Pros
They are an award-winning design company and really think through what will be best for the user. They have the best if not the best intuitive design and make it easy to share and complete lists.
It is the best organizer money can buy on the Apple Platform, also it is actually worth it. This app is completely supplied with the necessary features and abilities by thoughtful developers.
The design and UI of this app is both great to look at and amazingly functional. They pack a lot of features into a very uncluttered app and it make for a fantastic experience.
Cons
I paid for a desktop license and an iPhone license. I still prefer this to a monthly fee indefinitely, but there are plenty of companies offering one license for all devices so this was disappointing.
I still use it on my phone, but as a secondary GTD system, because of its lack of integration with Windows.
However, for someone with a more complex task list it is easy to loose items in the database due to the limited search (perspective view).

Things is a great out-of-the-box tool.

Reviewed a year ago

Overall, I found Things to be a great tool that I used for years! It's so simple and easy, which a task manager should be. I wouldn't recommend using this for any complex project management, but it's wonderful for daily tasks and to-do lists.

Pros

I love the clean, intuitive interface of Things, the ease of use, and the simple set of (necessary) features! I like that you pay for the app once, and don't have to commit to a monthly payment.

Cons

One thing that Things is lacking is integrations. I really like to be able to easily turn emails into tasks, for example, and there are no email clients that I could find that would sync to Things. Another thing to note is that if you want Things on all iOS devices, you have to purchase the mobile app, iPad app, and desktop app separately. There is no web app, Android, or Windows functionality at this time.

a super practical to-do app

Reviewed 3 years ago

I love Things, I had used many task managers before and they made making the list of activities a chore, but with how easy it is to do it in things, it really makes it more fun and engaging,

Pros

It might seem like a small thing, but creating tasks quickly is an incredible experience, just hit space to create a new one, and then type the details and hit enter to save, don't need to click anywhere or select from any drop down menu or anything

Cons

I wish it had online collaboration, I love Things for my personal projects and work, but im forced to look for other options for collaborating with others, also its a bit expensive and they charge you for the Mac app, the iOS app and the iPad app separately, that's kind of a bummer, would also like to have recurring tasks

Clean and simple, but limited in how you can access it

Reviewed a year ago

While I would love to use Things, I had to migrate away from it quite realizing just how limited it was in both features and accessibility compared to the other tools out there. I'm not sure why the company behind the tool has no interest in making their app accessible across all devices when the purpose of the tool is productivity. Productivity is quite hindered if the only way I can access it is by picking up my distracting iphone while I'm trying to get work done on my Windows computer.

Pros

- Clean and simple UX and UI is probably Things' strongest features compared to the plethora of similar tools out there.- Great for use with the GTD (getting things done) method- one-time purchase

Cons

My biggest issue with Things is that while it's very simple and uncluttered, it really does not help me be productive. It lacks integrations with other tools and the worst part is that the only way you can access it is to use an Apple device. That means there is no possibility of me accessing my notes and tasks when I need to but I'm working on my Windows computer rather than my mac/ipad/iphone. This...

Things App easy to use

Reviewed a year ago

I use it every day to remind me of daily tasks, upcoming things to do and projects

Pros

It is easy to add tasks (to-dos), due dates, tags and deadlines. Ability to archive events. Pick between Upcoming, Anytime and Someday categories.

Cons

Lack of integration with other apps like Fantastical, other calendar apps. More appearance options of different colors besides Light or Dark

WARNING, highly biased review: I'm a Things die hard fan :)

Reviewed 6 years ago

Being a long time OmniFocus 2 user, at first I was hesitant of switching to Things given the amount of effort, time and money I spent on OF2 already; moreover, I was happy with it (in a general sense) so, again, it took me some time to decide to give Things 3 a fair try. But when I did... boy, oh boy! I already tried other task managers (2DO being the most notable of them) but ultimately stuck with...

Pros

- Both Mac and iOS apps are *EXQUISITE* - Buttery-smooth, impeccable performance - Down-to-earth way to organize your tasks - Beautiful GUI - Wealth of features - Sync between different clients works flawlessly - Cool API - Great integration with other apps (I use it mainly with DEVONthink Pro) - Very nice quick-entry box at the reach of a shortcut

Cons

- I miss not having a public space to discuss the app like other great applications have; I believe that a Discussion forum would add lots of value to the app by enabling its community interaction
