What's Great about Greenway - Prime Suite

Reviewed 7 years ago

I was on the team responsible for reviewing and selecting the EHR system for our office. When we compared Greenway against several other leading EHR programs we found Prime Suite to be the most functional for all levels of computer capabilities. The cost was also competitive when compared to their competition and has remained so no matter what we've had to change or add over the past few years. Besides functionality we needed a customer support team that wouldn't abandon us and Greenway has not disappointed us in any way. They really appear to make customer service a priority by being prompt with their follow-ups, pleasant to work with when you feel completely inadequate and strive to provide a solution immediately.

Pros

Cons

Occasionally the system gets a bug that can take longer than you'd like to be fixed. The cons are really nothing you can't expect from a computer program and occasionally it crashes but this happens very seldom.

Repeatedly Bill for services despite being paid

Reviewed 3 years ago

NOt good - the billing department cannot keep accounts straight cannot keep invoices straight can tell us why we are being billed

Pros

It works .... most of the time nothing special easily replaced by many others which are less expensive and will have less interruptions due to THEIR mistakes

Cons

Their Billing department is totally confused. WE have then set up on a monthly pay basis - every three months or so they shut us down for a week stating we have not paid. We then have to make multiple phone calls send them copies of our bank statements etc etc and they reinstate us realizing they cant keep track of payments made. THis has become a real problem ans we will be seeking another vendor very soon

HIPAA nightmare upon retirement

Recently changed to semiretired status and exited this software platform. I purchased a 3 month extension specifically to allow time for exiting and transfer of necessary information. Unable to extract financial records despite multiple contacts with customer service. I was told that I could transfer the date out only at the end of use. As I reached the end of my extension I attempted to transfer...

Pros

Used this software beginning with a legacy product that was acquired by Greenway. It provide a stable platform for our function, medical billing.

Cons

HIPAA nightmare upon retirement. Cannot extract data in any usable for at the end of service contract.

A good EHR that continues to improve...

Reviewed 8 years ago

We have used this product since August of 2011. Since then, we have seen this EHR go through it’s growing pains, but ultimately, continues to improve and build on a platform that is more user-friendly and customizable (by non-techinical personnel which ultimately lowers overall cost of ownership) than many others out there in the market. No EHR is perfect and anyone touting such is not providing a realistic assessment of the current state of EHRs. There are definite pros and cons of each and ultimately, decisions need to be made with systems that have more pros than cons. As with any EHR system, you will only see maximum efficiency if the proper time is taken to perform the right set-up and then continuous process evaluation to tweak and adjust as the practice moves forward.

Pros

Ability of non-technical users to update and adjust templates without requiring the assistance of highly-paid consultants or users with advanced “technical” expertise. The new orders module helps tremendously for many different areas and can be used to help with PQRS, in-office lab testing or imaging (and has helped us with many audits to provide evidence of ordering and interpretation of said tests),...

Cons

The correspondence module for referral letters is really weak and needs a major overall. We still have to resort to transcription for more customized and stream-lined correspondence (versus sending the entire note). We know things are trying to move to a more electronic medium in communication, however, some docs will never abandon their fax machines and still really on paper charts. As such, we must...

Very good, thorough product!

Reviewed 8 years ago

Greenway PrimeSuite is a great EHR and PM system that we have been using for a decade now. They have lots of features to help us chart and bill accurately and efficiently, meet MU, PCMH, etc guidelines, and provide the best patient care we can. These programs and features include a great patient portal, customer community, appointment reminder messages, flowsheets, clinical quality measures, easy coding and billing, lots of reporting options, programs for receiveing faxes and medical records, etc.

Pros

I like that they strive to include all the features we need to provide the best patient care we can. This includes a lot of clinical and billing features, patient involvement, reports, etc. The customer service is always quick to answer and helpful. They also have chat features and after hours care which i have used to great success. Our Care Experience Manager, my rep, is amazing and helps coordinate...

Cons

The customer community which has information on how best to use Greenway can be hard to use and requires a lot of knowledge to be able to find information easily. Some of the add on features can be expensive. We have had some issues with the messaging feature, but they are working hard to fix it.

Daily use in a Pediatric Clinic of 9 Providers

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Cost is reasonable compared to several others out there. It isn't hard to navigate. Patient charts make sense. Includes billing, scheduling and charting all in one. Scheduling works really nicely (though always room for improvements) Reports are very customizable (if you know what you're doing). Customer service has had rocky periods, but is greatly improved from recent years presently.

Cons

It isn't the smoothest system ever - too many customizations per provider available. Workflow is clunky, but manageable. Background setup is a pain. Reports don't translate to usable interfaces (like excel).

We've Used Primesuite for 7 years!

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

We started off with local servers in our office to house PrimeSuite. We've since transferred to the cloud-based version and love it! Since we made this transition it's allowed us to open multiple locations seamlessly. We've even integrated patient reminders and a collection service. PrimeSuite does it all for us!

