What is CostOS?
CostOS is a cloud-based and on-premise cost estimating solution which assists contractors, project managers and consultants with budget planning and feasibility reporting. Its key features include a cost database, bid management, customizable templates, subcontractor management and takeoff.
The application comes with a module which enables users to measure quantities electronically from sources files in formats such as PDF, 2D CAD, BIM models and GIS maps. Teams can use CostOS to source files from multiple modeling solutions and combine them in a single model. The smart assembly functionality allows managers to track pricing for multiple projects, optimize design and identify the most appropriate materials and construction methods.
CostOS lets estimators import pricing schedule data from multiple formats and project data from project planning solutions such as Primavera P6 and MS project. Its drag and drop mark-up facility lets teams create subcontractor and material enquiries electronically. The solution is suitable for firms operating in industries such as construction, oil and gas, energy and mining.
