Mavoin is a browser-based invoicing application for GST-registered independent professionals and studios of one to three people in India who bill domestic clients in rupees and overseas clients in foreign currency. It handles document generation and receivables tracking only, and does not include a general ledger or bookkeeping layer.

Tax and compliance functions

Tax treatment is derived from the supplier state, the place of supply, and the client type rather than selected manually. Intra-state supplies split into CGST and SGST; inter-state supplies apply IGST. Each line item carries a SAC or HSN code. Invoice numbering runs as a sequential series scoped to the financial year, preventing the gaps and duplicates that hand-maintained numbering produces. Export invoices for services are issued under a Letter of Undertaking without payment of IGST, with the required declaration rendered on the document itself.

Multi-currency handling

Invoices can be raised in USD, EUR, GBP, and other currencies. The exchange rate applied is stored against the invoice record and printed alongside the foreign-currency total with its rupee equivalent, so reported figures can be reconciled against the amount actually credited when the remittance settles at a different rate.

Documents and receivables

Invoices render to PDF for download or email delivery. Client records store contact details and GSTINs for domestic clients. Payment state is tracked per invoice as paid, due, or overdue, with an outstanding total across all clients.

Integrations

Razorpay handles payment collection. A Model Context Protocol connector exposes invoice creation to AI assistants including Claude and Cursor, which lets an invoice be drafted from a chat or editor session without opening the application. The connector authenticates over OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and supports Dynamic Client Registration.

Architecture and security

Mavoin runs on Next.js with a managed PostgreSQL backend, deployed on Vercel behind Cloudflare. All traffic is served over HTTPS. Tenant isolation is enforced at the database layer through row-level security policies, so a query can only return records belonging to the authenticated account. No card data is stored by Mavoin; payment credentials are handled entirely by Razorpay. MCP access is scoped per authorised client and revocable by the account owner.

Deployment and requirements

Software as a service, no installation. Runs in any modern desktop or mobile browser. Single-user accounts; multi-user workspaces are not currently supported.

Paid plans start at ₹199 per month. A 30-day trial provides full access with no card required and steps down to a limited free tier rather than locking the account.
