BillingHub is web-based invoicing for freelancers and small businesses, priced per issued invoice. There is no monthly fee: you spend one credit when an invoice is issued, and nothing for drafts, estimates, quotes, sending, PDFs or received payments.

Documents

Invoices, estimates and quotes share one editor with a live preview of the finished PDF. Each line item can carry several taxes at any rate, and each tax prints as its own totals row. Documents support discounts, shipping, deposits already paid, notes, terms and your logo, in any of 156 currencies. Estimates and quotes are free on any balance; a client accepts or declines a quote online, and an accepted quote converts into an invoice.

Payments

Card payments run through Stripe Checkout on your own connected Stripe account (Stripe Connect), so the money goes straight to you and card details never pass through BillingHub. The invoice email carries a Pay button that charges the amount still due, and the invoice is marked paid automatically when Stripe confirms the payment. Delayed-notification methods are only treated as paid once the funds have actually settled.

Tracking and history

Every invoice keeps an activity timeline: issued, sent, email opened, viewed, paid, including which path confirmed the payment (invoice tracking, from the 100-invoice pack). Issued invoices are locked, and the seller and client details on them are frozen at the moment of issue, so a later edit to a client record never rewrites a document already sent.

API and integrations (yearly plan)

A REST API creates, reads, issues, sends and settles documents, downloads the same PDF the portal renders, and reports your credit balance. Keys are shown once and stored hashed. Requests that spend money accept an Idempotency-Key, so a retried request never creates a second invoice or spends a second credit. Outbound webhooks announce invoice.sent, invoice.failed and invoice.paid, signed with a per-endpoint secret and retried with backoff. Recurring invoices issue the same invoice on a schedule.

Pricing

Every new account starts with 3 invoices free, no credit card needed. After that: 25 invoices for $25 or 100 for $75 as one-time packs that never renew and never expire, or 300 invoices for $150 a year as a subscription. Launch prices on the 100-invoice pack and the yearly plan rise as places sell.

Limits worth knowing: English only, web only (no mobile apps), one login per account, and no payment reminders, credit notes or purchase orders.
