Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

CleanSlate overview
What is CleanSlate?
CleanSlate is invoicing software for independent cleaning contractors working short-term rentals and regular residential properties, and for the hosts and homeowners who pay them.
How it works
A property is connected to its booking calendar by iCal feed from Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com or any platform that publishes one. Feeds are polled every two hours. Each confirmed booking's checkout date becomes a cleaning, and each cleaning becomes a priced line item on the current invoice using the rate configured for that property.
Properties without a booking calendar are handled the same way. The cleaner schedules dates directly, either one at a time or on a recurring cadence, and those scheduled cleans feed the same invoice.
The invoice builds continuously through the billing period rather than being created at the end. The cleaner can open it at any point, see what has accrued, add extras, attach photos, and submit when the period closes. Submission locks the line items. The host or homeowner then approves, disputes, or records payment.
Functions
- Per-property rates, flat or hourly, with effective dates
- Extras and credits, including negative adjustment lines
- Photo attachments on individual line items
- Numbered, sequential invoice ids that are never reused, including for voided invoices
- Rate sheet covering the extras catalogue
- Billing cycles: per clean, weekly, twice monthly, monthly
- Calendar validation before submission, comparing invoiced cleanings against synced checkouts
- Dispute and revision flow, with a full status history per invoice
- Void and reissue, preserved in history and excluded from totals
- Earnings reports and spreadsheet exports, cash basis
- Supply and inventory tracking per property, with purchase logging
- Multi-currency display, supporting US and Canadian dollars
Integrations
- iCal calendar feeds from Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com and other platforms
- QuickBooks Online, one-way push of approved invoices and recorded payments
- Xero, one-way push, with an optional auto-send setting
- Spreadsheet export for any other accounting package
Security
- Row-level security on every database table, so an account can only read its own data
- Two-factor authentication using time-based one-time passwords, with backup codes
- Biometric app lock on mobile, using the device's own Face ID or fingerprint
- Calendar feed urls encrypted at rest
- Role-based access levels for teams: owner, manager, contributor and view-only
- Homeowners are a separate principal from team members and can only see the property they are attached to, including its invoices, and nothing else on the account
- Email verification required, no anonymous access
