Pros

The value for money offered by Patch my PC is unrivalled. Very easy to implement and configure it takes care of deploying software updates which otherwise would have to be deployment manually each time a new version is out. This saves a lot of time and helps us stay up to date and secure.

Cons

I think the supported software library could be expanded. Especially things like computer manufacturer's drivers and firmware would be a great addition.

Very impressed with the product and have already recommended it to other IT professionals.

Pros

Ease of setup initially, easy to follow KB's and once it's setup it can pretty much be left alone to do it's thing! Also pricing is very reasonable.

Cons

Lack of cloud option and having vm costs, but i know that is almost ready to go now. A migration option to move from a vm to cloud would be a nice feature.
