Pros

The features of Jira are very useful, help track multiple projects with ease. Helps a ton in collaborating with other team members efficiently.
Jira is pretty straight forward. Once you get used to how to set up a Jira, and subscribe to notifications it works on auto-pilot helps to get track of complex issues, resolution and monitor progress.
Slack integration is super useful and the ability to write JQL and integrating with Google sheet is immensely useful.

Pros

Customer support was great and really helpful - [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] went above and beyond to successfully help me several times, I do appreciate it.
Their support is also incredibly responsive and friendly, and their documentation is good. It's been really easy for me to teach myself the ins and outs of the product and get answers to my questions.
Good, support are brilliant. Often find the solution complicated, requiring research and dedication on how to set it up correctly.

Cons

It has limited number of software integrations. Error notifications can be annoying sometimes.
If you accidentally click on the wrong name, the submitter gets a notification when it is assigned, and then another notification when you fix this by assigning it to the correct name.
Sometimes Jira does not work for some time and that makes it hard to track work. It has server problems often.

Cons

It can suck up a lot of time just configuring and experimenting.
The inability to two-way integrate with Pivotal Tracker has proven extremely difficult in optimizing our workflow with our other teams (design, engineering etc.).
During the evaluation period I did not find any specific features that I dislike.

Switching from Aha to JIRA was a seamless process and I was able to use JIRA the next day.

Our team switched from Aha to JIRA. The transition was great and we were able to see all of our files transferred.

Cons

I am still getting used to JIRA. It is much different from other project management tools I have used but I really enjoy the modern and intuitive design.

Great part of an integrated solution from Atlassian. The go to solution for today's Agile shops. The Jira functionality is almost lar with the old Rally Dev but the integration points make it a superior product.

Pros

Visibility into the progress on the boards. Very useful for tracking and identifying impediments to progress. Love the integration with Aha!

Cons

The lack of parent/child user story functionality. Also, setting up new sprints is not as user friendly as it could be.

My team uses this for requirement tracking during implementation as well as bug fixes. its a great repositiory and allows for a lot of inter-relationships with other apps like AHA!.

Cons

There is a real learning curve to this software. If you don't know what you're doing you can make mess out of a project.

One of the finest and clearly the most used CRM across organization. No other CRM software has matched it's overall features. Also it's integration with 'Aha' tool has given stakeholders to stay with Jira even more

Pros

Jira gives you felxibility to create tasks/stories and manages the same in your own way at every possible level. It does not restrict anyone from not doing anything except if restricted by administrator. Agile board and Kanbann is something any organisation would love using it with Jira when migrating from classing waterfall model to Agile/scrum. Also timesheet management feature gives your organization to manage financial reporting

Cons

For cross reference a jira case, one has to open both in separate window. Having a view of taking look at all cases on the same screen would help. Also Dashboard view is not efficient. Every time one clicks on dashboard,it takes you to the 1st page of dashboard rather than taking you to the relevant dashboard page which you were working on earlier

Pros

Being able to manage and order all of the pieces of a project is pretty slick! More importantly, I can judge and evolve the velocity of my team's work speed by understanding how fast projects move from beginning to end.

Cons

It was rather difficult to connect with our other project management software, Aha!, but we did get it to work in the end. It just took a lot longer than anticipated and set us back a few days.

Streamlining the development process and saving serious time while working on complex projects involving many different departments and interests. JIRA is a one-stop tool for optimization of the development process and will immediately be felt across any business taking advantage of the platform.

Pros

The ticket management system is easy to use, intuitive, and logical. The Epic / Story / Ticket format allows for easy management of different tasks in projects, and allows project managers and developers to interface seamlessly and easily. JIRA has many pre-built templates for projects and includes functionality for building ticket templates of your own, further optimizing a time-consuming process. The editing and tagging of different tickets allows for incredible amounts of accountability when working, especially between different departments.

Cons

The JIRA interface can be bland, though it is functional. While JIRA does have many capabilities that go beyond basic ticket management, without a full hands-on tutorial it can be very difficult to find extra features and take advantage of them. While JIRA is versatile and can integrate with many platforms, there are some issues with those integrations and troubleshooting them can become quite cumbersome. Our business used Aha! and stopped with the project management program due to issues with our JIRA, as an example.

Powerful and Intuitive

We use Jira to manage our software development process. In our organization we have teams developing across the technology spectrum and Jira has what it takes to facilitate the unique needs of every team. Some teams like shorter sprints, some like longer sprints. Some teams prefer Kanban some prefer Agile. Some like to estimate their work in hours, some like to abstract their estimations through point or size systems. Some teams follow a different process for addressing bugs or implementing and rolling out new features than others. Some teams like to structure their work differently (maybe treat stories and epics differently than other teams). Jira facilitates it all. It's excellent software.

