Joist overview

What is Joist?

Joist is a billing and invoicing platform, which assists contractors in insulation, masonry, drywall, electrical, fencing, flooring, carpentry, and other sectors with customer management, online payments, work orders, and more. Professionals can create estimates with cost markups, deposit requests, payment schedules, and job images.

Joist allows administrators to view monthly sales reports, track outstanding invoices, record payments and add business logos to customize invoices according to requirements. Individuals can accept credit card payments and store, export or access customer information within a unified platform. Professionals can receive notifications about opened and viewed invoices or estimates. It also offers mobile applications for Android and iOS devices.

The system enables contractors to organize, manage, synchronize and automate bookkeeping data with Quickbooks Online. Using Joist, contractors can also share invoices and offer custom payment schedules for customers.

“We use it to send invoices for remodeling and construction projects to our clients and their insurance adjusters.”

“Growing into a bigger company we needed more, like: calendar, more accounts (so installers will see their schedule)”

“Its good it saves previous work but when every job consists of different details it inputs too much info not related or needing to be switched and updated.”

Cons
“Not enough options like project managing, customer portal, messaging, no calendar, no integrations with marketing suite.”
KP

Konstantin P.

“They increase the price while they hold your information hostage and customer support when present is a chat screen that is hit and miss hours or days of AI style support with a serious breakdown in communication like talking to a bot”

“Unfortunately, we had to change to something that would work for our business in project management as that seriously lacked.”

It provides a basic sync, which is nice, but still requires cleanup on the QBO side.

so as to not make many mistakes when doing keying time for payroll

All our clients use QBO, so it's critical that our close software integrates with each other. It creates seamless work and reports across the board.
