Testim product overview

What is Testim?

Testim is the fastest way to create your most resilient UI tests for custom web applications. Testim’s AI-powered self-healing and auto-improving Smart Locators keep your tests stable and minimize maintenance. Execute parallel, cross-browser tests on Testim’s grid or on third-party grids.

Key benefits of using Testim

  • Thousands of tests can be run in parallel across multiple browsers, and tests can be run on-premise, in users’ private clouds, or on the Testim cloud.

  • Actions taken within apps are captured as screenshots, HTML DOM can be saved in cases where tests fail and debugging is required, and Applitools Eyes integration allows users to visually compare test results.

  • Bugs can be reported to bug tracking systems with a click, with all required information attached.

  • Thousands of parameters are analyzed for each element, and Testim weighs their overall reliability before ranking them accordingly.

  • Tests can be created either by recording or by code, or both can be utilized in any combination.

  • Users can run tests with full OS, browser, starting URL, and other customization capabilities, different conditions, and different data sets.

    Pros
The support is excellent and details documentation. The reports generated are very helpful and it's great that I can implement Testim right into our workflow.
Second, being stable, reliable and intuitive solution, it allows achieving impressive outcome quite fast. Following best practices, it is quite easy to build very scalable automation project.
The product has excellent documentation which guides you through the onboarding process, in addition the sample project and examples are incredibly helpful.
    Cons
Once a test fails in the grid, no email alerts are provided until the suite passes again. Scrolling in the app under test has to be worked around.
Pricing model is very weird when you start using the product. It's very hard to define how many tests you run if you don't know how to define a single test in a new system you are unfamiliar with.
The two major features missing for our needs are integration with Azure Devops at test-case level and copy tests between projects.
