Great for personal and professional use

2017-10-25

Trello is the main project management system used by our team. It lets us communicate with one another and organize projects so it's clear what's being worked on and what's ahead - while keeping a detailed history for future reference. We've been using it for years.

Pros

I love the simplicity of Trello. Sometimes chaotic process can be showcased in a clean format that those involved or not involved can understand. Love the ability to add attachments, comments, and house everything related to a project in the same place.

Cons

Trello does integrate with Slack, but we wish the integration included the Slack notifications when you're mentioned in a Trello comment, and the ability to reply in Slack and have it posted as a comment on the card.

Great for personal and business related task management

2018-12-25

This is great to have everything and all todo lists and projects at one place. You can have a public or private board which makes it easy to bring your personal TODO list to the platform.

Pros

Navigation is easy, drag and drop makes it easy to prioritize a specific task and make it more natural. Mentioning members of the team to notify them is very helpful.

Cons

Doesn't have direct call to team memblers like Slack. This is a functionality that Slack has.

Great for sharing product feature ideas between sales and dev

2019-01-29

Perfect tool aside from Slack that sales can use to share ideas with dev team.

Sharing each new product feature idea as a 'card' on organized 'boards'.

Simple and very easy for managing projects

2018-08-29

With Trello you will be more organized in your projects

Pros

Trello is perfect if you like the agiles methodologies because this is like a Kanvan Dashboard, where you place your tasks and follow the status of each one. What i like most of this software is the UX, it has an mobile App that lets you organize the backlog of your projects just by dragging from board to board and leting you to have a more visual satatus of your project.

Cons

What I don't like is that in some time I connected Trello with Slack and it started sending notifications to Slack for everything, probably this is configurable but I didn't find how.

Helpful way to stay organized and manage projects on a timeline

2017-08-02

Pros

Trello is my life! I don't know how I would be able to manage and stay on task for the multiple projects and programs my team is running. I am able to easily keep track of projects, deadlines and steps needing action along the way.

Cons

I think it would be cool to have an integration with Slack so we could assign tasks right out of a Slack chat and have them automatically post to a specific Trello board.

Simple but limited

2017-08-18

Trello is great for people who are seeking for simple and easy to use task manager. Comparing to other services, it has limited functionalities and some strict restrictions for the free plan, but it should be enough for simple task management for the team who are using Kanban.

Pros

* Ease to use * Integration with many services like Slack and Bitbucket

Cons

* Very strict Limitations on functionalities for the free version * Limit to only 1 power-up in the free plan * Lack of calendar view for tasks

Not the most useful tool

2018-10-01

This is one of those tools that you think will really make a difference, and it truly may for some, but I was completely let down. Only used it for a few weeks and then discontinued. I wouldn't recommend this to software development teams.

Pros

It's really easy to use, and has pretty solid integration with Slack.

Cons

If you have Slack, and JIRA, it seems redundant, at least for software development teams.

Great for lists of tasks for a team of workers

2019-02-13

Until we started using Trello a lot of our to-do list would get lost in the email/slack ether. Now I have no excuse to miss something that I need to do - unless I forget to check slack of course!

Pros

It has an extremely easy to use interface which makes it a dream for collaborating on projects. It allows managers and workers to keep a clear vision of what needs doing in the immediate future.

Cons

It can become unwieldy when dealing with a large amount of tasks. This may not be quite what it is designed for but it could definitely benefit from more advanced categorisation functionality.

Easy task management, good integration with chat service

2019-02-23

I love it Great tool, and its integration with Slack basically helps low-cost operations such as startups get the 'Secretary' they never had to manage the group

Pros

The team boards and task additions and organizations are super reliable and useful. Adding documents, links, and other essentials wherever necessary helps us save time and reach our goals faster and more effectively

Cons

Slack integration does not allow editing / updating tasks from within slack Instead there's a dependence on the user to update Trello, after which trello is just sending a message back to the chat group like an additional participant.

Awesome project and team management tool

2018-09-25

Simply go for it, better than Asana and Trello.

Pros

Separate threads for each project You can start a separate thread from within thread referring to a particular comment by a particular person. Both online and offline versions help easy accessibility. Mobile app with push notifications keeps you updated in real time. Very easy to use interface, and the learning curve is very short. You can start a different project, merge the users from other projects and many many customizations.

Integration with other apps

2019-04-05

I really like Slack. But in my country, Mongolia, when we first set up Slack, it was sometimes laggy on mobile. For example, some chats are not quickly synchronized on mobile and web versions. Maybe it is a network issue.

Pros

It supports integrations with other apps such as Trello

Cons

In the free version, only the last 10k messages are seen. So if you need more history, it is recommended to go up with a paid version.

The thing which I like most about this platform is how well it integrates with GitHub and Trello. Every project I work on has a slack channel integrated with its GitHub repository and Trello board.

Great product, feature rich with great interaction with customers!

2017-09-12

- Effective communication - Different team management with - Efficient management of various projects - Easy integrations with other apps like Trello - Works seamlessly on all devices

Pros

Slack is such a cool product. Small things like one liners we see during page load make you smile and that all combined with a solid product. It truly improves team communication, collaboration and assures that you stay on top of whatever is happening in your organization.

Cons

No real cons for slack. But the way you switch between teams or sign-up for different teams could be a bit different as it becomes a bit difficult to switch between teams sometimes. Maybe they could give us more flexibility to play with the UI so that different teams can be easily differentiated.

Easily the best 'messenger for work' platform

2018-12-20

Overall it's been a good experience. Although it needs a some time awareness for it to become a 'habit'. Thanks to other primary messengers which people just use by default.

Pros

Love the fact that you can use channels to handle a project or also just directly DM a specific member for professional communication. The integration of drive, dropbox works like a whiz and makes life super convenient.

Cons

Would have been a great addition and negated the use/integration of other apps like Trello.

Cons

There is a bit of overhead involved in the way of initial setup, but once you are past that, the experience is top notch!

Slack is best for work

2019-03-20

With Slack, communication with team members and co-workers have been great, plus the initiation and completion of tasks.

Pros

I like the fact that the software can be integrated with other software like Trello. It help improves productivity of team members.

Cons

The fact that it has not been optimized to use minimal network. Usually, a user's network has to be strong before you can access Slack.

2017-06-07

Pros

We can share code snippet, integrate with GitHub and Trello.

Cons

I think it could have a more intuitive interface, some times you get overwhelmed with the amount of information. would be nice to have a better way to manager.

Everything you need to know

Trello is project management software that enables multiple users to organize and prioritize projects. Slack is collaboration software that helps users communicate, coordinate, and collaborate effectively within and among teams.

To help you save time and effort in comparing these solutions, we’ve put together a head-to-head comparison of the products’ core features.

Based on vendor websites and user reviews of Trello and Slack here’s how the core features stack up:

Document management: Files can be uploaded to Trello cards from computers or cloud storage systems (e.g. Google Drive or OneDrive). Slack lets users upload various file types, and files can be accessed in each channel’s sidebar.

Communication: Trello provides communication through comments left on cards and notification feeds. Slack offers instant messaging, as well as the option to comment on previous discussion threads.

Integrations: Both apps integrate with cloud-based management platforms via an application programing interface(API) and feature a range of native integrations.

Access management: Trello offers private, team, and public boards. Slack provides private and public channels, for individual or group chats.

Real-time updates: Both apps update in real time across all devices, regardless of your location.
