Pros

The features of Jira are very useful, help track multiple projects with ease. Helps a ton in collaborating with other team members efficiently.
Jira is pretty straight forward. Once you get used to how to set up a Jira, and subscribe to notifications it works on auto-pilot helps to get track of complex issues, resolution and monitor progress.
Slack integration is super useful and the ability to write JQL and integrating with Google sheet is immensely useful.

Pros

Super easy to use, powerful features, ability to invite guests for FREE, Great technical support, lots of video tutorials available.
ClickUp has some truly inspired design and feels lighter and more fun to use than many other management tools. It's easy to learn and new, useful features are consistently rolled out.
Great experience with the product initially I was a bit hesitant to use and recommend it because I did not know about the product at all but once I started using it I fell in love with it.

Cons

It has limited number of software integrations. Error notifications can be annoying sometimes.
If you accidentally click on the wrong name, the submitter gets a notification when it is assigned, and then another notification when you fix this by assigning it to the correct name.
Sometimes Jira does not work for some time and that makes it hard to track work. It has server problems often.

Cons

Too complex for an individual's needs, sometimes illogical, and a terrible android app is the icing on the cake.
After a few months I still get confused about the sapce/folder/list/task hierarchy and use the wrong terms when describing my "location" in the software.
Sometimes had an error when trying to make a new list and could not find any documentation about the error online.

Old Faithful But Not My Favorite Choice

JIRA helps us stay focused and organized throughout the software development process.

Pros

Jira is commonly used by software dev teams to manage tickets, issue, and in general projects. We've found that using Jira with the entire Atlassian suite of products gives us a robust framework for organizing our work and defining workflows.

Cons

Complexity. We've tried several other solutions (ClickUp, Trello, etc) to try and free ourselves from Jira and reduce the number of tools we use to get things done.

We use jira to manage development tasks at the company I work for. I've had experience with other products (trello / clickup), but I always found the most complete jira.

Pros

I really like the design of Jira, I think it is very elegant. I also like the freedom to customize things.

Cons

There are some things that are quite complex; It looks bad for new users. The adaptation time is long to be able to use something beyond the basics

Professional Project Management Suite Comes with Expensive Price Tag

Jira has never led me into trouble, it is reliable, efficient and just serves the purpose. It suits to small, medium or even large-scale project management work, and I have no worries using it.

Pros

Jira is the industry-leading project management suite, and it provides A+ grade customer support. Whenever there is a problem with the Jira server, I can log a support ticket, and Jira has provided great support to fix it.

Cons

So expensive. There are state-of-the-art new project management tools available now, such as ClickUp. When comparing Jira with other latest project management products, I think Jira pricing is way too higher.

I used Jira a lot as a bug tracker and then as Project Scheduling/managment software. It is a nice tool, but today I'm prone to use Asana, Clickup or monday

Pros

Original approach to bug tracking, that evolved to project Scheduling, with an easy integration with other Atlassian tools.

Cons

Sometimes is hard to see the big picture. Other, new platforms have better approach for small projects

Jira - Better for Big Organzation

- it's certainly easier to fly a small plane than a A380, but they are different. Lot's of IT setup and planning for Jira to be fully utilized. If you only need a simply tool or limited time and budget, there are better tools out there. Also, I find the interface a bit outdated.

Pros

- it is a power suite if you use other Atlassian products together (all in one suite make much financial sense as well as making support easy - provide good visualization of the project roadmap for the team - love the fact that it is easy to customize ticket view for the specific use of my team

Cons

- There is a log of effort in setting up Jira to make it user friendly. It certainly a powerful tools, but it does require heavy setup for it being use with power. I am not certain if small businesses would find the extra work worthy (maybe ClickUp or PivotalTracker would be easier?) - I find searching in Jira is not as easy as i would hope for. - We got into some issues with single assignee restriction in Jira

Das mit „let’s make a deal“ in Aussicht gestellte Angebot, da wir ein startup sind. Leider hab’s das nie. Ist nur unlauteres Lockmittel bzw. betrug.

Cons

Onboarding hat Wochen gedauert da sich trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage keine mit dem Angebot meldete. Hat schwere Verzögerungen verursacht bei uns.

Jira Refugee Found Home at ClickUp

We track ticket in a small team development situation. It lets me keep on top of remote teams in an easy way.

Pros

We had two accounts on Jira, it was easier to move both to ClickUp and combine them, than combine them on Jira. Think about that. Jira is indifferent. As a bonus ClickUp is a huge improvement! Way easier UI, more thoughtful features. I mostly work in the board view and individual tickets. It's just smooth and easy.

Cons

The mobile app is solid, but is sometimes hard to edit messages on. Honestly our experience has been great.

The best application for tracking and documenting of software development using scrum methodology

I am using ClickUp to document code changes, bug fixes, deployments of code, document user stories, manage multicompany development of NAV, so that I can easily track code changes inside NAV database and I can simply search for my task on ClickUp that described what and why some code has been changed.

Pros

First, it is free, for now I am the only user, since I work as 1-man-band where I am implementing Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 at an end-user with multiple companies around the globe, and since I always used Jira, Team Foundation Server to track and document software development, I had to find some alternative and I found ClickUp - easy to use, intuitive, great UI and I found it even more usable then Jira, which I used before. I have configured my own labels, so I can label my tasks each time I open a task, and based on that I filter for my To-Do list. I am eager to get paid version in near future, due to limitation of free version (file storage capacity).

