User opinions about ABBYY FineReader PDF price and value

Value for money rating:

Of 65 reviews that provide robust commentary on ABBYY FineReader PDF's price and value, 58% mention it in a positive light.

Reviewers indicate that ABBYY FineReader PDF offers a good value for money, especially when compared to other products like Adobe Acrobat. Some users say that the software provides a comprehensive set of features that eliminate the need for third-party tools, which can save money. Users think the one-time purchase option is beneficial, as it avoids the recurring costs associated with subscription models. Some reviewers feel that the trial version is useful for basic tasks and allows potential buyers to test the software before committing to a purchase. Reviewers appreciate the reasonable pricing plans and the cost-effectiveness of the software, especially for small offices and businesses.

However, some users report that the software can be expensive, particularly for students or personal use. They find the subscription model less favorable and prefer a one-time payment option. Some reviewers find the cost of the software high, especially if it is not used frequently. Users think the mobile app's separate purchase requirement and occasional licensing issues are drawbacks. Some reviewers feel that the price can be prohibitive and suggest looking for promotions or less expensive alternatives. Overall, while many users find ABBYY FineReader PDF worth the investment, others feel the cost could be lower.

To see what individual users think of ABBYY FineReader PDF's cost and value, check out the review excerpts below.

This was a huge find for me as it can duplicate all that I needed from the Adobe products, and more, for a far more reasonable price.
The full version with all the feature set costs a lot of money, but after a month of use, even in a small office, it pays off quite well.
The UI is non-intuitive, can't handle large PDFs (e.g. writing notes in a book), no collaboration, expensive for students - waste of money

Pros
Abbyy Fine Reader has greatly improved over the years and i expect great things from them in the future as technology evolves.
I like the many available languages and a large number of functions that allow us to quickly recognize significant amounts of text. There is integration with popular cloud services.
ABBYY is the best OCR software I've worked with, overall, my experience has been very good, especially when working with converting tables to OCR content.
Cons
The biggest problem this software product have is a price. Also marketing/promotional reasoning about it is so lame.
There will always be document parts which will be badly recognized and you'll have to update some parts of the content manually.
The program used to be very bad. Auto brightness and a preview of the result did not work there.