Pros

There's a lot to like about Jira. This is a software package that very much understands exactly where it fits in the application development life-cycle. It supports integration with lots of different idea management tools like Aha! and Jama. It integrates well with email exchange systems such as Outlook so you can create issues through email. It integrates with source code repositories so you can associate check-ins to work. The user interface just makes sense. They've done so much to remove the noise that you see in many other software project development management tools. Managing users, permissions, project types (Kanban, Agile), creating epics, managing user stories, issues, bugs, metrics, burn downs etc. is just intuitive in this application.

Cons

There's literally next to nothing to criticize about Jira. All the the features are easy to use and discover, its responsive and has no bugs.

Pros

Having always up-to-date roadmaps/presentations that are shared with stakeholders. Excellent customer support service and user guides.

Cons

Jira integration is limited - story points in JIRA are not automatically reflected in Aha!. The report creation tool is complex to master.

OBSESSED WITH AHA

I didn't think I needed Aha! but my PM convinced me to use it and now I love it so much. We primarily use it as an integration with JIRA, but there is no better way to conduct high level planning with stakeholders and then bring it down to all of the user stories, bugs, and tasks that then need to go into JIRA. Their integration w JIRA is solid and gets better all the time. I LOVE this product. If you're someone who has a lot of senior level stakeholders who don't understand agile development, or who want to see the 50,000-foot picture of product roadmaps, you need something like Aha! It's been a lifesaver for me.

occassional glitches w JIRA integration, but they usually get fixed

Pros

Aha integrates with Jira and can help create roadmaps and epic planning.

Cons

The integration with Jira was a little cumbersome and the terminology out of the box was tough to change.

Pros

I like the tight integration it has with Jira. We are able to create Features in Aha and push them to Jira. It creates all the links between the two and had both way synchronization.

Cons

It can be a little hard to navigate at first, but once you understand the menu it gets easier. Also the Jira integration takes a bit to figure out.

More than just Roadmap software

Aha is a great SaaS platform with huge potential to solve Program/Project management challenges at any organization.

Pros

Originally researched and purchased as a means of providing better roadmaps and visibility, Aha has done that and so much more. We really enjoy the different features Aha offers including the SWAT analysis, vision statement, personas, goals and initiatives. All these tools help keep us focused on what matters most for our customers and company and provides a simple interface to manage it all. That said, Roadmaps are still the single most loved part of Aha and that alone make the service worth the investment. Their response times to emails are also amazing.

Cons

The largest issue we have with the Aha platform is the integration with Jira. Our existing Jira instance is self-hosted and locked down to internal network connections. Having IT open our network to allow import/export to Aha has proved to be our largest challenge to date – which admittedly shouldn’t be terribly difficult. Other than Jira integration, the cost structure could be better and include more users for less.

Tech support is excellent and fast.The integration with JIRA is very powerful, once set up.

Cons

It's hard to find and create reports. The "Ideas" tab is confusing since it's similarly named to the "AHA Ideas" portal.

What I enjoyed the most about Aha! is that among all the products in the market, this is the only one that provides a clear step-by-step guide from strategy to execution. The ideas portal and Aha! scorecard are also unique features that make it easy to generate and prioritize stories. Lastly, the JIRA integration is great!

Cons

As a product owner, I would have liked to stick to one software for both planning as well as running scrum. Aha! allows for the first but for execution, I am compelled to use JIRA, although with integration with JIRA. I would like Aha! to also provide scrum running capacity.

Pros

We have been using Aha! for >2 years for features and releases across various product lines. Aha! provides ability to capture product features and release info in once place by abstracting all the information from Jira. With Aha! <> Jira integration it makes it easy for Product Managers to link the features with Jira Epics. As a Program Manager, I am able to see the relevant view of Product feature development status across all product lines and generate weekly reports for execs

Cons

Dependency Management - Aha! allows linking tickets for dependencies. But the report is not usable until we see a graphic view of how each feature is aligned over a timeline Aha! reports - There are very few options for Customizing the report for look and feel. Currently we are referring the data by creating the report manually

Good product and one of the best SAS solutions in the product strategy space. Hoping the new service model they are adopting doesn't alienate existing customers but time will tell.

Pros

Ease of use, thoughtful design, ability to manage backlog of ideas and promote to a roadmap and subsequently JIRA for execution

Cons

The service model that Aha! is evolving towards is self-service unless you subscribe to their Enterprise+ licensing tier and meet a certain minimum number of seats. Disappointing to not get the same level of service commitment that the company provided in their early days but they claim a "lean" servicing model per my recent discussions with their Customer Success department.

Couldn't live without this product

I love this product, it has been great to use, and the customer support is outstanding and always able to help me solve my issues.

Pros

The ease of use is awesome, and bringing new users onboard is simple and quick. The integration to JIRA, and SSO, makes my administration and use simple and straightforward. It allows me as a product manager to manager the roadmap, and dev to concentrate on their JIRA environment which they are comfortable in.

Cons

The presentation module could use some more customizations, and tools, it is OK, but I end up creating PDF's and moving them to powerpoint.