Cons

This software can be a little expensive. If you can justify the cost, I would highly recommend it.

8 year physician user - Provider side review only

Reviewed 8 years ago
Pros

EMR side is long outdated with no apparent plan for modernizing. They are STILL working out problems as simple as getting it to have a functional spell check that is compatible with current operating systems. Specialty support other than ob-gyn is non-existant

Cons

On the provider side, EMR is very complicated to get up and running and needs a dedicated templates person for PE admin and templates both. Superbill does not show total charges for the visit. No easy report to even show a physician how much they billed that day. Lab interfaces and integration are available but very expensive to have built. Patient portal, mobile access and others are an additional add-on expense as are many of the other features they show when advertising the product.

Greenway-PrimeSuite-Positive all around

Reviewed 8 years ago

Being a Greenway-PrimeSuite customer for close to 5 years, has been a very positive experience for our facility. We are a rural health clinic in southern Iowa and Greenway has provided us the ability to stay current in the market and the healthcare IT industry. The transformation from paper to our electronic systems has been wonderful for patient care and operations. We truly feel that we are a partner with Greenway. We have went through the merger process with Greenway as they are looking out for our best interests and delivering quality in many ways. The healthcare industry is changing rapidly and Greenway helps to keep us informed and delivers a product that consistently meets the needs of our providers as well as regulatory needs in a proactive fashion.

Pros

Usability for the providers/clinicians. The forward facing application is intuitive and easy to learn. The interoperability/interface teams have been flawless and wonderful to work with. They also provide a fair price, which is very much appreciated.

Cons

Reporting- The canned reports are okay, but the ability to build custom reports is lacking and cumbersome.

Greenway Primesuite

Reviewed 8 years ago

My practice has been on Greenway Primesuite for 10 years. We have merged with several other multispecialty groups during that time. Having implemented the Greenway PrimeSuite integrated PM/EMR solution in several other multi-location practices (including switching from other legacy EMR/PM systems), the Greenway products have always been well received, with new users quite frequently commenting that their "old system couldn't do that" or "wow, that functionality is so much better/easier in Greenway than it was in XXX EMR".

Pros

Ease of use, very intuitive. Extremely customizable to most specialties. As a result, there are often several ways to accomplish the same task. This allows for workflows customizable to practice needs.

Cons

Cost/licensing has become outdated as more and more web based EMR/PM vendors are offering a subscription pricing model.

Happy User since 2009

Reviewed 7 years ago

I have worked in Medical billing area since 1998 and used several other EHR/Billing software programs. By far, Greenway is my recommendation. Why? It is an all in one system that allows full coverage from seeing patients to billing insurance. Use is fairly simple to learn, with the only minor inconvenience of multiple clicks on some screens. The customer service area ROCKS! Whether we pick up the phone and call or log on to the community and start a case, the turnaround of completion is awesome. All CSR we have dealt with are the courtesy, easy to understand, can take layman examples of problems and convert to technical terms to get the issue solved.

Pros

Ease of use; layout; an all in one system.

Cons

A few extra clicks to complete some areas; some modules are more expensive than a small business can afford but would be useful (example: patient portal)

MU from Thomas Health

Reviewed 7 years ago

We have been using PrimeSuite for over 5 years. We looked at several different EHR's prior to purchasing PrimeSuite and it has lived up to all of our expectations in regards to ease of use, value and reporting capabilities. We are a multi-specialty group with over 60 providers in multiple locations.

Pros

Ease of use, ability to customize to meet our many different specialty needs, reporting capabilities (especially CQM and MU measures), service and support

Cons

The system works well "out of the box" but to really optimize it requires someone in the office who is computer savvy and can tweak it and instruct others in the tweaked functionality. The beauty of Primesuite is its customizability but that requires someone locally to do that for the practice.

EMR Review

Reviewed 8 years ago

Any EMR system has pro's and con's but it is hard to rate when you don't know another system's capabilities with hands on experience. I just based my opinion on what I know.

Pros

Customer service response has improved Representatives are very nice

Cons

Hard to get customization or changes to issues in the system Every update has system error that may take until the next update to get fixed, even though it is a system wide productivity problem. Very expensive to get a new user added, especially being a small group practice Being charged a lot of money for monthly maintenance Have had better reporting capabilities Patient portal needs improvement quickly Very costly for interfaces

We have been clients since October 2011 and it has been a good journey to date utilizing the clinical and practice manager solutions.

Pros

The application is very user-friendly and for the most part easy to navigate. The functionality and capabilities are endless!

Cons

During some upgrades to add new and advanced functions, some of the existing solutions are impacted and in a few instances eliminated. As a consequence, more careful reviews prior to integration of enhancements should be done at the Beta testing stage. New pricing strategy is to a la carte driven.

Pros

The medication functionality was the only reasonable aspect of this program.

Cons

It's a very poorly written program and almost non-functional. I have spent a month trying to learn this program and have found it to be completely counterintuitive and somewhat detrimental to patient care.
