Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Amp overview
What is Amp?
Amp is a cloud-based coding agent and development environment built for individual developers and software development teams operating at the frontier of AI-assisted coding. Agents run locally or remotely inside isolated cloud machines called Orbs, one per agent thread, allowing autonomous code editing and complex task execution to continue even after a user closes their laptop. The platform is accessible via CLI, a VS Code extension, and JetBrains IDE integration (with diagnostics support for Java, Kotlin, and Scala), with no local environment setup required for agent tasks.
Amp supports multi-agent execution across parallel Orb instances without port conflicts or worktree management overhead. Live app previews are delivered through portals with live reloading, and shared shell access inside Orbs is available via tmux. Code changes can be reviewed from any device, including mobile, before they reach a local machine. Agent scheduling with autonomous wake-up and context retention allows work to proceed asynchronously across sessions. Frontier AI models power autonomous reasoning and production-ready code changes, and users can link a ChatGPT subscription to extend inference coverage across Dial mode settings. Unconstrained token usage ensures the best available model is applied to every task.
Team collaboration is built into the platform's default behavior. Threads and workflows are shared by default, supporting reuse across team members. Shared Orb sessions allow team members to be invited directly into an active agent environment. Leaderboards and public workstreams provide visibility into team-level adoption and progress, making Amp suited for teams that want structured coordination alongside autonomous agent execution.
