Also, it feels like Get Connected tries to be a "one size fits all" type of management software, which for the most part is okay, but my volunteer program is somewhat unique and very diverse, and it doesn't work for some of what we do.

This can make progress slow if you are transferring from one software to this one as both staff and volunteers become used to the new program.

I like the ease of the features and how thorough the resources are in terms of accessibility and understanding for myself, agency managers, and volunteers on the site.

Some of our less tech-savvy volunteers don't like having to sign up for each event when they come to multiple events a week, every week.

The website does tend to send our volunteers a great deal of automatic emails which some people find annoying.

In many ways, you have to be prepared to shape your program to how Get Connected is setup instead of vice-versa.

There are also certain levels of inflexibility with the program that requires creative workarounds.

Get Connected has allowed us to streamline our volunteer program.

I love the email tool as a boost in communicating an event or need - when someone receives a personal email the response is always greater.  

We just have trouble with convincing them to create an account and record their time for each individual event/meeting etc.

Galaxy Digital's Get Connected software is easy to set up and customize to your needs.

Overall, Get Connected has been a major upgrade from my previous management software.

These are not cons, but items I wish we could have available.

I'm very excited with the possibilities Get Connected offers.

The surface-level features for agencies has turned many organizations away from joining our platform

My only wish is that all nonprofit organizations would set up an account for their volunteer and event needs.

Not user friendly for older users/non-tech friendly folks; some features that we sought out DO exist, but not necessarily in the way we needed them to work; some reporting/filters seem counter-intuitive to working with the population system was built for (ex: very difficult to narrow down active, current volunteers based on how recently they "worked" or submitted hours); does require a LOT of training for both staff and volunteers

I love that I can "assume the primary manager" and make changes for our partners, if needed.

However, the sales rep made it seem like it would be easy to add fundraising and convinced me it would work.

My experience and use is rather basic, therefore I do not have any suggestions for improvements.  

Finally, after all of these issues, I contacted the company within 6 weeks and explained that this was not what I thought it would be.

This was a huge turnoff to the civic groups that I pitched this platform to.

It was extremely valuable during March of 2020 at the onset of COVID.

In cases like the volunteer shift check in/out process, there could be more admin control created for when accidents happen like volunteers forgetting their VolunteerMatters password or simply forgetting to check in or out.
