BoostPDF overview
What is BoostPDF?
BoostPDF is a PDF editor with more than 30 tools that runs in any modern browser and as an Android app. One workspace covers editing, signing, page organization, compression, conversion, OCR and AI tools, so a document can be fixed, signed and exported without switching between separate sites.
Editing
BoostPDF changes the existing words in a PDF instead of covering them with a new text box. You can also add text, images, shapes, highlights, freehand drawings, stamps and watermarks, and QR codes or barcodes (Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A and more), numbered per page if needed.
Signing and forms
Draw a signature, save it in the browser for reuse and place it on any page. Fill in forms with text, ticks and crosses.
Redaction
Redact permanently removes text rather than covering it, with Find & redact for repeated names or numbers and optional withholding grounds such as FOIA or the New Zealand Official Information Act. White Out is available for cosmetic fixes.
Pages
Merge several PDFs, split by page ranges or every few pages, drag pages into a new order (including pages from other PDFs), rotate, crop, add blank pages and remove pages before export.
Compression, conversion and OCR
Compress to a quality level or to a target size such as under 1 MB. Convert PDF to Word and Word to PDF, PDF to EPUB, PDF to JPG or PNG, and images to PDF. OCR makes scanned PDFs searchable in 19 languages. PDFs can be password-protected on export.
AI tools
Summarize a PDF in six styles (concise, detailed, key points, decision matrix, simple words or as an email), translate it into 37 languages shown page by page next to the original, generate a quiz, or chat with it. The chat answers with page references and also accepts editor commands such as "go to page 7", "delete pages 2-3" or "rotate all pages".
Android app
The Android app has the same tools and the same account as the website, plus a camera document scanner with automatic edge detection.
Security and file handling
Signing, annotation, form filling, redaction and page tools run in the browser, so the file is not uploaded. Compression, conversion, OCR and password protection run on BoostPDF's servers: uploads are deleted right after processing and result links expire within an hour. AI tools send the document text to an AI provider; summaries are not stored and chat text is deleted when the chat ends.
Languages
The interface is available in English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Turkish.
Pricing
Free with daily limits per tool and files up to 10 MB. BoostPDF Pro costs US$6.49 per month or US$62.30 per year; it removes the daily limits (OCR and AI tools keep fair-use caps) and allows files up to 100 MB.
