What is Undelete?
Undelete is a real-time file recovery software designed to help businesses protect and retrieve missing files from desktops, Windows servers, and application servers including Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint. It automatically captures previous versions of deleted as well as overwritten Word, PowerPoint CAD, and Excel files and stores them in the platform’s recycle bin.
Key features of Undelete include self-service recovery, data protection, file versioning, electronic file shredding, and automated data purging. Businesses can utilize the search functionality to locate files, which were deleted within a period of one-day or week's timeline, recreate original folder paths, and view recovered files on a unified console. The application uses InvisiTasking technology to automatically run background operations for purging data, moving files, overwriting disk spaces via a Wipe Free Space module, and adjusting the size of the recycle bin.
Undelete allows businesses to utilize cloud hosting services such as OneDrive to store recycle bin and save local storage space. It also provides inclusion and exclusion list creation capabilities, which let administrators specify names or types of files and folders to protect or automatically retrieve in case of deletion.