Cons

Nothing really, it fits my needs as expected, I even like it more then the Jira, and I really loved Jira:) Perhaps, there are event too many options available since I am a single user, at the moment.

overall its positive. I am coming from a Jira background where alot of integrations are already inplace. Also a couple articles on the clickup way of common jira board types would be helpful to new users.

Pros

Fairly easy to use, very flexible, love the ability to create templates for the lists/spaces

Cons

i find it hard to dismiss the WISYWIG in the editor. Should just dismiss on escape key. Need to be able to change task time taken with commits like in Jira. The bitbucket integration should bring the commit users name through into the comment list, not the user that setup the integration. From an agile perspecitve im unsure how I can measure velocity (either time or story points) to see how my team members are progressing.

Has been overall quite positive it is still early days though.

Pros

Easier than JIRA, and quite polished. Makes it easy to get used to.

Cons

Have not used it to let you know what least I like about it. If I had to choose one thing, it was remember the name of the product hence the recall of the link for the login.

Pros

The UI is fantastic, and ease to setup and use.

Cons

Lacking of plug-in as compare to other like Jira, and might be expensive for small business

Not as extensive as Jira, better than trello

it was good but in the end we end up going back to jira

Pros

It is very easy and intuitive while still having many features

Cons

it is not good enough to replace jira for enterprise customer, but if you have a small team, it can be really good

Pros

ClickUp is a JIRA, but without the hassle of the developers view of things (like a backlog and having to release tickets)

Cons

I really enjoy everything about this product. I don't use it anymore since my company switched to JIRA.

ClickUp Project Planning

I use JIRA at my day job and found myself working on a personal project where I wanted something similar. I didn't want to pay for a JIRA account. ClickUp's free version met a lot of my needs like having sprints, roadmaps, tickets, and backlogs.

Pros

ClickUp is a decent JIRA-like project planning tool. You can setup Spaces for different projects with roadmaps, sprints, and backlogs pretty easily. ClickUp's free version works well if you want something like JIRA without paying for an Atlassian product.

Cons

It's a little bit difficult to create new sprints and duplicate boards to be continued. The UI can be a bit overwhelming, but I've found this to be the case with many similar tools.

Good Product Overall

ClickUp is a strong product and I am an early user. I would like it more if it had more advanced features similar to JIRA, but I will say it looks much better than JIRA. Has a lot of potential.

Clickup Review (after using it a few weeks)

We have been trying various tools and so far we are quite happy with Clickup. We need to test integrating our dev workflows and will soon have a better picture if it fulfills all our needs

Pros

- Subtasks - Assignment of comments - shortcuts - speed compared to tools like Jira - notifications - animations to learn new features

Cons

- overwhelming sometimes (especially when you are new) - some design elements (e.g. filters, how to create a new project) are not always intuitive

Extremely fexible and continuously improving project management software

Allowed us to improve and automate our customer & relation service processes using direct integrations via Zapier and Integromat (instead of having to build this ourselves) and efficient project management.

Pros

Very low learning curve (for non-technical colleagues), easy project statuses, custom fields, email to task, replace JIRA

Cons

Sometimes it can take a while to load, cannot replace Confluence yet as documentation functionalities are limited

Most-useful Project Management Software

It's very light and easy to use project management software, compare to another management tool like Basecamp and Jira.

Pros

The software PC and mobile version very easy to use and it's user friendly UI also I liked a lot.

Cons

I failed to manage micro-tasks in this software.

Being a previous Jira user, clickup provides a more streamlined project management and a great number of integration features.

Pros

Versatility, constantly adding new features, outstanding customer support.

Cons

Need to work on reporting features, I heard there are some new coming up

Looks like it could win JIRA, but it's still a bit messy

It looked cool and refreshing compared to JIRA, but didn't throw me off to shift my entire group there.

Pros

I really liked the verbosity and different ways of arranging tasks in boards and lists, everything is easily configurable.

Cons

When trying to bootstrap the first project, there were too many options, and each of them contained way too much functionality for my first board.

Great, but more and more unstable

It's getting more and more difficult to justify to my team and our customer why we work with ClickUp. We had high hopes when we migrated to ClickUp last year and were «big fans», but right now we are actively considering alternatives.

Pros

ClickUp looks great and felt much more «light» in a positive way when we changed from Jira/Confluence to ClickUp. We really liked to the idea of not having a separation between documentation (confluence) and operation (jira) anymore. We also thought that ClickUp will be easier to use for our non technical customers.

Cons

The support of ClickUp is stellar! But ideally, I shouldn't need support at all because everything just works and is self-explanatory. Unfortunately, the opposite is the case. There are weekly outages and performance degradations. ClickUp has promised to put a focus on stability and bugfixing but – at least from a user perspective – the instabilities and outages are increasing (see history https://status.clickup.com). Our team has started calling the tool ClickDown instead of ClickUp because of the many degradations. On top, there are weird bugs (i.e. the "comma" key on the keyboard stops working) which are confirmed by ClickUp, but it appears they cannot solve it [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN].

Good tool for general development

It's weird. For more advanced projects I would prefer to stay with Jira. For smaller ones I would go with Trello.

Pros

UI looks good. It has loads of useful features

Cons

It misses some features. Like epics, more advanced automatisation. Oh and how heavy the interface is... creating a ticket can take up to couple seconds or even more! Too many animations also.

Pros

1. A huge relief from the Jira monstrosity 2. Easy to use, very well designed UI 3. Feature rich 4. Great value

Cons

No real cons I can think of ... Perhaps more storage can be offered to start with
