What is Simplicité?

Simplicité is a low-code platform based on open technologies and universal languages like Java, SQL, and HTML that allows the development of business applications.

The aim of the Simplicité platform is not to simplify user needs, but to make the implementation of all basic or complex functionalities as simple as possible. To achieve this, it brings together in a single environment all the phases of a project's life cycle:

- Planing: Design assistance in graphic form.

- Building: Design of functions by parameterization and coding of specific functions.

- Testing: Real-time audit and usage as the design progresses.

- Deploying: Dor versioning/deploying to a cloud environment (or on-premise).

- Run/operating: Supervision of the platform, usage history, and performance monitoring.

As Simplicité is its own model, it is also possible to overload the platform itself and thus customize the native objects like users, objects, fields, processes, actions, and more to add behaviors or code. The runtime of a low-code platform is generally a black box, but with Simplicité there are many doors to see everything or customize it to your taste.

Key benefits of using Simplicité

User experience: Simplicité generates on-the-fly menu, navigation, simple or grouped lists, composite forms, pivot tables, tree or Kanban views, tile/masonry display, social and collaborative functions, simple or full-text search, management of display preferences by a user, dashboards and graphs, editing, printing, responsive/mobile interfaces, custom themes, maps, undo/redo, etc.

API services: Simplicité administers the logical model of objects and physical access to data and documents, business rule management, process orchestration, session and data logging and traceability, rights and scopes management, app-store to distribute its modules, documentation, etc.

No-code: citizen-users (non-developers) can collaborate and build certain functionalities through visual tools such as the drag-and-drop form and object editor, and the graphical modeler of diagrams (objects, processes, states, rights, tables, etc.), and modify lists of values, online help or labels, among other things.

Powerful and durable technology: classic architecture for a full-stack developer, with an application server and a transactional database on the back end (generally Tomcat, Java, and SQL) and the usual web technologies on the front end (HTML/CSS, jQuery, Bootstrap) with the possibility of integrating more specific third-party components (Vue, Angular or React via Simplicité helpers to access the APIs quickly, but which may be replaced one day by more fashionable technologies)

Integration: Simplicité is fluent in Open API REST, Swagger, JSON, YAML and XML and natively integrates connectors to third-party services: Drive, JCloud, Google, Docusign, Stripe, Trello, Slack and it is possible to integrate one's own connectors or ask the editor to add some if they are of interest to all.

Development tools/DevOps: Simplicité has its own online code editor (via ACE editor) and allows connection to your favourite IDE (Eclipse, VSCode, IntelliJ or Theia), with project packaging in Maven (or Gradle) and code auditing by SonarQube. Docker images are designed for any database (HSQLDB, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle, SQLServer) and open to the developer.

Security: In Simplicité, all access to data, documents, or processes is strongly enabled from the user login, with native integration of LDAP/SAML, OpenID Connect, Custom SSO, JWT tokens, and even Crowd from Atlassian. Simplicité has been extensively tested for robustness against XSS/CSRF attacks.

Operation: The platform supervises what it executes, i.e. the management of logs, user sessions and quotas, the crontab and the history of asynchronous tasks, mass imports of data, user feedback, monitoring, and analysis of hot performance, and clustering in a distributed architecture.
